Now it's all a money grab, and a money grab that involves the least amount of work. This place is a joke. Was referred there because Ferman Chevrolet suggested them as Stingray has a direct contract with the extended warranty company (Ally) that I have. I've had a MAP sensor that continued to toggle the check engine light on and off. Most recently, it went on, I cleaned it with MAF spray and it didn't come back on for 2.5 months. Then the check engine light would come on and go off 2-3 days at a time and all due to the MAP sensor, code P0106. So I thought that Stingray would be able to CORRECTLY diagnose and use the extended warranty. Instead, they claimed it was due to an aftermarket filter (K&N) or it needed cleaned. Really, a K&N filter that HELPS performance and was only 2 years old. They wanted $140 + taxes to clean an air filter...no thank you. Unfortunately for me, I still had to pay the diagnostic part which was quoted at $229. I went to pay and here it was $299.96 for which the service adviser said the quote was without tax. Common courtesy would've have been to provide all the costs including tax upfront but this was not surprising for this advisor (Edgar) since he was God awful at responding. It's a shame he had to apologize 3 times for his lack of response. Upon getting it back home, I cleaned the air filter, cleaned the MAP and MAF sensor and unsurprisingly the check engine light came back on with the same code within 2 days. I then went and purchased a new MAP sensor, replaced it myself and guess what, no check engine light. It's amazing how a novice and ChatGPT can correctly diagnose the issue but Stingray remains clueless. Proceed at your own risk. read more

I am filing this complaint regarding a recent service experience that involved poor communication, inaccurate information, and lack of follow-through from the service department. On Friday, I scheduled a service appointment after speaking with a service advisor (Sean) about a recall and a check engine light tied to a part under warranty. I was told bringing it in Monday would be a quick, no-cost repair. On Monday, I dropped off my vehicle with Shannon and was told I'd receive a call when it was ready. I received no updates. Around 5:50 PM, I called and spoke with a female representative (no name provided) who said there was no status update. On Tuesday, I returned expecting my vehicle to be ready after receiving messages saying it was, but that information was inaccurate. The vehicle was still not ready, and I struggled to get clear updates from Shannon. I was later told my vehicle had been moved back in the queue while other vehicles were prioritized, without being clearly communicated. On Wednesday, I spoke with Matt, the service manager, who acknowledged the communication failures, which I appreciated, though the inconvenience had already occurred. After being without my vehicle for multiple days, I scheduled a 1:00 PM pickup, but no one arrived and no communication was provided. I also attempted to escalate concerns to General Manager Dallas Godwin via email and in person but received no response until after my vehicle was picked up. Since then , I've already picked up my vehicle and in-fact was charged 232$. Based off my opinion and my experience, they are quick to take your vehicle in for service but lack setting up expectations and relaying important information about the process. In my opinion they make it hard to utilize warranty coverage that was purchased from a direct Chevy dealership with brand new vehicle. I am requesting acknowledgment of these issues, improved communication practices, and a formal response from Joel. read more

Thee absolute worst service department ever. THEY ARE LIARS and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Their ignorance will cost you thousands of dollars more than you'd pay elsewhere. I wouldn't let this team work on another vehicle ever. I had to return to the shop 4x for the same issue because they are too stupid to repair the First 3x. When they returned my car they left all their trash inside along with cracking my windshield and washer, then denied doing so. If you like your vehicle, don't bring it to this Clown-shop. I feel like the energy that was given was happiness because a vehicle was being purchased. I don't know what kind of inspection was performed and a day / two later see that the transmission is slipping and then to be told we do a look over and doing a major repair wouldn't be work it and most times many vehicles are sent back to auction. It seems like her you signed and that's it. There was no attempt to have their mechanics look at it just hey did you purchase the warranty? I will be looking into what laws surround this. I get as is with the assumption that an inspection is done before the vehicle leaves the lot. Not we did an oil change and changed a brake pad. I wish more accountability was taken. I was just recently in the service department just for a routine service and oil change. I was the only person in the entire service department, except two ladies sitting behind the desk, yakking and gossiping. They looked at me three times and decided to ask me if I needed any help when I had decided to walk out the door. Had my Tahoe towed to Stingray service department due to Key fob not seeing to start they had my vehicle 6 days . The only way i could get feed back was to call at least twice a day before i received return call . they reprogramed key fobs and charged me for it witch was not the issue because the fob would lock and unlock the car and open rear hatch. Original problem was would not see fob to start the Tahoe . they had to change the BMC module and reprogram key fobs second time . what they charge was very high compared to what they had to do. from researching the issue this is common issue with GM 2021 2025 Tahoe and Cadillac's. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. Purchased a used vehicle from Stingray (June 25) and was told everything was thoroughly inspected. They stand by their mechanics. I have only driven the vehicle for 850 miles and now there is a check engine light on. When I call the dealership all they say is that we didn't purchase an extended warranty. I originally purchased my vehicle from them a couple years ago and I've been going back-and-forth to the service center with no issues. Whenever there was a repair that could take a long time, they would provide a loaner vehicle so that way I can get to and from work. This latest time. 12-19-2025,I brought my vehicle to them and told them exactly what the issue is based off a previous diagnostics and a well know GM issue. They said they needed to have it for at least a couple of days and charge me over $250 to diagnose the issue. They also said would not let me use one of their loaner vehicles. They also said it may take 2+ weeks for them to actually get to the repair when it was diagnosed! I explained to them that I cannot be without a car for two weeks and that I would need a loaner. I said I could even reschedule around when a loaner would be available however, I was told that loaners were only for warranty work and they don't have any available fort case. After taking a couple days to think things through, I feel I need to share this. I found an ad from Stingray Chevrolet on Facebook. It said voucher for $2,500 and $1 down. The ad I saw said they didn't go by credit but by your job. I have attached the messages to this review. They lie. They lie to get you to come out and if they can bribe you to come out, they can talk you into a new vehicle. I asked specific questions in messenger and got responses. All bull crap. I wasted time and gas only to be turned down because my credit wasn't at least 500. Having a co signer wasn't even mentioned. I will get my score up and when I do, I will not be giving my hard earned money to this dealership when I have plenty close to my home. I had to leave in my car that sounds like it's about to fall apart. I have a new grandbaby on the way and wanted something more safe for my grandchildren. I will most likely take my best friend up on her offer of co signing for me but it will not be this dealership. I'm angry I was lied to. Then I wonder if they change the prices of vehicles so people think they are saving $2500. A lady next to me got approved and they didn't offer her the $1 down payment either. All I can say is once the sale is complete you are history. I recently purchased a used Chevy Colorado that had a very good carfax report. Driving home from the dealership I had a problem at 65 mph on interstate 4. I called them the next morning and asked to speak with the salesman. They left a message with him to call me which he never did. I finally got ahold of him and explained the problem. I ask him to see what could be done to resolve the problem and the get back to me. He never called back. with check engine light on I took it to my local Chevrolet dealer and they pulled several codes relating to defective timing chain and camshaft / crankshaft timing issues. I have to believe those codes were in place before I even looked at this truck. I am having it repaired now at the tune of $6000.00 + and they still have not responded to my calls and emails. If this problem happened several months after the purchase I could just accept it. This problem happened minutes after the purchase. During the test drive I should have driven on the interstate at 65 to 70 mph. Their customer service is non existent. BE VERY CAREFUL. Do not buy unless they offer at least a 30 day warranty or a 30 day return policy. I wished I would have demanded that. If they would not offer that I would have not purchased. read more

I've been buying vehicles from Stingray in Plant City for the last ten years, but after the last vehicle I'll never set foot on the property again. I normally buy new vehicles, but the particular truck I was looking for wasn't available, and after assurances about the certified used vehicle program were given, I purchased a use truck. I immediately began having issues and was forced to return to the dealership the next day. After a total of 4 service issues in 90 days, two of those for the same issue, I was forced to call Chevrolet for help. During my conversation with the manufacture I was told the dealership submitted incomplete records and was not documenting the full extent of the service required. The level of support Stingray has provided is honestly pathetic. Repairs to this trucks have created an almost constant disruption with serious repercussions. Many of the people reading this will have worked in customers service or retail, and know first hand that product issues can arise from time to time. How a company responds to and corrects those issues is what determines their overall quality. Car buyers should be forewarned that Stingray Chevrolet is a very low quality company. read more

I have scheduled service appointments twice now where I informed my service advisor that I needed either a loaner or rental in advance. The first time time it was with Christian. I scheduled on a Friday and when seeing Monday, I was informed he was no longer there and they didn't have a loaner. After waiting almost an hour I was finally driven to Enterprise for a rental. Today, I had a rescheduled appointment with Ray. I again informed Ray in advance that I would need a loaner or rental and he said no problem we'll get you a loaner. I show up to my 730 appointment to Ray not being there yet. After about 15 min I asked if someone else could assist me because I needed to get to work. Which they did get someone. When I advised about a loaner he said they didn't have one and no notes were left by Ray. Apparently, Ray has jury duty today. You are well aware in advance that you have that you have to attend. To make promises that you leave no notes on is not acceptable. I am don't bringing my car here for service. I would rather pay to have things fixed then deal with unkept promises and the hassle. read more

Took our Colorado Diesel in for repair today. Turns out mice or squirrels had chewed through some of the wiring causing a Stabilatrack failure. I can't judge what an equitable price is to fix but it does seem that over $800 is excessive. I don't see that any wiring was replaced so I assume it was patched which doesn't intuitively feel good. We are in the market to buy a mid-size SUV so went to the showroom to see some cars that might fit our needs. The showroom was crammed with race cars and collectible vehicles. I don't want a damn race car. Guess I'll have to go to another Chevy dealer or another brand to see a mid size SUV. This review is for the service department. We had a 10am appointment today. It is 3:40pm and we are still in the waiting room. There has been no communication about what is being done. We have asked twice for an update. The first time was after 3 hours of waiting. We were told all the service techs had gone to lunch. Are you kidding me??? After 4 hours the program manager seemed to notice we had been here a while and asked us what we were having done. He went to check on things for us and came back to tell us what was happening, but still no time estimate. After 5 1/2 hours we asked our contact person again and she had no clue what was even being done or how long it would be, nor would she check. I was interested in a new Corvette...a specific black on black Stingray 2LT. Before driving there, I confirmed with the person who answered the phone that it was still available. She spent several minutes checking with several departments to make sure it was. I told her I was going to drive about 45 minutes (it actually took an hour) to get there, so I had to confirm. She said "yes...it is definitely here. We have you scheduled for 3 o'clock to test drive it." Based on what she told me, I drove all the way there. My appt was with a guy named Shannon. The first thing he said to me was "she told you the black one is gone, right?" I told him it was the contrary and that I drove an hour to get there to see that car which she confirmed was there are ready for me to see. I cannot believe they pulled that stunt. I brought my new 2021 3LT Z51 C8 Corvette in to have warranty work done to fix my hard top convertible that stopped working. They promised once parts were in it would be completed in two days. I gave them an extra day to play it safe since they aren't willing to give a loaner vehicle. It ended up taking a full week. (Claimed they were sent a wrong part and had to wait for another one to arrive) This is all weeks after I brought my car in originally to make sure they knew what parts would need to be ordered. However, That's not the reason I'm leaving the negative feedback.... I've NEVER picked up any of my vehicles from a manufacture dealership in WORSE shape than I dropped it off in! If I can attach pics you'll be shocked to see how dirty and nasty my car is! They ordered a new trim piece for inside of the car, which is clearly not sized and or fitted correctly which anyone can clearly see with their plain eyes. They also have BAD black grease stains all over my natural dipped sueded microfiber Alcantara leather Interrior which I'm not even sure will come out! I've never not been offered a loaner, a basic wash, or been updated like a customer should when they spend over $100,000 on a car with a manufacturer... I'm not sure if this is a quality control issue or what but I had a lot of faith originally in this dealership with the title Stingray Chevrolet. Besides the zero communication( I had to call them each week for an update) before picking up my car today, I asked if They could have detail quickly do a hand wash and Said I wouldn't even mind paying for it, my service advisor Ashley said that she'd "ask" and when I showed up I was told she said that they couldn't.... They had the entire day to wash the car and when I showed up, detail was cleaning other cars....It just made my experience that much worse to see the lack of care for customer service and warranty work for an almost new vehicle. This is the dealership Chevrolet decided to bring the New Z06 to? (None of their employees even know about this by the way) I was looking forward to coming up there to see it later this month with some friends but now I'm not sure if I even want to go back... read more

I haven't been blocked on anything since our president blocked me from commenting on his twitter feed, so I was pretty sad about that. I will end up giving Stingray a shot at earning my business simply for their inventory. It's rather large. I live a few blocks from Ferman here in Brandon, but they ARE NOT even going to get one shot at me. Not today, tomorrow or ever, because (insert snake emoji here) they're not cool. From a former insider perspective. 0/10 I would never shop there. Maybe Stingray was just having a bad day when I visited. I know to make an appointment first, and I will do so when I'm ready once again. I will update at that point. I probably won't let them know that I blew up their review before I go, because that is a douche move. We were looking to upgrade my Tahoe and found a 2019 Tahoe at Stingray Chevrolet that I was interested in buying, I was approved for financing before even stepping foot on the lot. I test drove the vehicle and told the salesman we were interested buying it, he did not suggest going inside to discuss the sale, and told us that the listed price was non negotiable, because this Tahoe, which has been sitting on their lot for four months was "like gold" lol.
