Instead of shortening the straps down at the bottom, she wanted to cut them on top of the shoulders and leave a seam where there should be NO seam. She basted what she wanted to do and they were about 1" off from matching each other. Looked horrible. She didn't pin where she needed to take it in on the sides and got it way too tight (accused my daughter of not bringing a bra when she tried it on which was not true - she wore the bra she was wearing for the wedding). Where she took it in, she made darts and left excess fabric showing, sticking out at the top. She was told to to let the dress out because it was way too tight. When the dress was picked up, we are fairly certain that she didn't touch the dress since the last fitting and is still a far cry from being right. We have 5 days until the wedding and a dress that we will have to do our best and try to get this to look right. She charged way too much for a worthless and crappy job. DO NOT USE her for anything!!!

Luckily, Mark, the owner at the time, made it as right as he could, and took responsibility for the mistake and the poor behavior of the employee. However, that employee Craig, has since bought, and now runs the company. One of my remote controls isn't working. I thought there was something wrong with the batteries and I couldn't figure out how to open the remote so I reached out to the owner and he told me about unscrewing the tiny screws in the back. Before I was able to ask where I could get these specialty batteries, he claimed to have customers who haven't had to change the batteries for 20 years. Since I have a 10 year warranty I asked if they could send me a new remote control; he claimed that the remote controls weren't included in the warranty. Throughout this phone call the owner of SUN & SHADE AWNING LLC SouthWest (SW) Michigan was extremely argumentative and even accused me of having an attitude problem, when I was just trying to figure out how to rectify the problem of the broken remote control. Then he hung up on me and wouldn't respond to my messages. Fortunately I was able to find the company that distributes the remote controls and order one directly through them; they were helpful and easy to work with. Unfortunately, the remote is quite pricey so it's a bummer that not even three years down the road, I had to order and pay for a new remote. I wish I'd never purchased this custom item from SUN & SHADE AWNING LLC SouthWest (SW) Michigan because when things go wrong, I have no choice but to interact with their belligerent owner. My husband and I are from out of town and are staying in town for work. We have majority of our belongings stored in our vehicle because I had just arrived. As our clothes were washing we decided to organize the vehicle a bit so it wasn't in disarray. Mind you the business was about to close in 30 mins when we started organizing our vehicle. It's the end of the day and customers are slowed. I'm guessing by the way he acted that he was the owner. The owner came out and berated us and told us in a very rude tone to take our stuff to the car wash because he didn't want us taking up the space next to us. Then, continued on saying he "hates people like that", that it's disgusting when people are disrespectful (referring to us). Treating us like we're inhuman. We were being as quick as possible and actually did consider our surroundings. He could've been less rude and embarrassing by telling a woman and her granddaughter how much "hate" he has towards people like me and my husband. They look d uncomfortable by the behavior as well. He was fuming. Also, almost got into another tiff with a woman over bringing her laundry in and not drying it fast enough. Very unwelcoming, unprofessional, and I would not recommend if you're not from the area.
