I've been meaning to write this review for a while. I've finally have come around to it. After Hurricane Irma passed, I needed tree cutting and trimming service. More specifically, I had a tree limb that broke and was weighing down heavily on my electrical drop to the house. I've never used a tree service company before, so I really had no idea which company to use. I resorted to checking out the reviews for a few companies on Yelp. I selected to call one company that had great reviews, but the owner turned down my business because my home was located outside of his service area. So then I found Sunshine Tree Trimming as my next option. I selected to go with them because of their great reviews as well. However, since I had never used a tree service company before, I wanted to make sure the price being quoted to me by Nelson was fair. So I checked with the first company that turned me down and asked them if the price being quoted to me by Nelson sounded about right with the type of work I wanted done. They said yes, it sounded about right. So now knowing I was being fairly charged by Nelson, I gave him the go ahead to begin the tree cutting/trimming project. In fact, he surprised me by giving me a call a day ahead of the day he said he was going to begin the project and asked if he could just start that very day instead. Of course I said yes! When I got home after work I was surprised to see the amazing job Nelson and his crew did. They surpassed my expectations. By a stroke of luck, Nelson happened to be in the neighborhood when I called out of the blue for an estimate. He came over when he said he would and looked at the situation. We have three huge oak trees, (two of which were overhanging our roof) a couple of Japanese Orchids an a massive Hayden Mango tree all of which were in desperate need of thinning and trimming. One of the Orchids was in a bad location, touching power lines and needed to be removed. Nelson described in general what he'd like to do. I could tell he actually cares for the health of the trees. He spent a good amount of time alone in my yards, forming a plan of action and writing out a detailed, line item estimate. When I read the estimate, I could clearly see that what he planned to do would be good for the trees, the power lines and our roof. The prices seemed fair for the massive amount of work that had to be done so we put down the deposit and two days later, the oak trees were trimmed and thinned, the Orchid tree removed and the stump (and another stump) were ground. The other orchid tree was thinned and trimmed. The debris was stacked neatly on our berm and our oak trees look majestic. Nelson also gave me an estimate for the work on our gigantic mango, and we will definitely bring him in again (after all the fruit drops) to give it some TLC. I cannot say enough good things about Sunshine Tree Trimming from the first phone call to the last branch they were prompt professional and kind. I called the business and the owner Nelson answered himself we set an appointment for an estimate he arrived exactly on time and gave us a fair price we set a time to get the work done and again him and his crew arrived exactly on time. They did an amazing job on our new house removed a large invasive umbrella tree that was unsafe for our dog and perfectly trimmed two large fruit trees mango and Avocado and ground down several stumps the crew did a great job and were very polite and careful in the work. Nelson is a man of his word. He demands the best from his crew so you, the customer, get the best results. He is thorough, on time, and when my "three day extensive forest clearing" project was finished the property looked immaculate. Phase II -- I lost a very large gumbo limbo in Hurricane Irma last year. Try as it might, the gumbo was not going to return to its original beauty. Experts predict a very busy hurricane season. To help prepare, I had Sunshine Tree Trimming cut back the numerous trees in my yard so I don't have to worry about a tree falling on my house or my neighbors' homes during a storm. I had some diseased palms that I wanted to have cut down and I was leaving on vacation so I wanted to get it done before I left. Nelson came and gave me an estimate to remove the diseased trees and also gave me an option to fully trim all the palms in my front and side yard which I accepted. All the work was done while I was gone and he sent me before and after pictures when the work was completed. I was very happy with how everything looked. My yard was transformed and it looks great!! The Drake Elm in our side yard appeared to be dying. Graying branches lost most of their leaves and weren't growing new ones. The once-thriving tree was clogged with Spanish moss.
