We came all the way from the middle east…read more After arriving to new york, perhaps because of the long flight, she got congested and had a very bad cough. So we went to the nearest City MD near our hotel, the doctor seemed so terrified knowing that we came from the Arab region and started asking about MERS and things that were completely irrelevant to what was happening to her. Not only that, but he immediately prescribed her an antibiotic without any blood tests or thorough check up. So the next day she took the antibiotic + the cough syrup he prescribed her and her situation got worse. Way worse than anyone can imagine. Upon recommendations and reviews we contacted Dr Primas for urgent in-house care and not only did they give us a quick appointment but they also welcomed us to the clinic in case the time was not suitable. I am not going to take longer than I did but he actually asked about her entire medical history and was completely considerate of the entire situation and recommended a treatment only after assessing her medical condition. He usually prefers not to treat his patients with an antibiotic which is what we always prefer as patients so it was perfect. The antibiotic prescribed to her gave her severe effects and nausea so Dr Primas treated her with a shot (injection) and she literally felt better in 5 minutes. He was also kind enough to prescribe me medications to avoid getting a flu while studying for my course in new york city during that period. He also does not charge for follow ups after the first appointment, in case you needed to see him again. I left his clinic so happy and relieved and took her to the park right accross from Dr Primas building for fresh air, and we enjoyed the rest of our time together. BUT IT BLOWS MY MIND THAT DR. GOLDBERG RELIED ON A THIRD PARTY TO VET HIS ANESTHESIOLOGIST! That's really scary. Imagine if you're having a procedure under anesthesia in an office and something goes wrong. You're not in a hospital setting. Can you imagine if your doctor, who you trusted, did not independently vet the anesthesiologist?!?! In my opinion, VIP medicine is not good medicine (Prince, Michael Jackson), and I don't trust doctors who model their practice on VIP medicine. The office was in a convenient location and the receptionist was nice and professional. The waiting room was nicely decorated and people were friendly. I spoke to another patient who was good friends with Dr. Goldberg. I was taken aback by the conversation. Maybe you're thinking "who becomes good friends with their gastro"? Well, it turns out that the patient was friends with Dr. Goldberg first and apparently Dr. Goldberg doesn't have a problem treating his friends. It made me uncomfortable and it felt like Dr. Goldberg doesn't have professional boundaries. Most medical ethicists would agree that doctors shouldn't be treating their friends. But if this is common practice for Dr. Goldberg, it would explain why he has so many good reviews: are his friends writing reviews for him? Because the reviews just don't match up with my experience. Dr. Goldberg does not take insurance. If you're lucky enough to have a PPO and you only care about location, then Dr. Goldberg may be right for you. If you are looking for a patient centric doctor then I would look somewhere else. If you're looking for an "important" doctor, I think there are a lot doctors in the city who have degrees from higher ranked schools than the school that Dr. Goldberg attended or who have impressive positions at hospitals. The best hospitals in the city also offer concierge services for patients who can afford it. So whether you're looking for VIP treatment or whether you are like me and you're just looking for a trustworthy and professional doctor, I think there are much better options out there. No matter what, DO YOUR RESEARCH. I did not know about Dr. Goldberg's association with "Dr. Disease" prior to my visit to his office. If I had, I never would have trusted him.

I remember once coming in to see Dr. Hentek with a chest and sinus infection. She saw me, gave me a perscription and left the office. When she came back in the exam room, she noticed I was in pain and couldn't stand. She asked me about it and wrote me a perscription for that as well. . Dr. Hentek saw that I was in pain and treated me for that distress. I'm thankful for her genuine concern. I realized that it didn't occur to me to ask her about anything for my back because I'd been told that the pain would pass by another physician and that I should just take Alieve. I'm a person of color and as such, I've experienced doctors who are hesitant to perscribe pain medication so I subconsiously didn't ask even though I was in the doctor's office. I have changed general physicians though. I had a visit with Dr. Hentek after I'd lost a significant amount of weight 30+ lbs. Dr. Hentek made a comment to me about making an effort to loose more. I shared my regiment and told her about the results I'd had in the previous months and instead of suggesting alternate options she just told me about the negative effects of excess weight and told me to loose more. Of course I have some idea of the negative effects of excess weight otherwise I wouldn't have embarked on the effort I did to loose the weight I had. Physically the doctor is larger than I am so I felt she should be a little more sensitive and construct in offering feedback on weightloss. I was pretty insulted so I'm no longer seeing Dr. Hentek. There is also evidence of highly-questionable documentation. He misrepresented the nature of a customer service complaint call requested by me to discuss issues with being given misleading info regarding the IV ketamine infusion procedure and what is actually done (they apparently don't do infusions, but they charge for "infusions". They actually just jab you with an IM/SUB Q dose and then leave and do not come back to monitor or assess safety for discharge). I honestly mulled trying infusions for a few months before desperation made me cave. His CYA documentation says he came back and assessed me prior to being "discharged". I was "discharged" by an assistant who asked me to leave because she needed the room about 30 min after the jab. I emailed him and requested a discussion about my concerns, which he granted. He called me while he was on vacation out of state from a private cell number at no particular predetermined time. He agreed to my request for a partial refund. Did not explain the discrepancy between what they tell you to expect, and what they actually do so my assumption is they cut corners intentionally to save time and effort since they double-book that slot. But, I thought he responded non-defensively and I used him again for a procedure later. They then went ahead and submitted a claim as a "telehealth visit" for that informal complaint call 2 months later. Also created a retroactive "telehealth visit" note stating he used HIPAA compliant audio & visual equipment and that he was in his "office" at time of visit. The summary says we talked about strategies and plans to manage my shoulder. What?! Also says that I was informed that they were going to bill for that visit and that I agreed to it. I'm honestly shocked. I have spoken to my insurance, also spoke to MPM newly-hired billing-specialist. They said they would withdraw the claim and "correct" the documentation. It has not been withdrawn or corrected, and has actually been resubmitted after telling me they would withdraw, and it's been processed and potentially partially paid (although ins says not yet sent). So they lied in an effort to recoup my partial refund, probably. Back in the Spring, I spoke to their newly hired billing/reimbursement specialist who was hired to help clean up the mess with their claims. In a follow up call, when nothing was moving, he stated that the MDs have had poor oversight over their billing, and that after reviewing their tax documents, stated that they were grossly underearning. So it make sense they will look for ways to invent ways to scrape in any extra cash. Insurance is not aware of a request to withdraw. I did submit to my insurace my dispute to this claim, the emails leading up to call and post-call emails regarding the partial refund. Informed them that he was not in NY state and was at his parents home in Minnesota at time of call (he told me this and I actually gave him the option to defer discussion, but he said it was ok). This whole experience feels like the true meaning of being gas-lit. To read a note saying I agreed to something I did not agree to and to read a note that has nothing to do with what we talked about is stomach-turning. I honestly was willing to move on after our discussion, I thought he was non-defensive, and seemingly accepting accountability for a sloppy and misrepresented service. It was actually commendable at the time. So I'm really let down by him. I had about 6 real visits with him and the claims issues have also been a mess, careless, missing vital info, lack of responsiveness from their office. It's nearly a year later and it's not fully resolved. It has taken up hours of my time to get them to move on this. I went in hopeful, seeking relief, but got added stress instead. I'm an RN for 33 years, and have had an unfortunate number of MD visits since my general health started to tank in the past 3 years. I'm pretty discerning from my professional experience of what makes adequate, great, or inadequate care. Part of the service experience is not just the medical piece. It's the entirety of the experience. I know others who have liked MDs but are blindsided by the lack of care and ethics in the financial aspect leaving the clients in very stressful situations. It is not worth it in the end.This is by far the most distasteful experience I've had to date. And after coming in hopeful and hearing such positive things. They claim to be ethical and transparent. There was nothing ethical or transparent about this whole debacle. I could not, in good conscience, recommend to anyone.

They don't rush you and really make sure all your questions are answered. Coming from NJ it was a little bit of a hike but well worth it. Dr. Siefferman diagnosed me with more things that other doctors didn't catch. I also love that Dr. Nino their Rheumatologist works hand in hand with Dr. Siefferman. They came up with a wonderful treatment plan for me while working together to figure out what's best. I did get a procedure done in the office which the dr learned more about my case. The office is clean and the front staff and medical assistants are so sweet as well! They worked with our scheudle so that I don't have to drive in multiple times but once for 2 appointments. I highly recommend them! And am very happy that I found a new Rheumatologist and pain management doctor! Thank you Adam, Dr. Siefferman, and Dr. Nino for all your help.
