When I found the same boat much closer to me I called them to cancel my order and they charged me a "restocking fee" for a boat that had not yet been brought into the shop, or unwrapped. The fee I had to pay, over $260, is the charge when someone buys a boat, takes it home, and then returns it. I can understand a small penalty for "making" them write up a sales slip, but this was excessive.

I called and spoke with Cynthia and she was such a sweetheart and called over to the boat to make sure me and my mom were all set- so once we arrived Jordan whom was our " Captain Jack Sparrow" was eagerly awaiting our arrival. He was an absolute joy- he brought so much fun to this boat ride and even though my mom and I are adults - we are simply big kids at heart and Jordan just added more excitement to that. The boat is decorated so cute, our Captain offered us a necklace and pirate coins RRRRRR. We went on a nice sail around the park (where the swan boats go), and everyone was taking pictures of the boats and us- I hope more people find out about this option because it was only $15.00 per adult for a 25 minutes exploration ride which was so much fun. I live in Connecticut but found Scott's Boat Service in Rhode Island. I had a number of calls to make sure we had the right equipment. Scott Lehigh, the owner, is extremely courteous, helpful and really spent the time to make sure I got the right equipment. He always got back to me promptly. I bought the equipment, his pricing was very reasonable, and he got the stuff shipped to me really quickly, at a very good price. I've dealt with a lot of mechanics, boatyards, dealers and miscellaneous boat and marine service people over the years, and many are unreliable and not even competent. But they don't get better than Scott's. Every aspect of my dealings with him was first rate.

To see the…read moresea Oakland Beach launch is a nice site that gives you access to several bodies of water. Depending on your mood and desire you can go north up Warwick Cove, over to Brush Cove, west into Greenwich Cove, or around Warwick Point and out into Narragansett Bay. The site has parking for at least 50 or so cars and trailers but does get filled up pretty quickly in the summer. There are two paved ramps that hold some fairly large boats without trouble and enough water so you won't rip the bottom of your hull out. It's an exceptionally nice place to launch a kayak or canoe because there is a sandy beach to the side of the paved ramps so you can get out of the way of trailers and the larger boats. It's a safe place to leave your vehicle and I haven't heard of many crimes around the launch, probably because of the large volume of people in the area. Once in the water a yak can go up Warwick Cove for a nice quiet and relaxing paddle or out into Greenwich or Narragansett Bay for more excitement. There usually is a strong south blow in the summer , especially in the afternoon, so the bays can get pretty feisty quite quickly. If you like lighthouses, you can get a great view of Warwick Lighthouse located on Warwick Point . This is also a great place to launch if you want to paddle out to Patience or Prudence islands. Only a couple of miles but just remember once the afternoon wind picks up the trip back can be a lot more exciting the the trip out there. Assuming you make it back alive, there are several nice seafood restaurants over in Oakland Beach where you can pig out and relax after your adventure.

Though it's a free ocean and an enjoyable fishery perhaps it would serve the fishery as a whole if you educate your customers regarding ediquette while fishing around other folks chasing false albacore and bonito. Please do not: 1. cut off other anglers who are slowly preparing an approach on a school of fish. 2. Please don't race over and jump on schools of fish, it only spooks them and they sound. 3. If another angler is hooked up please don't motor close to the boat hooked up where as they may cut off the hooked fish. Everyone wants to have a good time on the water but it's becoming not a good time. As a part of the community I would hope you would please pass on some sage advice to this new breed of angler. It would be much appreciated.
