This was a wonderful venue to see a concert. The lines outside were a little bit of a mess. The staff didn't make it clear until very late that we should not be on the side of the building lined up where there were hundreds and hundreds of people, but rather we should be on the front. But they held the start of the concert and we were able to get in before everything started. Inside the venue, it was nice. The bar staff was working really hard and they were very competent and the restrooms were large and things moved quickly. It's a lovely historic facility that was very enjoyable. read more

I've already heard of the Stifel, but have never been until now I attended David & Tamela Mann's tour. When I first got there I thought the vibe was going to a basic theater setup based on the older appearance on the outside of the building, but man was I blown away when I stepped foot in there! The marble and gold layout throughout the theater was placed perfectly in each designated spot. The layout of the theater was comfortable for me, but there may be difficulties for those with specific needs. Most of the seating is auditorium style seating, but there are about four booth box seating on each floor for wheelchair accessible options or those who are a bigger size. The rows were intentionally built to provide visibility from any row, and I was all the way in the Mezzanine row and I could see perfectly fine. They offer events and showings that would interest different types of people from popular musical events to comedy shows and ballets. The downside to the theater are the concession stands, all of the food and drinks were overly priced and offered limited items. Also, in my opinion, the theater needs better lighting in the isle rows and the entrances to prevent incidents. The entrances to the theater have uneven angles and I briefly lost my footing since I didn't see where the angle changed. Overall I had a great experience at the showing and saw some shows I'd love to go in the coming future. read more

I love the Stifel Theatre for comedy shows & music tours. First time I visited was for Ledesi & Kem R&B tour. It was beautiful! I will be reviewing my last visit. The "Legends & Laughter Tour!" A great time was had. All the comedians were hilarious as to be expected. One disappointment though was the DJ! He didn't know how to read the room, when to cut the music on/off in between headliners or prior to the start of the show. Even the comedians got mad at him! I hope that DJ wasn't theirs and was "just a local" upcoming DJ. Parking: This visit, I opted for street parking although we had a nice little walk in the cold. There were some people on golf carts roaming around offering rides for a fee. You can also opt for VIP parking close to the venue. There are a few lots that offers this option, however they are very limited and must be reserved in advance. The last time I selected that option, It was difficult trying to find a spot & parking my oversized SUV. Food: Opted for drink only. All containers must be opened by workers (including beer in a can). Lines are usually long with limited options to choose from. Seating: Very comfortable, with a drink holder on the back of the seats. You get the seat you pay for. More $, closer to the front. I opted to save a few $ this round and selected back center. Recommendation: Give it a try! You will not be disappointed. read more

I've now been to Stifel Theatre twice for two different comedy shows, and I'm honestly beyond disappointed. Both times, the seating was so tight that my knees were scrunched up the entire show. It was extremely uncomfortable and made it hard to even enjoy the moment. To make matters worse, it was freezing inside I couldn't get comfortable at all. This second visit really pushed it over the edge. The sound quality was terrible. We could barely hear either of the comedians, which completely ruined the experience. It's frustrating to pay for a show and not even be able to hear what you came for. And the steps? They honestly don't feel safe. Walking up is manageable, but walking down feels uneasy and almost risky, especially in a crowded setting. I really wanted to enjoy myself, with my friends because we were celebrating 2 birthdays and I bought 6 tickets but instead I left feeling uncomfortable, frustrated, and let down...again. After two bad experiences, I can't say I'd come back. read more

Such a beautiful landmark theater! This was my first concert performance at the Stifel Theater, also known as the Kiel auditorium for those history, buffs out there. Show me legends have performed here and you can feel the history when you walk in. Tonight, my fiancé and I had a beautiful evening with the legendary singer Paul Simon. The acoustics and view from the mezzanine level were just perfect. It made for a memorable night. We look forward to seeing more acts here as it is such more than what's on stage, it's the overall experience. read more

Shen Yun 2025 !! Awesome performance 10/10. If you are a person that love dance of any kind , this is the show for you. It represents all levels of talent. Totally different from what I thought I was gonna see. The angles, the dimensions, the talent and skill is of pure perfection. The costumes, the backdrops and the in sync of routine was awesome. The storyline and narrative were described with great precision. I wanted to get a full view to see all the design patterns and my balcony row front seat was the way to go. There are a number of different show venues in town. Out west uou have Riverport (Hollywood Casino Amphitheater) and the Factory. Downtown you have the Fox, Enterprise Center and even Busch stadium. On the loop you have Delmar Hall and the Pageant. There are also a ton of smaller venues like Off-Broadway and the Old Rock House. Although people don't realize it, St. Louis is spoiled for different venues. The Stifel Theatre fills a very unique niche. I think of it as the "classiest" venue. It isn't a wild as the the Fox, but it has architectural elements that are more aligned with the Symphony than with a rock band. This works for it and against it. I generally love the size (~3,000) and the mid size shows that it gets. I saw a Kacey Musgraves concert here that was just perfect. However, for some concerts the venue can feel a bit stuffy. Do you stand? Do you stay seated? It can fall in an awkward middle. Most recently I came here with the whole family for Wild Kratts Live 2.0. It was absolutely perfect. Just the right sized venue so you felt close to the stage no matter where you were. Some other points to know. Parking is mixed just like it is if you were going to the Blues games. There are some lots, but you may also have to hunt down street parking. So make sure to take into account you may be walking a couple blocks to get to the venue. They are also going to have you go through bag check and metal detectors. This is pretty standard these days, but again, factor that into your timing. You can't show up right at the start and expect to breeze in. Finally, the concessions are pretty lacking. There is an okay selection of beers and other beverages, but it isn't the same as what you would get at say the Pageant. read more

Stifel theatre is a gorgeous venue. I've seen concerts to comedy shows here and all great. I would say sound quality is best with a comedian performance vs a rock concert. The concessions are pretty good. Parking is probably the worst factor. I've had to leave before and not go to my show due to not finding parking. If there is a blues game the lots are full and the streets are insane. It's worth noting since it can be a pain. read more

This Saturday June 21st I celebrated with an early birthday present. My spouse surprised me with tickets to see Diana Krall, jazz pianist and singer at Stifel Auditorium. It has been a while since we have been to this venue. Stifel is an intimate setting for small performances suited to programs like Diana Krall's piano , a bass player and a drummer. This evening was a little over 90 minutes with an encode song. Diana attributed her start at Jazz at the Bistro here in St. Louis and a lot of her songs to Nat King Cole and Tony Bennet, whom she played piano for early in her career. . Her singing style was similar to Tony Bennett a style that as she sings she brings you in as if she is singing to you directly. An intimacy that comes from an introvert with a great skill and wants to share that talent with the world. She was quiet at times giving her bass player and drummer solos . Truly a professional appreciative of learning her craft and respecting how she got there. If you like jazz you may want to check out one of her events. read more

I have been to the Stifel many times this year and it's really a beautiful venue. Parking is an issue and it can be really stressful when a show is scheduled the same night as a Blues game which happened my last two shows. Once inside the staff is very helpful and friendly to assist you in finding your seats. The seats are comfortable but the bathroom situation is tricky when you have to go back down to the street level which is tough if you're with young kiddos or older adults. Regardless, I always enjoy my time here mostly for the St. Louis Symphony! read more

Stifel is a great place to see a show. I have seen many concerts and comedians here and have enjoyed all the shows. I love that it is a more intimate venue that truly highlights the performer. I recently saw Tori Amos here for the second time and she was amazing! The piano and her singing sounded beautiful in Stifel! You get a pretty good view of the stage from most seats and even if sitting higher up, the stage and artists still seems close. Parking is generally pretty easy and a close walk. The staff are very friendly upon entering and security and bag checks seem to be quick and efficient. Once you enter staff are very friendly and helpful and it is east to find someone to help you find your seat. My only complaint is I am not too crazy about the drink selection. They serve canned beers, canned cocktails and canned wine and I am not a huge fan of canned wine and canned cocktails. Overall, I really enjoy Stifel! read more

Went to see Jo Koy who absolutely KILLED IT, but I'm here to rate the venue and experience the staff provided. I had an overall great experience. Getting into the building and through security was very fast. Nothing special when it came to greeters. I went to get some beverages before taking my seat and the woman who rang me out was nice and informative when I had some questions. Finding my seat was pretty easy doing it on my own, however, when the lights dimmed and other people were trying to find their seats with assistance from ushers it was pretty annoying. They shined their lights through the rows which were BLINDING when you're trying to pay attention to the act. I also have to say that the stadium seating isn't the best. I was completely blinded by the person sitting in front of me for the price that I paid. Maybe it's because i'm 5'2" with no torso and it just happened to be bad luck that the person in front of me is like 6' or her poor choice in hairdos? Note to self: don't be THAT girl. No high ponies for shows people! read more

Wow, every seat in the house is a great seat! Roomy and comfortable except for the folding chairs that they put at the end right on top of you which are a little inconvenient. We watched The Princess Bride with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and it was so much fun. We really had a blast. The conductor was entertaining as he interacted with the crowd, and the symphony was perfection. Thoroughly enjoyed a mesmerizing performance of Carmina Burana by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. That being said, this is review of the facility. The Stifel Theater, also known as The Opera House is a stunning architectural venue in St. Louis, and is an ideal temporary home to the SLSO while Powell hall undergoes renovation. The upholstered seats are comfortable, but lack leg room; I am 5' 3" and barely had enough room and my escort at 6'2" was definitely cramped. There is an elevator available in lieu of walking up many stairs to the balcony. We had a great view from the lower balcony. Concessions were high priced as expected. They must have run out of bottled water, we paid $5.75 for a plastic cup of water. Restrooms were large and well maintained. read more

Saw Tig Notaro/Patton Oswald here as part of the Flyover Comedy Festival. Absolutely breathtaking seats. Great setup.Drinks were good, expensive, but at least good as well. Biggest downside is the limited restrooms. I imagine this venue would be pretty annoying for anyone w mobility issues - there are a ton of stairs and I didn't see any elevators or ramps. Had to go up or down several flights to get to a restroom. There was another event downtown during this show and parking was nonexistent - in addition they shut down 14th making it an absolute disaster, plan to Uber,take the metro or get here about 40 minutes ahead of time if you really want to be safe. A person had a medical event during the show and the staff should be applauded for their quick thinking and getting medical personnel to the sick person. read more

Place was pretty cool. It's not The Fox Theatre, but nothing is. It was a cool place to see a concert. The staff was pretty remarkable too. Everybody was willing to help you find your seats and the restrooms and drinks. The guy working the balcony told us to let him know if we didn't like the view. That made me super curious so a few minutes later, I asked him what he meant. He handed us two tickets that were down on the floor. The concert wasn't sold out so they were letting people move up if they wanted. Pretty great. I would be happy to see anybody play there. read more

I visited here from out of town to see my morning jacket. From first entering to when we stepped outside to leave everything was great. The staff was superb and very friendly. The security was really cool. For this concert we did have to show her vaccination card however it was a quick glance and we were in. After hearing the opening band we were a little hesitant about the acoustics but when my morning jacket took the stage everything sounded fantastic. It was just a perfect evening for that type of music. It was super easy to get in and out of there too. The bathrooms were sparkling clean and there are plenty of kiosks to get a beverage. read more

I was able to experience The Peabody for the first time ever, when I won a pair of tickets to attend a Michael McDonald concert from my employer, Centene. I had no idea what to expect, but I should have known that the tickets would be good, but you never know. I knew my mother was a fan of Michael McDonald, and had never seen him, live in concert. I asked her to attend with me and she was excited. I didn't know what to expect. I knew I wasn't driving downtown, let alone paying for parking. My sister graciously dropped us off and picked us up, thankfully. The outside of the venue was lit to the nines and people were buzzing all around. The excitement was in the air. We walked into the venue and by looking at our ticket numbers I knew we had to go upstairs. I looked around in awe, surprised at how nice the venue was. Once we reached the second floor I stopped someone to ask for assistance. I noticed a little concession stand that sold hotdogs, chips and a few other items. I took note in my head because I was going to come back. The usher took us to our seats on the third floor, which were situated in this like private, spacious box. I was like.....WHATTTTTT. Then she informed us that our seats entitled us to the buffet on the second floor..............you better get out of here!!!! Since we arrived early, on time is the right time!!!! We had plenty of time before the show to catch a bite to eat. We walked back down the flight of stairs to this large room with picturesque views of the city and plenty of standing tables and various seating areas. It was obviously private, in order to gain access into the room you must show your tickets upon entry. We were captivated by the gourmet buffet, it was sprawled across a quarter or more of the room, spread-out over a number of tables, filled with various eats, ranging from sweet to savory, including drinks. Everything was already plated in containers and once a container was grabbed, it was immediately replaced. The food not only looked appetizing, it was delicious!!! After awhile we returned to our seats to enjoy the opening acts. A father and son duo from STL, with the most melodic voices, harmonizing Sam Cook's "A Change is Going to Come". Followed next by Marc Cohn, before Michael McDonald hit the stage and took down the house. It was truly a memorable and highly enjoyable experience. We absolutely loved it!! For some reason I thought this venue was something else, something less than what it actually was. I never wanted to attend any events there because of a misconception I had in my mind. I was proven wrong. I can't believe I had been sleeping on the Peabody all this time. This is truly a great event space. read more

It was gorgeous inside. This was our first time here and hopefully won't be the last. I only gave it 4/5 because of the price of beverages in the Budweiser lounge. We got 2 drinks and a water and it was $50! I was shocked! When we go back I will not be getting any beverages that's for sure! The seats In Mezzanine are close together. It was uncomfortable for my knees. I'm 5'11" and felt smooshed. The building is lovely and there's an elevator as well which was perfect for a swift exit. read more

We saw Matt Rife the comedian here. It's a Beautiful smaller theater for shows. It's intimate enough that you still feel close to the performer. Acoustics are good and spacing between seats rows is enough that your knees are not jammed into the seat in front of you. Unfortunately, they sell popcorn, nachos, pretzels and other snacks. This I didn't care for. It's not a movie theater. Actually pretty tacky for a nicer comedy or music show you have paid good money for. Parking was fairly easy, but could be congested if an event was also going on at Enterprise at the same time. Will definitely keep an eye out for more shows and events here. read more

A beautiful theatre with acoustics to match. A friend and I made the trip over from KC to catch not only my first concert in years, but my favorite active band: My Morning Jacket. We stayed nearby, so it was super easy to get here. We opted for scooters right to the front door, then walked back. Anytime you can take the parking out of the equation, things get easier IMO. This was comparable to my hometown's "Midland Theater," both built around the same time in the late 1920's early 1930's, art deco period. They're both grand theaters that are beautiful inside, and are as good for concerts as they would be for any other performing arts. Being the fact that it's 2021 and the pandemic ever-simmering in the background, they required both masks and proof of vaccination (glad to see it until this thing winds down a bit more). Oddly this was the first time I've been asked for that card since having it for seven plus months. We had great seats that were in the upper deck, but Row B, so the views and sounds were both stellar. I could listen to My Morning Jacket scrape their nails on a chalkboard and still find a way to enjoy it, but the whole ambiance here made for a perfect concert. I noticed quite a few people fumbling around the rows in the dark, which might be more user error than theater error, but it might not hurt to turn up the aisle wattage a touch as people make their way in. I'd go out of my way to come back here and enjoy a show; nice hotels around, an historic theater, and great memories! read more

My husband and I got married here a few weeks ago and it was absolute perfection. The team (Jessi, Jessica and Victoria) were so helpful as we don't live in the area. We had a lot of expectations and specifications of how we wanted the wedding to look, flow, be set up, and much more. They met every expectation and request. We did our cocktail hour in the Kiel Club and reception in the Grand Hall/Lobby. You were able to have as many signatures as we wanted. The food portions were massive and flavorful. They worked with our third-party dessert vendor to distribute the dessert to the guest as they were seated. Our guests were amazed by how beautiful the spaces were and how good the food was. We also requested for additional bartenders so guest did not have to wait a second for a drink. Team again was amazing and so helpful. read more

I was walking by waiting for an event at the enterprise center and asked about seeing the lobby for a brief moment. I have never been and wanted to look into having my students come and see a show next year. I am okay with the answer of no But the way the older gentleman working the front door spoke was not okay. Very rude and not pleasant. Why have the main doors propped open just to be rude. I will not be having my students fundraise and work hard to see a show for them to be spoken to in a rude way. I went to a concert here on a work trip, and was so mystified by the theater itself. From the exterior, the massive columns raise so tall and the building is just gorgeous. Once you get inside, it's like you are transformed into a completely different time and place. The architecture of the building is absolutely stunning, from the roof design, the chandeliers, the beautiful grand staircase and then the inside of the actual theater itself, it feels like you've walked into a movie. Then you have the actual acoustics of the theater itself, which lead for an awesome concert and you had a great view of the stage from and he said that you were in. I would highly recommend going to concerts at Stifel theater as it was a wry pleasant experience. read more

The stage and surrounding area are beautiful, but the seats are old and quite cramped. There were not any cup holders at our seats. The aisles are not lit which caused anyone coming in late to pull out their cell phone flashlights in order to find their rows and seats which was very distracting. There are only restrooms on certain floors, which meant you might have to do quite a bit of walking depending on where your seats are. They stopped serving beverages halfway through the show, which felt quite early. All in all, the experience was okay and I would be willing to go again for the right performer / show, but I think there are better venue options in St. Louis. read more

We drove to St. Louis to see The Last Waltz concert at The Stifel Theater on 11/20/19. The theater was built in the 1930's and is beautiful and grand with classical architecture, Corinthian columns and large statues of the Missouri bears that appear on our state flag in front of the building. The interior is refurbished and stunning - similar in appearance to Kansas City's Midland Theater. I did have a complaint with the legroom which was non existent. The acoustics were great- from the long loud jams of a 15 piece band to the quiet solo voice of Margo Price. The staff and security that we interacted with from the moment we needed help accessing our e-tickets until chatting with a hired STLPD working security outside while we waited for our ride, were all beyond helpful and courteous. PS. The 3.5 hour concert was amazing! read more

I've been a few times before, but this is my first time back since the name change to Stifel Theatre. I utilized meter parking one block over and avoided all traffic. Use this option if you get there a little early! It's a nice size and beautiful on the inside. I love the deep red seats and the gold decor all up and along the walls. The light up ceiling is very cool! This is a place where you can dress up for a night out or rock jeans and a hoodie and you will still fit in with the crowd. A friend invited me to see a comedy show and we were seated in Loge area with a free pre-show buffet. Exciting! The Loge seats were a great view and also very comfy. We were in the front row so there was plenty of leg room (I am short, but friend is taller). The pre-show buffet was good, but not amazing. I have no idea of the cost as I was a guest, but it looked pricey with ot many options. There was roast beef, mushroom ravioli, salad, crab rangoon, mini buffalo chicken sandwiches and a mini brownie skillet dessert offering. I think this could be taken up a notch simply with a side to accompany the roast beef and maybe a second dessert for selection. Also the plates were tiny dessert plates (like you were not encouraged to make an actual plate). There was a server that brought drinks and she was very friendly but slow. read more

Great concert last night at the Stifel as they hosted TOTO in concert. Always such a great venue and love the lounge area for pre-concert mixers! TOTO sounded AWESOME in this theater and it was a truly memorable evening. Kudos to the Stifel for bringing this band back to a PACKED HOUSE! read more
