The owners and staff are super friendly. Food is always delicious, fresh and huge servings.

Nice little spot to grab some diner type food. The service was genuinely welcoming and the food was delish! (the potatoes on the grill are especially heavenly!) The cost ended up being just a little more than I was expecting, but not by that much. read more

Went for super on a Friday night with my wife and 2 kids (2 & 4 years old). Arrived just a the rush was ending. First thing I noticed were the prices on the menu, they looked high for a "Diner". We ordered the Breakfast Boat ($13.99), the daily Haddock Special ($9.99), and two Chicken Fingers Kids Meal ($8.99 each?). Price - Other then the Haddock daily special, the prices are high for what you get. My Breakfast Boat was not worth $13.99, and kids meals for $8.99 is high, especially when the consist of two chicken fingers and a handful of fries. The kids meal did come with a dessert (small ice cream or donut), but I still find the price high. Food - The food wasn't very good. The kids fries had a hint of fish taste to them, which means they are deep fried in the same oil as the fish. That is a no-no for any restaurant. Second, the chicken fingers were tasteless. Same can be said for the breaded Haddock. My Breakfast Boat was good, that's it. It's hard to go wrong with breakfast. Service - The service was ok. The waitress did talk and joke with our 2 year old, and I am tempted to add a star for that, but in the end joking and talking with a kid doesn't really improve service does it? Atmosphere - Decor is your typical '50 Diner, but where was the music? Some Music can on for a minute but them stopped and only came back on 5 minutes later. Result - I won't be going back, nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

I will mention one thing off the top that killed this food experience for me. A dessert fridge in the middle of the lower level, where we were seated, that ran most of the time we were there and was loud enough that you had to speak above it be heard by the person next to you. We had the fish and chips and the large seafood chowder. The chowder was a decent portion and fresh, not very flavorful and bordering on bland. The fish and chips were fine. The fish seemed fairly fresh. The batter was on the greasy side which for whatever reason, isn't the case with best fish and chippers out there. This place has been reinvented as a 50's style diner from a fish and chip shop with two results. First, the menu covers everything from breakfast to typical diner fare along with the usual fish and chip shop offerings. Second, the interior screams 50's diner and the owners are trying way too hard to that end. Everywhere you look, a neon sign pulsates in your face along with the usual Marilyn Monroe and Elvis imagery. If they could halve the number of neon signs and cut back on the gawdy 50's shtick, this place wouldn't grate on my nerves so much. I've been to plenty of great 50's diners that seem more of a celebration of the era, but this place is anything but that. Would I return? Doubtful. read more

Food was not bad. Service was great. Price was a bit exesive for the portion. I take big brakefast not that bad. My wife take a hot turkey. Ws good except for the gravy. Gravy was yark. Resto was clean and confy. Will not recomend this resto cuz its to much typical. There is noyhing there who make me feel wow. Taste or deco is typical. read more

My husband & I went to Steves during a power outage. He ordered Chicken Tenders & Fries, I ordered the Salisbury Steak. When his plate arrived the fries looked like they came from someone else's plate, shriveled & definitely old. His Chicken Tenders were Pressed Chicken. Terrible tasting. He naturally didn't finish his meal. The mashed potatoes on my plate had a crust on them from laying around so long. I didn't finish my meal either. Although the staff was friendly, the service was very slow. I posted my review on their FB page only to have it removed & not addressed. $37 spent & lesson learned. Never again. read more

I usually like this restaurant and took a friend from out of town here today for takeout. They made the milkshake first and then my food was ready. My friends order was only ready 10 minutes later while the other food sat on the counter. Her order of fries were mildly warm while my meals was the same since it sat on the counter and not under heat. The milkshake turned into melted ice cream. They also didn't give us any ketchup for the fries in the take out bags. This isn't my first disappointment here, and for the price of the food for what you get... I will never go back. read more

"Meh. I've experienced better" is exactly how I feel about this place. I found as someone who has a limited amount of choices when it comes to my meals (I don't eat seafood, beef or pork) that my choices were even more limited here. A group of co-workers and I came here for lunch on afternoon after the place next door, which we had heard was amazing, was packed with people and we were in a rush... I found that for what it was it was really just "meh". Sure it was kind of cool to eat in an old styled 50s diner, but I've done that before, with better food and nicer servers. It took for what seemed forever for our meal and then the waitress messed up my bill THREE times in a row... I felt like I had to walk her through how to charge me. Anyways, all in all it was just a show that I would rather not play over and over in my head. read more

If I could rate this place zero I would. Served me BURNT FOOD. And would NOT make it right! I sent the food back to the kitchen and the waitress brought it back with the comment of "the cook says there is nothing wrong with it!" Really? Had the breakfast. Eggs were not fresh, could have been microwaved, rubbery. Sausage was ok, small. Toast was just toast. Portion was small. Not good value for the money. This place was awesome years ago and good portions and quality for the price. They jacked up the prices, shrank the portions and it hardly seams fresh. I stopped getting the fish after the last price increase. Homestead next store is delicious seams steves is just a place for people who can't wait for a seat at the always packed Holmstead next door. Seams Steves is never busy, so they raise the prices and get fresh food less often. read more
