Gabriel and his crew--Alfredo and Hirnes--did a wonderful job understanding and delivering exactly the look we wanted for the trees and hedges. Our yard is densely landscaped and this was not an easy. Communication was clear, the work was done in a timely manner, and Alfredo and Hirnes asked for feedback as they cut to ensure everything was correct. All three men--Gabriel, Alfredo and Hirnes--are exceptionally nice and professional. In this day of no callbacks and some landscaping companies making it clear they prefer commercial to residential jobs, it is great to know you can call people who care to do outstanding work. Very unprofessional. I setup an appointment to get a quote and they guy said he forgot his tool to measure my yard. Then he asked if he could come back the next day and he never called me or showed up. I called him to set up for the (third day) at 6:00pm and he said he had an appointment in the grove at 5:30pm and then he would come over. I called him at 6:00 to see if he was on his way and he said he just got home from kendall. Needless to say he never showed up. I then called the office and they said they would have the owners brother call me who never called. This place is very unprofessional. Do not use them. read more

Did my project (around $4,000) with Steve's Trees. Turned out better than I expected. Jake is a pleasure to work with and the other staff was super friendly as well. Jake gave me a fair price and made sure that all the details were done how I wanted. He came to the house several times a day during the 3 day period that work was being done to make sure everything was going alright. I was given a quote, by an employee and when he was supposed to come back to finish the job he was no longer with the company. When Steve came out the price " no longer existed" and he was going to charge me again a 1000.00 dollars to finish trimming the tree.... don't good business not nice. read more

Please beware. These guys are experts at the classic scummy contractor bait and switch. They agree to a job at a specific price and then on the day of the job sit around and only do a third of the work that was agreed on. Then ask for more money or give excuses like they didn't have the right machines to do the work even though that's the job they originally agreed to. I know most of their reviews are positive but the negative reviews I've found on review sites all have had a similar experience. We had the displeasure of dealing with Mark for our experience he's either a co-owner or Steve's son, if I recall correctly, and an absolute scam artist. They get a way with it because after doing a half-done job you either have to pay them the full amount or they take you to court right away. In cases like this because they did some work a judge will take the contractors side 99% of the time unless you pretty much recorded your verbal agreement before the job as evidence. They are very well aware of this and that's why they're so brazen with their scam. Look up their company lawsuits on the Miami Dade County Clerk site and they've filed multiple lawsuits over the last few years. It's ironic that they paint their trucks pink to pretend they care about charity, it's always the biggest scam artists that want to advertise that they're charitable. There are plenty of other good landscaping companies in South Florida is doing business with these guys really worth the risk of getting ripped off? Beware. read more

I needed 2 trees trimmed back. I called 4 other companies and 3 never returned voicemails, 1 answered but took 3 days to have someone call back to schedule a meeting for an interview. When I called Steve's Trees in the morning, Steve actually told me to expect a call shortly from Jake to schedule an appointment do an estimate. Jake called me back in an hour and came by the same day to look at the trees I told him my concerns with the trees and he suggested a height for the trees. By the end of the day he sent me an e-mail with a quote. On the day of the actual tree cutting, Jake actually showed up to make sure staff knew what the plan was and they worked quickly and professionally. This was a great experience and I have no complaints about the job they did. I definitely recommend them. read more

I had an excellent experience with this company. The communication was excellent and the work was even better. Jake came out on the day the work was to be performed and he let me know what he thought should be removed. He also listened to my concerns about certain tree branches that had grown to high and were susceptible to damage in medium to high winds. After discussing the work to be performed with him and the crew, they go to it. Jake even returned midway to make sure all was going according to what we had discussed. They did an amazing job and organized the debris very neatly in front of my house so that I could request bulk pick up. Even better was his estimate was half the price that another company had given me for the same work. I would highly recommend Steve's for your tree trimming needs and I plan to use them every year before hurricane season to "clean up" any excess foliage. Landscaping?! How about "Mow, Blow, and Go"?!!! (direct quote from Steve's son) and how about the $90.00 per the Mow, Blow, and Go? Again, per the son, it's 90 minutes of M,B,&G... for which the two man crew did not work longer than one hour. Hmmmm... 90 min.=$1.00 per minute ... sooooo 60 min. would equate to $60.00 or do you just charge for 90 min. regardless? This might be somewhat acceptable, IF you did an excellent job ... but a simple Mow and then blow it all to one side of the property ... excuse me, but when does the Landscaping begin - per your Logo? Perhaps you should change your logo because I call BS! I know, I know - you explained you really want out of the Residential service and wish to focus on Commercial ... good luck with that. Driving by on my streets near my home...pretty quite area. Couldn't get passed them because they had lots of small branches in the road. Entire crew sitting on their butts doing nothing. I had to get out and move them myself not to get entire car scratched up. Was NOT a big job either...took me 2 minutes...that my friends is laziness at its finest. read more

Horrible customer service while working with their client they destroyed our hedges. We had to stop their worker from cutting more of our hedge over our fence. Managers comments were my Gardnerer said he didn't do it!! Never called us back not even an apology for their negligence. read more

My house is under a canopy of oak trees, which sounds romantic and powersaving but actually causes a myriad of maintenance problems. My roof was need of repair due to dead wood falling from the trees and tanins and leaves deposited on the roof by the trees. It seemed logical to have some clearance over the roof before the repair was undertaken. I called several tree trimmers and arborists and received four estimates. The first three estimates seemed outrageously high as I was only requesting that the dead wood be trimmed from the trees not that a complete shaping and clearance accomplished. Finally I called Steve's Tree after an internet and friend search and found a company with a heart and a conscience as they donate part of every fee to ovarian cancer research in honor of one of their founders. After waiting seeming forever for other tree trimmers to call back and then to arrange for a visit to the property, Steve's Tree answered their phone and told me the name of the person who would return the call the same day. Jake did call that very day and made an appointment and arrived early for estimate visit. I explained my predicament and after some consideration Jake came up with an estimate I could live with. Jake showed up as per our arranged time to be certain the trimmers were on the job. The trimmers came on time and worked tirelessly to get the job done. They were both polite and diligent and a pleasure to work with to get the task accomplished in under the estimated time resulting in an even more reasonable fee. I cannot recommend Jake and the crew from Steve's Tree more highly. They have me as a customer for life. read more

I agree with most of the reviewers. We hired him for a big project that was supposed to take about 5 - 7 days of work. That was before Thanksgiving 2015 and here we are in February 2016 with the job still incomplete. During the course of that time they removed 3 palm trees that they were not supposed to, took a chunk off of another palm tree with their bobcat, left ruts all throughout our backyard, cut our dsl line, broke off a large section of sprinkler and had it just sticking up in the air, and made no attempt at making the landscaping look good. At this point attempts to call him have been ignored with no answer or return phone call. I tell your friends and family to avoid this company at all costs. read more
