The landscape is red / orange and full of places to explore and hike around. There are some neat little caves, arches, and assorted nooks and crannies. Great place for everyone to enjoy. I saw families with little ones climbing and hiking, and adults of various ages traversing the rocks. There is a way to hike up to the top of the largest peak, but it is slippery getting up and down. We only explored a very small portion of the area as we needed to mosey on over to our final destination of Zion but it def looks like something we'd be all-over if we're in the area again. The views are spectacular but be sure to bring water, hat and sunscreen as there's not much in the way of shade--at least in the St George portion we reconnoitered. Happy hikes, kids!

There are times when we prefer a leisurely stroll, likely at the end of a dog leash, and the Virgin River Trail is just perfect for that! There's ample parking and restrooms at the park, then you can hop on the trail in a variety of directions. The path is paved and very clearly marked, so you know where to go. There are even signs along the way directing to different trails as well as information about the length. I especially like the bridges over the Virgin River-they make for a nice photo. Not a lot of shade, so if you're walking in the summer months, prepare for that.

I had an idyllic escape to St. George, UT during my spring break staycation back in March. After…read morearriving in St. George, I beelined to Confluence Park to bike the Virgin River Trail, which parallels the Virgin River for nearly 12 miles. The trail is well-maintained, extremely scenic, passes through diverse Southwestern landscapes, and is relatively flat (with the exception of the detour I took through picturesque Cottonwood Canyon on the Hell Hole Trail). Biking the Virgin River North Trail out and back from Confluence Park is roughly 18.2 miles. I did an extra seven miles on the Hell Hole & Virgin River South Trails to get me closer to 25 miles total. During my bike ride, I encountered photographers, runners, hikers, other bicyclists, and families/groups of people out on leisurely strolls. I would rate the Virgin River Trail as easy and suitable for all fitness levels. I found Cottonwood Canyon and the steep Hell Hole Trail hard/difficult as a novice biker, but well worth the effort! After my bike ride and lunch in St. George, the adventure continued with a scenic drive back home through the Virgin River Gorge (AZ), Moapa Valley (NV), and Lake Mead National Recreation Area (NV).

There aren't a ton, so if you have a larger group, just be aware. And if you don't get a spot because you showed up after everyone else, don't let it ruin your day. There's plenty of grass you can lay your towel down on and claim a piece of land for the day. 2) Bring some snacks and water, there is also a treat shack you can check out if you forget. A cooler will be your best bet though, we ate our Twix candy right when we sat down and it was already melted.. St. George heat is toats cray. 3) It's very affordable, $3 if you're over the age of 13 and an extra $2.50 is you want to ride the slide unlimited amounts. It's pretty fun and only took me 22 seconds to go down, so try to beat that #Aerodynamic. The lifeguards are just young kids, so don't expect your service to be out of this world. They just take your money and blow the whistle if you try to jump off the diving board with goggles on. So again, it's up to you to have a good time and enjoy your day! TIPS & TRICKS: * Bring a basketball or other pool games. There are usually two balls floating around but someone always has them. * The locker rooms are quite clean, feel free to bring a change of clothes if you have somewhere you need to be.

It was a…read moresad day, but I've had many great memories there since then (and even made amends with the boyfriend and we are on good terms now). Anyway, this park has been around forever and whether your memories are of the lush, green grassy areas or the adjacent recreational equipment, you probably have a story of your own. Hopefully there are more happy memories than sad ones like mine. Because it's centrally located and a large size, there are lots of markets or community events that are held here. There is a parking lot nearby as well as ample street parking. It's a great space to bring the St. George and surrounding community together.

There is a farmer market every Saturday. The hours for summer are 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (noon) MDT until October. Winter hours are from November to April 10 am - 2 pm. Closed the last 2 weeks of December and all of January for winter break. This park is huge, plenty of space for big or small families to congregate too. Area to play pickle ball, run, shade to relax, walk with your fur baby on a leash, walk along the pathway with your signing other (you get the idea), safe enough to walk by yourself too and plenty of space to set up family outdoor games. Bathrooms, drinking fountains, and plenty of parking. Parking, little side rant. If you are parking on a Saturday when the area is busy, then it sucks finding a spot. The vehicles start parking at entrances/exits, then it turns into a one-way battle of who is turning around. In my opinion, parking should not be allowed in those narrow entrances/exits. Otherwise, it is FUN, FUN, FUN... and next door to rodeo grounds, too.

We visited Pioneer Park for the first time recently, and while it's definitely a beautiful and…read moreunique spot, our experience was a bit mixed . We didn't really know where to start when we arrived, and there wasn't much direction, so we ended up just climbing the first rock formation we saw. Honestly, if it weren't for a group of people ahead of us, we probably wouldn't have had any idea where to go. I was hoping to make it to the arch, but the climb felt a little too steep and slippery, especially with kids. We were carrying our three-year-old and keeping a close eye on our six-year-old, who was feeling a bit more adventurous than we were comfortable with in that terrain. We didn't make it very far in and mostly just stopped to take a quick photo so we could say we visited. It was also pretty hot, with the sun beating down the whole time, which made it harder to explore and enjoy the park fully. That said, the park itself is really nice, and you can tell there's a lot to see if you're prepared and know where you're going. I'd recommend going earlier in the day, bringing plenty of water, and maybe looking up a map or trail guide ahead of time, especially if you're visiting with young kids. Overall, it's a cool place, but we didn't get to experience it as much as we had hoped. Definitely worth another try with better planning!

Just wanted a different scenery out of Vegas. They also have a garden area. It is worth a drive! No entrance fee. Free parking and they have plenty different areas to park.
