    Sushi for two
    Hari S.

It's been a while since I've had a chance for some good sushi in Copenhagen. And the occasional stay at hotel Tivoli gave me the opportunity. Very good food, very fresh fish and super tasteful. Sushi is one of those things that will tell if it's not super good. This place is not the best sushi place in the world in the traditional way, but very great value and food experience. Yummy!

Terrible. Awful service: As if possible, both neglected (seated at the bar even though there were many tables available) and rushed at the same time (plates taken too quickly). The sushi is good at best - not comparable to anything good in Seattle, New York, LA, or Vancouver. The food is overpriced for the quality and the service. The ambiance was stressed and though there were tables available they sat us at the bar where our view was the black outfits of the rushing bartenders. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're visiting Copenhagen..tons of better places in this foodie town.

Pricey but yummy! They have an authentic yakitori for the sticks and an open kitchen. Almost every stick I had from the Robust meal was tender and juicy. I also got the miso black cod stick and it was amazingly buttery and soft. The outdoor roofdeck overlooks the courtyard and you can easily see the penthouse pool. Blankets are provided for the chilly days. The swings at the bar are fun too! The salmon carpaccio is worth a mention too!

You would think that your paying for the convenient location, and unique ambience with authentic Japanese seating, and adult indoor lounge swings overlooking the river area, but NO! The food is also amazing and I don't know why it's rated as $$$ because the prices are completely reasonable for the area, and the quality of the food, and plate presentation are very nice! I'd dine here again no question.

My Swedish friend and her Danish husband took me to this cool and hip rooftop bar on top of the Tivoli Hotel. It's only 13th floor but you get a nice view of the city. The ambiance is very trendy and it gets pretty crowded. The best part of this bar is the swings.... yeah, they have swings to sit on!!! What a brilliant concept! I really enjoyed sitting on the swing sipping a cocktail and watching the night cityscape....... it was definitely a very memorable and unique experience!

Great place to get sushi with a great view from the roof top. It's not the best sushi I've had but it's s a little better than average for being in Europe. Good taste but no wow -sensation (even though the staff tries to greet everyone in Japanese). I liked the option of having a delivery to the hotel room but when I called they were too busy to bring the food anyway. It brings down the service experience by not keeping up with promises, unfortunately. They have a large menu with many interesting alternatives - dishes for one, two, four or tailored orders. The pictures of each dish makes it nicer and easier to make a choice. A modern way of presenting the various food alternatives. I had the "mixed emotions" with both sushi and sticks of meat, served with rice - a bit pricey for a regular sushi meal but it is nothing to complain about really (apart from the grilled food being cold - but I suppose that's the risk with pre-order and delivery). Next time I will probably go for sitting in the bar to watch the view rather than eating in the hotel room.

A definite five star restaurant! Great view, the food was amazing, even beyond expectations and the service was fast. Loved the interior! Wow! I had heard about this restaurant and it was on my "to visit" list. Yesterday we went there and had the most amazing sushi dinner I have ever had. We had a salad with salmon, crab, avocado and other things which was delicious! The portion was quite large too. Then we had three different kinds of sushi which were all very well made and fresh. And we also had two sticks of beef. Everything was just great! We couldn't stop eating! The service was friendly and they were always coming to ask if we needed something. They brought also warm towels to begin with to clean our hands. They did few small mistakes service wise like forgetting the towels on the table during the whole meal, not bringing any napkins and asking if we want desert but in the end not bringing the menu for us to see. But they were so friendly that I consider that minor details. The interior was great and quite simple. Black chairs and tables. On the other side of the restaurant there were swings where one could enjoy a cocktail and look at the view. Also there was a shoe free area were you have holes on the floor for the legs and the table is very low. So you have to climb in to the table in a way. For smokers they have a large balcony with heating lamps and couches. Generally a great experience, great food, nice views, good service and nice interior! Definitely recommend this to everyone.

I was definitely not expecting this place to be as great as it was. I am from the west coast of the USA and I think I might know a thing or two about sushi :). The presentation was amazing, the dishes they used were cool and the waiters were lots of fun. If you were sick of traditional Danish food for the week, My recommendation is to stop in here!

On my first night in Denmark, I was looking for somewhere fabulous to eat dinner and see the sights. After searching on yelp I found this place and made the short walk to the tivoli where it is located. It's on the 12th floor of the hotel which provides for great views Upon entering I was greeted by the hostess and she hung up my coat an scarf for me, a nice touch to begin with. I immediately fell in love with the decor here. So chic and well designed. A few minutes later I was seated and presented with a menu and an explanation of all the different choices to order from. Everyone spoke English very well and were helpful. After many minutes (perhaps a few too many) the server returned to take my order. Perhaps this is just the culture of the country to take a while to order, but it was ok with me anyway I started with an asahi large Japanese light beer per the servers recommendation. For my meal I had the black Alaska roll with salmon and avocado and an order of spicy pork lettuce wraps. Let me just say the food was phenomenal. This was the best sushi I've ever had, normally I prefer to order a cooked type of roll, but this one was so fresh, pure and flavorful that it was knock my socks off good. The pork wrap was so unique, great flavor and top notch ingredients used With all that being said it was pricey, but with the quality of the food and the view of the city it was worth it. Copenhagen is an expensive place to begin with, so this restaurant is typical of prices for nice restaurants around the area. No matter what, I recommend all sushi lovers come here! It really is foodie heaven.

Trendy restaurant with delicious food and very friendly staff. After diner you can enjoy the view over Copenhagen from one of the indoor hanging rocking chairs next to the bar. Had a great night! Smokers can satisfy their habit on the balcony.

    Sister of Sushi (Sashimi plate)

Food was excellent with very nice presetation. The vibe of the resturant is very trendy. Ordered a combo "Sister of Sushi" Sashimi platter and the Spicy Miso soup. Sashimi came on a platter with crushed ice below served on some large leaves. Very nice presetation and good way to keep the sashimi cool. This was plenty for 2 people. The spicy miso combo was the best miso I have had. Next time in Copenhagen will definately stop here for a bite.

In Copenhagen for the week and had our first meal out last night here - we ordered a set menu and a selection of starters and it was hands down the best sushi I've ever had! The squid was particularly brilliant as was the sticks (the tuna being a favourite) - as full as we were we also of course managed to save room for dessert - we went for the Dark selection and my WORD the chocolate salt caramel and peppermint was amazing!!

    Andrew M.

WONDERFUL!!! Jakob was an amazing Server, the food was incredible. Even the home made beer (ABA) was delicious. We had champagne, starters, sushi and desert and every course was better that the previous.

Since day 1 we've been itching to give it a try but schedule just didn't permit it. So we made it a point to dine here on our last night in Copenhagen. True enough it didn't disappoint. Came in without a reservation on a Sunday night and we were seated right away. We decided to get the "As good As It Gets" combo which includes the following: Sesame Edamame - soya beans, grilled with supreme soy & sesame Hotate Kataifi - scallops, miso aioli, trout roe, kataifi & shiso cress Kani Korokke - crab croquettes with wasabi caesar Ebi Bites - tempura shrimp, miso aioli, chili, lime & coriander Tuna Tartare - tuna, avocado, sesame, miso, yuzu and spring onion on crispy flat bread Shake Tataki - salmon, sake-tamari marinated trout roe, daikon, miso, ponzu & daikon cress Hiramasa Kataifi - hiramasa, kataifi, chives, shiso, truffle oil & ponzu Temaki Setto (create your own handroll) - wagyu tartare, lobster & yuzu, kataifi, cress, soya sesame, avocado and sake-tamari marinated ttrout roe with sushi rice and crispy nori Ebi Panko - tempura shrimp & spicy sauce, topped with avocado New York Subway - tempura shrimp, avocado & spicy sauce, topped with salmon & garlic gindaro no miso, black cod & miso Hotate Bacon - scallops & bacon with miso herb It may sound or look like too much but we definitely devoured every single bit of the set. We paired our meal with Purple rain and espresso martini Excellent service. Excellent food! Definitely a must try. April 2026

Our server was also very friendly and provided good recommendations on the menu. The place was lit dimly like what a bar would be bit it was still packed to capacity that night. This was a lot but we nibbled on it pretty fast. We paired it with my Purple Rain while my wife matched it with her usual Espresso Martini. Everything we tried was fresh and great tasting. Would definitely recommend this spot to any Japanese cuisine lover.

Tried the one in Frederiksberg on a weekend night. The sushi itself was ok, nothing special, but…read morethe all you can eat concept comes with lots of problems you don't foresee at first. 1. Unless you're really hungry and used to eating a lot at a time, you likely won't get to order enough off the menu to compensate for the pretty high price for sushi. 2. They save the very best stuff for a la carte of course, so be sure to check the differences between a la carte and all you can eat menus. 3. You only have the table for 2 hours, much of that goes with figuring out the concept, ordering from the cluttered menu which consists of separate books for drinks, a la carte, a paper to fill out All you can Eat options and a tablet to look at pictures of the all you can eat options, waiting to have your order taken, waiting for the food. (Also, why not just make a paper booklet instead of giving guests a clumsy, germ-filled tablet to click on if you can't use it to interact or order anyway?) 4. You get 1 piece of paper to fill out if you choose the all you can eat option. If you order too much and leave more than 3 pieces of sushi on your plate at the end, you pay penalties per piece. So you naturally don't dare to order too much at first. The waiter picks up the paper and pen when taking the order, so by the time you get the food and can judge if you're still hungry and need to order more, half your time is gone. Then you need to go through the entire process of catching a waiter, getting a new piece of paper, filling it out, hoping you haven't ordered too much. If you're unlucky and your time's running out or you're dining late and the kitchen is closing, you risk going away hungry. 5. Why are there barely any items on sushi menus these days which include seaweed? Most of the rolls were inside out/rice with toppings without nori around. The miso soup in particular looked rather pitiful with you exactly 1 piece of thin nori floating about in a tiny bowl. Not exactly luxurious. The hosomaki I ordered was with nori, but I received it without. By the time I got it the kitchen was closing, so I didn't bother telling the staff about the error. 6. Be ready to pay a lot for beverages here. A simple glass of tap water is 25kr and you will pay that every time you want to refill your glass while eating copious amounts of salty fish. Clever. The reason I came away with a decent experience was that I had other reasons to enjoy my evening, and the staff really did their best although they were obviously stressed out, and most of the food was decent. But all the pointless stuff around the meal ended up wasting time instead of expediting a smooth and pleasant experience, and at the end what seemed like a good deal on paper ended up costing the same with less pieces of sushi than I would've gotten with a regular menu. A regular menu of the same price I could've eaten in peace instead of worrying about how much to order, getting kicked out before I'm done eating, and also having the option of bringing the leftovers home if I so desired for a late night snack. Hard not to feel weird about the experience.
