My daughter signed up for the 2020 St. George Marathon but of course it was canceled due to Covid19. She was pretty bummed as she had really prepared for it. This marathon offers both a full 26.2 mile marathon and a half 13.1 mile marathon. Fast forward two years later, here we are at last. She originally signed up for the full marathon but she decided to only run the half marathon. St. George has this marathon and all the set up down. They are extremely organized as they host many sporting events all year long. Many years ago my husband ran this marathon to qualify for the Boston Marathon and of course he did very well. The majority of the course runs downhill and is USATF certified. You get the pleasure of running through some beautiful Utah scenery like Snow Canyon. Lots of volunteers and helpful crew making sure everyone stays safe and crosses the finish line. Both marathons end at the Vernon Worthen Park. All runners have access to the post race food, drinks and freebies. In the old days, everyone had access but times have changed. This is one of the best marathons offered out west. So proud to have had my family run both marathons!

Don't let the hills scare you, St George is a fast course if you run it right. I actually ran it this year signing up 10 days before the race. The race director was able to accommodate me with a charity entry last minute. I ran Big Cottonwood 4 weeks before, turned around and ran St George faster and got a PR. Missed my BQ by just a few minutes, but with fresh legs next year it's in the bag. Best race in Utah for organization and support. Excellent expo, volunteers, medals, tee and fabulous start/finish areas and support. My friend also got a 25min PR running it this year for the first time. Can't go wrong running St George. I love this race!! I will be going for my BQ next year with St George!

It's not bad, but I can say I won't be going back…read more I let the young guy at the front desk know I was also going to check out another gym down the road to compare pricing and see which one best fit my needs. I also asked him to check if this was the gym my minor daughter uses, since my wife couldn't remember the name. He said she didn't have a membership there, so I told him I would check the other gym as well because I wanted to sign up where my daughter goes so we could go together. What turned me off was that he started talking negatively about the other gym and their equipment. I told him it wasn't fair to talk down about other gyms like that, and that people will choose what works best for them. I went to the other gym, and it is nicer, cleaner, and $10 per month less. When I got home, I confirmed that the membership we're currently paying for, for our daughter is at Performance Fitness. I'll be moving her membership to the new gym, and I'm sure her friends will follow. One recommendation for the owners: hire someone at the front desk who is more mature and respectful.

I could wax nostalgic about snowball skates, 90's boy bands and the snack counter for hours. So when I stumbled across this skating rink, I was hoping it would bring back some memories. Sadly, this place was super small compared to what I had grown up with. Not that it's a bad thing, but it felt crowded and overrun with children and the seating area is so close to the skating area that there's not really anywhere to go to escape the action. In addition to the skating rink, there are other things you can do-basketball courts, air hockey, snack shop...but it's a little tricky to navigate. It wasn't clear at the front door where to go to check in for anything other than skating. I suppose if you come here regularly you know where to go. But for a first time visitor, I felt a little lost. I think the only reason I would return was if I was coming for a specific activity with someone who knew where to go and how to navigate around. Anyone wanna shoot some hoops with me or skate in tiny circles to Boys 2 Men?

When we arrived we were greeted by the nicest boy named Nash who got us our skates and walked us through the waiver, he even went an extra mile help find us some skates small enough for my almost two year old son. If Nash's boss sees this then make sure that boy gets a raise cause he deserves it. The rink itself isn't very big but if you guy during a slower time then it's plenty big for small little families to skate with their kids while they figure it out. We will definitely be back when we pass through St George again.

There's a path that winds through the park that takes you through the trees, past the flowers and the bushes. There are signs throughout that tell visitors what plants are in the area, so you can better identify what you're looking at. Even though it gets extremely hot in the summer, there's a good amount of shade, so this park can be enjoyed morning, noon and night.

The best time to visit would be Fall because the entire area was full of yellow and orange trees (Freemont cottonwoods). So I had been hearing about these falls from friends and knew I wanted to come and see them…read more These falls are located within Gunlock State Park. In addition to the waterfalls, there is a large reservoir where you can fish, swim and boat. The park is located about 10 miles out of St. George, Utah. My good friend and I decided last spring (2023) to come and see the falls. I checked the park website to make sure they were running. The falls don't run every year so always make sure to check the park website before heading up here. We arrived early afternoon but there were way too many peeps so we left to return later. We came back close to 5:00pm and the crowds had thinned. We paid the $10 fee and enjoyed the falls. You have to climb up to the falls so be sure to wear some trusted footwear so you don't slip. So much water rushing over the beautiful red rocks. It was quite a show and I highly recommend if you find yourself in the area. Remember to Leave No Trace and take care of our public lands.
