Admittedly, and communicated to her on arrival, getting my longer hair cut just a few times a year makes me an even bigger pain in the ass than normal. But most of those glowing reviews are pre-covid. I don't know if a lot of their stylists left but there's a notable lack of reviews post-covid. They're kind and the space feels lux and quiet. Problem is communication, went multiple times feeling very whelmed and changed stylist every time. After my third time I think I'm done, I've shown pictures and discussed with them what I wanted but they can never seem to get it right. Instead they default to a generic taper short off the sides and medium top cut, but then why tell me you can do the cut or even have experience with it? Is it my head shape? Face? Am I too ugly? Communicate that to me before you decide to just ignore the conversation we had and just free style. It's frustrating because I am growing out my hair for this cut and they do what they want. I don't want to be rude and stop you mid cut but then why am I paying so much just to be left unsatisfied? Most of the men leaving the place have the same exact cut. Anything longer than a short to medium cut is a no go, those cuts look clean and nice. Kept going in with shoulder length wavy hair just to get butchered every time.

I have had many haircuts from many different stylists and barbers, and this place tops all the rest. Nested privately in a sleek building lobby on Park Ave, you already feel like a million bucks upon entering. The salon caters to men ranging from a regular wash-and-go type of guy to the businessmen working in midtown who need a bit of trimming during their lunch break. There are only two stalls, and each stall is private. The experience between the two barbers adds up to possibly more than 40 years, and it shows. By appointment only. The receptionist is very friendly, and the barbers are the ones who wash your hair also. You're never really told how much to pay, and you're treated like a Renaissance man every time you sit. There is always great conversation to be had with the barber, and you leave the place feeling great and not worrying about how your hair looks. The barber also gives great tips on how to manage your hair. I don't like getting haircuts often, so he catered to that need and my hair has never looked and felt healthier after following his advice. I'll go back for more!

I figure I've earned it. I don't even live close, but it's worth the inconvenience. If you want bring your dog, it is as dog friendly as can be. They actually welcome two of my dogs. If I had three that would be fine too I'm sure. ‍ As soon as you walk through the door, they offer you a drink. They keep your drink full throughout. And they offer my dogs a drink. Not alcohol. My dogs usually tell me they want to drink. They keep their bowls full too. only. No need to call the ASPCA. The prices are reasonable.
