As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted by a masked person sitting at a table ready to check you in. My appointment was on the second floor so I decided to take the elevator instead of the stairs. Signs are posted everywhere about stopping the spread of the Coronavirus. Upon entering my appointment I was greeted by an older receptionist who was not friendly or welcoming. At summit urology they are sanitizing everything including the pens you use to check in. I saw that everyone was wearing a mask except for the receptionist. Masks were available for patients, if you were not feeling well, and/or had a cough, otherwise they were not handed out freely. Dr Stout is a wonderful doctor. Very thorough, and has great bedside manner. She went over every option available, and even showed me an app I could download for the best prescription prices in the valley. Office location is close to the freeway entrance/exit so it's easy to get to.

I had a 3:30 appt today and was literally parked in I15 heading to that appointment. I called at 3:10 to assess if I can still be seen if slightly late. The scheduler stated that if I was her by 3:45 it would not be a problem but they would do what they can to accommodate me. I arrived in the office before 3:45 and after waiting at the check in desk to get checked in I was told, oh, it is now 3:46 so you need to reschedule. She went and asked the MA if I could still be seen and I was flat out refused, but I could reschedule for a month from now. It is quite sad when I have a fabulous provider yet the front desk makes me want to leave the practice all together. What I also find interesting is that 99% of the time when I arrive for appointments I wait in the waiting area for 30-40 minutes after my appointment time before being called back, but because I am 1 minute past the "reschedule time" at no fault of my own, I am refused the appointment.

Blake Johnson, Summit Urology saw my husband & I today after he received high prostate PSA level & had a biopsy 3 weeks ago. After a stressful hour-long delay, he swooped into the room & stated "so it sounds like your results were negative". We both breathed a huge sigh of relief & my husband pumped his fists in the air with joy. He said, "oh, I thought you already knew". We asked him to clarify that the results were negative as there is a difference between "sounds like & "is"". He got onto the computer & said "YES, they are negative". Another sigh of relief. We continued to talk about his initial test results, then he looked back at the computer & said, "wait, sorry, wrong patient"... My husband said "I'm (& gave his name)", Johnson chuckled & said "yes, they are negative", again... a 3rd sigh of relief! We continued to discuss the PSA levels & asked if it could have been due to my husband's recent medications. He explained that there could be several reasons why they were high, but nothing needed to be done at this time. My husband & I asked additional questions about the future, side effects, reasons etc. trying to understand & happened to mention the specific level once more ... He then looked at the computer & said "S**T! WRONG PATIENT", tap, tap, tap, sweat washes over him & he says, "sorry, you have prostate cancer". This is entirely unacceptable & complete negligence & incompetence. 3 times he told us my husband did NOT have prostate cancer. I became very angry, to which he became defensive & started to blame his MA, accusing her of misleading him by saying that this was his "last patient". I asked him if he doesn't know who he's talking to? He said he'd had a busy day & his schedule had gotten moved around & he had performed surgery etc... lots of excuses. I told him in no uncertain terms that I didn't give a .... about any of that. I asked for his name, he refused to give it to me, so my husband confirmed it for me. He apologized & left to get a print out. While I was angry & speaking to my husband who was visibly shaken, Johnson walked back in & told me, "don't take it out on him", to which I told him NOT to tell me what to do. How dare he, especially as I was expressing my frustrations with him, not my husband. He returned with the printout & offered to go through it, which he did. I told him we will not be going back to see him or anyone else in his clinic. He gave us a referral, but we will be seeking someone entirely different, because we could never trust his judgement. Chronic issues were affecting my quality of life and today, the day after my appointment with Lori I have a plan, a good plan for a healthy and happier life. Lori provided advice on lifestyle changes, such as diet modifications, maintenance medications that are preventative for frequent UTIs, and information to prevent or manage urinary problems. Lori educated me about estrogen loss and how it impacts bladder health. I would also like to acknowledge her PA McKay. He was extremely patient, kindness goes a long way when you're not feeling well, and he had an abundance of it. Seeing a good urologist empowers women to manage their symptoms and regain control over their health and well-being. My experience was excellent, as you can discern from my review that I highly recommend and thank Lori for her compassionate and excellent care.

After a one week of throwing up feces and one emergency room visit, which was overseen by Peter Fisher who did not deliver a correct diagnosis, my partner had emergency surgery to remove the half of his prostate from where it had attached to his intestines and caused a closed loop nearly destroying his intestines. Had it not been for our insistence that we get my partner a CAT scan, he would have lost a section of his intestines. Caputo called this situation standard of practice. Be very careful trusting either of these men to do surgery on you.

Patient of Dr. Morris for five years. Dr. Morris failed to discover prostate cancer although all of…read morethe symptoms were there. Instead, he opted for expensive, painful surgeries, twice. While still undetected, prostate cancer led to kidney failure. Cancer had spread throughout pelvis and to lungs before it was discovered by a kidney doctor at the dialysis center. Now on dialysis for life and have terminal cancer. Quality of life has been severely altered for me and my family. This may all have been avoided had Dr. Morris done simple routine blood tests. When Dr. Morris was informed of the cancer diagnosis, there was no empathy, apology, nothing. Take my advice: find another doctor if you want appropriate treatment.

But that was the ONLY acceptable portion of the visit. After waiting for 35 minutes for the doctor, we hear him answer the phone in the hallway for another 10 minute conversation. The prescription required weekly injections which required "training" and an additional appointment. At checkout, the experience was chaotic. The scheduler did not understand the doctor's instructions and it took us another 30 minutes to get things figured out. After all was said and done, we were still unclear about the time of the next "training". When we called to verify, it turns out they did not get us on the schedule and we had to postpone treatment until they could "squeeze" us in. At the "training" appointment and a 15 minute wait, we were instructed by a PA for under 5 minutes and charged $100 for the visit. (That's $1,200/hour to learn how to do an injection.) Never again. We will find somewhere else who truly understands the value of a customer.
