Just got my VIP customer inspection. The air conditioner worked fine before the tech got here. 20 minutes after he charged me $1,100.00 and left, the air conditioner would not come on. It's 82° and rising in my home. I called Stewart Plumbing and asked them to send the technician back. They said it just wasn't possible. I'd have to wait until tomorrow and maybe I could be seen then on an urgent call. I'll wait till tomorrow and find a new heating and air-conditioning service. I recommend anybody who uses this company find somebody else to work on their heating and air. read more

Very friendly and upfront with pricing. In my case the problem I was worried about wasn't as big of an issue as I thought. I didn't need work done if I didn't want it. Austin, the tech who came out to my house was extremely professional and took the time to show me what I needed to know to avoid problems in the future. That alone was worth the trip charge. For any quality plumbing service, you should not expect a free quote. It's only fair to pay a pro for their time, especially if they're going to be teaching you a few things about your home. While the quote for my job was a bit higher than expected, their service looks solid. From what I experienced, they quote on the higher side with part of the service being that they won't surprise you with additional charges if something goes wrong on a job and they have to eat the additional labor cost. They also let me know that they may adjust down if the job is much easier than expected. read more

First time using them - had a little emergency (overflowing drain in the basement - midtown Memphis old home) The first night they came out and cleared the line with no problem The clog came back the second day They cleared the line again and (for an extra $350) shot video of the drain line (my son's house) That clearly showed the culprit - which was roots in the drain came when they said they would came back when didn't solve the problem delivered the temporary and permanent solutions (we haven't done this yet) they aren't cheap - but i like to say "you get what you pay for" read more

Plumber Colton was highly professional and went above/beyond in terms of my expectations. Services rendered included pulling and resetting 3 toilets (one of which required a floor flange replacement), replaced two outdoor spigots, helped to unclog my upstairs bathroom with recommendations to avoid recurrence, switched out my kitchen sink hot/cold (which was installed backwards), and replaced a water line to the sink in my pool house. Will definitely consider using Stewart plumbing in the future should we decide on a bathroom remodel or replace my water heater. Highly satisfied with my experience! read more

I don't leave negative reviews, but I hope this serves as more of a warning. Stewart quoted us $700-765 to snake our clogged main line. It's their business and they can obviously set their prices at whatever absurd level they choose, but setting them that much higher than the average cost for such a service is the kind of information that should be communicated up front, especially when they charge an $89 "travel fee" for coming out. Google the average price for snaking a main line and you'll learn that $700-765 is anywhere from double to triple the going rate. They also attempted to upsell a "VIP package." Annoying. I can't comment on their actual work as I just paid the travel fee and marked it down as a lesson. If you're prepared for ridiculous pricing and upselling of "packages," maybe their work is outstanding and the pricing/hassle of dealing with the salesmanship is worth it to you. I can't speak to that. You should just be aware what you're getting with Stewart Plumbing. read more

I don't normally post any reviews, good or bad, however this was past bad! We paid $90 for a trip charge/ estimate and were very disappointed with their pricing. After using someone else who gave free estimates, we understand why they charge 90 dollars, because they miss so many sales due to price that they have to make something. We moved to Collierville 35 years ago when it was a small town, not a large suburb, however, the person who did the estimate must have assumed that we were rich or just dumb as their estimate was twice the national average for a gas water heater replacement. We sent him away after paying the trip charge. Then we called Home Depot and got a better water heater, a pipe leak repair and installation for a thousand less than Stewart Plumbing. The Stewart person even criticized my nice Ram Limited truck on the way out. We would not recommend them to anyone due to inflated price and unprofessionalism. We recently discovered a leak in a drain line in the wall of our kitchen sink and I was referred to Stewart Plumbing. They were prompt, reasonable and did a good job. Unfortunately there was water damage and we also needed a renovation company to make repairs. While the renovation people told our tenant she could continue to use the kitchen & sink while they got insurance approval to do the work. Our tenant started using the sink only to have water start pouring out. Well it turns out the renovation people ended up pulling all of the plumbing loose causing multiple leaks. The tenant called Stewart Plumbing and they came out to find the mess... they took an hour and reattached everything including the disposal. I got a call from William at Stewart and he said it would be a no-charge trip as he said "it was good business"! Who does that anymore? They came all the way from Southaven to W. Memphis, spent and hour and it was free. It tells you a LOT about Stewart Plumbing! read more

I have never written a review for a service in my life, however I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same horrible service. I hired these guys last weekend to come out to my house for a camera inspection. They said over the phone it would be $360, which I was fine with. The "specialist" John arrived and began placing the camera down my sewer line. He was running into trouble, however after about 30 minutes he was able to get the camera in. He said the line was dry and clear, however he was seeing bright daylight some 20 feet down the line. I told him there were no holes in my yard, especially 4 feet down. He looked all over the front and back yard for about an hour, and even covered up the closed trap by the street with leaves in an attempt to prevent daylight coming through. After about another 30 minutes of backing out the camera and feeding it to the point of seeing daylight, I asked him if he thought the camera might be going up the stack vent instead of down. He said it was unlikely, however possible. I went up into the attic and sure enough, I could hear the camera was rattling around at the top of the vent, and out the roof! He again attempted to get the camera to go down instead of up, however he clearly did not know what he was doing. He said there was something stuck that was preventing the camera from going into the drain out to the street. He said he could clear the line for an extra $580. I told John I would rent a rodding machine from Home Depot for $69, and he can come back with the camera tomorrow. He then said he went to talk to the owner of the company, and he stated they did not want to complete the camera job unless they were guaranteed they would get the work of repairing/replacing the line out to the street. (Because of the risk of the camera getting caught???) John then stated the estimate would be at least $3500 for a small repair, and would go up based on how much of the line needed replacing. Also, I needed to OK the work before they would come back with the camera. I told John how displeased I was that he and the owner only gave me a picture of the sky on top of my roof, and that I had paid for the camera service to inspect the sewer line underground out to the street. The owner then said he would "settle" on only charging me the two hours of service at $175 per hour. ($350 total) I told him again how displeased I was and that I was not going to ever use their services again. I don't know why they have a small amount of good reviews here...unless they were falsely made by someone within their company to make their business look legitimate. Please save yourself the money and the headache by hiring any other plumbing service besides these jokers. I purchased a toilet from Cosco and called Stewart plumbing and asked them if they could install it. They set up an appointment for the next day to come out and give me an estimate. When they arrived they quoted me $800 to install the toilet. I declined their offer and then they tried to bargain with me. I told them what i thought was a reasonable price ($200) and they said they could not do it for that so I declined their offer. They still charged me a trip fee for the estimate. After reading more yelp reviews i think that is how they make their money. I returned the toilet to Costco then purchased another one from Lowe's and they installed it for $79, go figure. In the future I will avoid calling Stewart plumbing. In my opinion they have unreasonable prices and are taking advantage of people with plumbing problems. read more

Stewart Plumbing was great. They came out the same day I called. The damage was to extensive to be repaired that day, but the technician was very informative and gave me a quote for the repairs. Joe came out two days later and he and his team did a great job. The damage ended up being even more extensive than was originally thought. Stewart Plumbing though was able to fix it all in one day, and they stuck to their original quote. I hope I don't have any more plumbing needs, but if I do I know who I'm calling! read more

I had a water main break on a 1" pvc pipe. Technicians that came were professional, courteous and completed the work quickly (note 30-40 min portion of time was for glue drying), total time was about 2.5 hrs. Material for the job was probably less than $40 or less and taxes were around $37. Total cost $574.53! I would never use this company again because the pricing is totally outrageous. read more

My parents contacted this company to come out and work on their hot water heater and before they left, they wanted to charge them $1750 for a condensation pump that needed to be put in due to over flow going into hot water heater drain pan. My parents have lived in this house for 40+ years and have never had to have this piece of equipment installed, all other plumbers over the years simply unclogged the pipe and all worked fine until it got clogged again. My husband went to their house to look at issue and went to Lowe's and was able to buy supplies for less than $9 and had their AC condensation redirected the right way. There is no reason that this company should go into the eldery houses and try and stick it to them, fortunately, I as their child and their son-in-law got involved and was able to save them $1743 and an additional $275 just to light their pilot light on their gas water heater. PLEASE be aware of this company overcharging unsuspecting victims!!! read more

I called Stewart Plumbing Service of Southaven, MS. They answered promptly and professionally. My commode was leaking at the floor and I was sure it needed a wax ring installed or at most the flange repaired or replaced. An appointment was set up for the very next day. I had already removed all water from the tank and bowl of the toilet for them. The young man was very nice. He came in with his book and sat down after glancing at the toilet. He said that was going to figure it for a wax ring replacement and with a replacement of the flange if needed. The price he showed me for the wax ring replacement was $369.00. I politely declined the repair saying it was unreasonable. He said, then it will "Just be $69.95 for the service call." I also declined that since he had not even touched the commode. I then went to Home Depot and "Splurged" by getting the Toilet Gasket Flexible Waxless Seal - Universal Fit kit for $11.95 + tax. It took about 20 minutes. No leaks. I saved more that $340. The sad thing is I figured a plumber, when I called them, would charge me about $100 and I would have paid that. Hopes this helps you in your decision. read more
