Step Right Up to the Magic - Circus Flora is a St. Louis Treasure!…read more Under the big top of Circus Flora, you're not just watching a show--you're entering a world of wonder, laughter, and heart that has captivated St. Louis for over 40 incredible years. From high-flying feats to hilarious clowning, it's a spellbinding experience for all ages and a cherished night out that feels both timeless and fresh. At the center of this magic is the phenomenal Jack Marsh, Executive and Creative Director, whose vision and leadership have carried the legacy forward with passion, purpose, and boundless creativity. His artistry, paired with the unwavering support of the Board, has ensured that Circus Flora remains not only relevant, but radiant. But this isn't just a show--it's a community institution. From its deep roots in St. Louis to its partnership with Clowns on Call, the nonprofit program that brings joy and healing to hospitalized children, Circus Flora's heart beats beyond the tent, reaching the places that need laughter most. Justin and I continue to be amazed by how this tradition has grown--not only delighting new generations but creating a beautiful bridge between childhood memories and adult nostalgia. We've seen kids grow up with Circus Flora, only to return with their own little ones, eyes wide with joy. So please--support Circus Flora. Buy a ticket, become a donor, spread the word. Help ensure that the magic of this one-ring wonder continues for generations to come. Because life is better with a little circus in it.

Step up! Come one! Come all to Circus Flora!…read more This family centered circus act is a whimsical ride. There were kids gymnasts, a family who did trapeze, energetic dogs jumping rope, and a lot of good family comedy! The food and drinks looked wonderful but wish I didn't come right after dinner. There is not a lot of parking so plan to pay to park. The restroom options are porta potties. The big top is semi-acessible (walker device). The music is played by a live band but they do bring the house down so bring noise headphones for the little ones.

Of course the event was on one of the coldest night we experience this past Winter in STL. For fashion, I decided to ditch my bulky coat in the truck and take the lighter instead. Fortunately, I arrived early and was able to find street parking close by and didn't have to endure the bitter cold too long Design: The architectural designs are breathe taken! It's something about "antique designs that I am always fascinated with. Food: My friend & I decided to have dinner at the restaurant next door (don't remember the name). I wanted to grab a drink at the Fox, however didn't want to miss out on any of the play standing in long lines. Service: Everyone hustled to get in after going through the metal detector or being scanned by security. There were staff members present to guide you to your seat. Overall Experience: I truly enjoyed myself. I definitely will be back!

Artwork and decor is stunning! This is where you'll find many of your concessions stands as well as merchandise. If you're on the orchestra level, head straight to the back. Otherwise, take the elevator or stairs to the balcony. The rows are set steep, so watch your footing! The Curtain Call restaurant is a nice place to grab a bite before or after. Concessions inside are a bit expensive, to be expected. Bathrooms are located on most levels.

Repertory Theatre of St Louis - The set for Emma at the Repertory Theater of St. Louis

First, the location of this theater is excellent. It's near Webster University in the suburbs, a more convenient area than St. Louis City where other theater venues are located. Second, if patrons go to a matinee, there is plenty of free parking. I went on to the 2 p.m., Sunday afternoon showing of "Emma." There are ways to get discounted tickets at the last minute. I recommend visiting their website for more details on how to do this. I bought a flash sale offering which included three shows, "Emma," being the first one. The show itself was 2 1/2 hours with a 15-minute intermission. I recommend getting everything you need before you go into the theater. 15 minutes doesn't give patrons enough time to get in and out of the restroom or get a drink because of the lines. Speaking of drinks, there were three specialty offerings. Each one had a theme relating to, "Emma." My personal favorite was the Emma Expresso Martini. Almost every seat gives you an excellent view of the stage. If you are not familiar with the layout, show the ushers your ticket and they are happy to direct you to your seat. There were not many open seats. It depends on the production if it's going to be a sellout or not. Evidently, there were a lot of people who are fans of Jane Austen that were in attendance. The costumes and stage sets were top-notch. The scene from the berry-picking party and its aftermath was absolutely hilarious. I loved how the actors interacted directly with the audience as if we were co-conspirators in the events as they were unfolding. There are deviations from Austen's novel; however, I feel this production faithfully follows the spirit of "Emma." In addition to the play itself, the Rep's Christmas decorations were festive and welcoming. If you are in the St. Louis area and love the theater, I highly recommend putting the Repertory Theater of St. Louis on your to-do list.

The staff at the Muny are always so friendly, and I find the tickets reasonably priced. Their box office has good hours, so you can avoid the online fees if you want. When I saw Come From Away, there was a rain delay, and their stage crew worked SO HARD to get the show back up and running. My friend and I were in awe. I wish I could give it 5 stars, and it is a bit of a me problem, but I cannot fit into the free seats. I haven't been able to fit into the free seats since I was a child. My plus sized friends also have troubles. I am 6"5', and my thighs are like 3 inches too long to sit without bodily contortion and bruises. I made it work, because I won the lottery for Jon Batiste and Diana Ross, but ouch. I'd love to see some modifications made eventually to make them more accessible!

I have made friends with other people in the line, and the time passes by quickly. Things to note for the free seats: The earlier you get there, the easier time you'll have finding parking. The Upper and Lower lots are good places to start looking. There is a sandwich board posted with what can be brought in (ex. no aluminum cans, weapons, etc) The gates that let you on the grounds to wait for your seat open at 6 pm. The gates that lead to the actual seats open at 7 pm. The show starts at 8:15, barring any weather delays or technical difficulties. A night at the Muny is so much fun, whether you're in the free seats or paid!
