Sasha was lovely but did not seem to be very qualified as a Masseuse, especially not for what I paid. I tipped $20 because I was embarrassed being handed the machine to pay and really didn't feel like tipping anything. I have been for a lot of massages and was very disappointed after reading so many positive reviews but I did not read any reviews about Sasha in particular. I thought the ambience was lovely. The tent was lovely and Sasha was polite. The pressure was so inconsistent and when I asked a couple of times for a firmer massage eventually she just got softer and softer with her touch and so I stopped trying to give feedback...basically it was the oil being moved around my body like an oil rub. Not a massage at all. I think I was more stressed out when I left than when I got there ...all I wanted to do was get out of there and it to be over and I even thought of just asking her to stop, but I was worried that I would hurt her feelings. At the end of the massage when she was quietly speaking and ringing the chimes, I couldn't hear a word. I just heard the zipper to the tent opening and was thankful it was over.. Sasha mentioned her interest in Chinese medicine, and when I asked her about pressure points on the body, she said, she only knew about the Chinese meridians on the body. I think that's where her interest lies, not in massaging. I don't know if she was tired or just had no interest in really trying to put any energy into what her hands were doing, but it was awful. I would've gotten more benefit just sitting in a hot tub. Anyway definitely would not be recommending. I know different people like different types of massages, but I didnt pay to get an oiled body rub. so disappointing.... read more

Such a wonderful experience. The massage was amazing - one of the best I've ever had - and the location is stunning. A beautiful, airy canvas tent nestled in a small botanical gardens with the most awesome view across Clatoquat Sound. Mary is a great massage therapist, doing some deep work on specific areas while also doing full body work. I had a 90 minute session and I left relaxed, rejuvenated and relieved of multiple aches and pains. I'd highly recommend that anyone looking for a massage in the Tofino area give Stillwater Massage a call. read more

After backpacking half the West Coast Trail, every muscle and joint in my body ached. A few days later I booked a 60-minute aromatherapy massage with Mary at Stillwater Massage, and it was absolutely outstanding! I really wished I'd had time for a 90-minute session. Mary used multiple massage techniques based on the various types of stiffness and pain I was experiencing, and was able to release a lot of tension in my muscles. I especially appreciated the warm towels she applied to each muscle group after she worked on it.
