Oh my goodness I did one of the stupidest things I ever did in my life, but Dr. Paul Huffaker and…read morehis dental assistant Anna, saved me lol! I was opening a new small bottle of Loctite water resistant super glue gel with my teeth and didn't know that a whole glob was going to come out into my mouth! It was pretty much the whole bottle. I have no idea how that happened since I was so careful not to squeeze it. It was horrifying! I scraped as much off my tongue as I could but it hardened pretty quickly as I called Poison Contol. They reassured me that when it was dry it would not be toxic to me. It was like I had cement all over my upper and lower teeth on the front and right side of my mouth, and on the roof of my mouth. I couldn't get it off! It wouldn't budge no matter how hard I tried. So the next day I went to Dr. Huffaker's office. Everyone there is so nice! As he got started getting it off my teeth he was very reassuring and said that he could get the superglue off my teeth. He was kind and talked to me as he worked. Some of what he told me were some of the uses of super glue. Very interesting! It helped me not hate super glue forever lol. He worked at it for quite awhile and did some major work! And then Anna came in and did the fine-tuning with some fine instruments and the polisher. It took quite some time to get it all off! She kept asking me if I could feel anymore and I'd keep saying yes there's more here or there. There was so much! It got in every little tiny crack and crevice in my teeth. She was so patient and detailed and cared to get every little bit of it off. My tongue was raw from having that cement-like/sandpaper feeling in my mouth for almost 24 hours. It was such a relief to have her get all those MANY areas taken care of. My teeth feel amazing now and my tongue is already feeling better next day too. You guys saved me! Thank you so much!

My second visit had to be rescheduled because I was sick and could hardly function. I was also about to leave for a trip and was afraid he wouldn't be able to reschedule before I left, but he got me in 3 days later (the day before I left for my trip) He managed to save a tooth that most likely would have been an expensive crown at most other places. He doesn't push to have unnecessary work done and he'll work with you to figure out the cheapest, best option for treatment. He also does payment plans. Highly recommend!

Because of the complexity of the procedure, he referred me to this office. Before the appointment, I was asked whether I wanted medication for pain or anxiety. I said yes. When I arrived for my appointment, however, there was no indication that anything had been prepared or provided to help with my anxiety. The procedure itself was extremely difficult for me. My anxiety became so intense that I found myself quietly humming "I Am Iron Man" just to keep from having a panic attack while they worked on me. I understand that dental procedures can be stressful, but if patients are asked in advance whether they need help managing anxiety, that information should be acknowledged and acted upon. It left me feeling unprepared and unsupported during an already difficult experience. Not to mention, the "implant" fell out a month after. Your office made me feel enough shame, that I was't going back for second helpings. But seriously, I would like my $2000 back. Shame aside.

It was a filling that wasn't due for replacement yet. Amy, the awful billing lady yelled and argued with me over the phone that it's not their job to check if the tooth had been worked on in the past by another office. These people are lazy as sh*t and will NOT check any sort of tooth history just to trap you into paying their blown up fees. Watchout, this is a strategy of theirs! All other offices I've been to will not hesitate to call your insurance to gather pertinent information about the tooth that needs work. The filling, by the way, was no good. As you can see from the other reviewers, Dan Mirci absolutely sucks at performing fillings. Save yourself the headache and avoid this office and the awful billing lady! The rest of the ladies there were nice but Amy the biller is a total b*tch. The dentist agreed and looked at the tooth (simple filling) but then decided that she didn't have time. The office was pretty empty, and I didn't see any other patients, but I didn't argue the fact and went to the desk to see if there was a bill. I just received a bill, with a threatening note telling me that the bill is going to be sent to collections?! What bill? This office made me feel incredibly comfortable from the very first phone call. They knew what they were talking about and followed up with me when they said they would. Not only they were very upfront with the cost and potential amount of time needed for the appointment( unlike many of the other offices,) all of their staff were very friendly and professional. In addition, Dr. Thunell is incredibly competent, patient, and down-to-earth. He made sure to explain to my young son what the procedures would be like(without scaring him) ahead of time, he also went out of his way to ensure my son felt comfortable during the entire appointment. They truly have a wonderful team!

The out-of-state place wouldn't do both a cleaning and a checkup at the same appointment. Plus, they tried to tell me I needed gum grafts. Southwest respects your time and your money. I show up and they get me in and out fast. They don't try to tell you you need services now when it's okay to wait.
