Was great dealing with these guys, called them up and talked to them about the trailer I was interested in before driving up from Toronto. They had pulled the trailer in and did all inspections before I got there. Made the payment and I was on my way. Friendly staff and very helpful setting up the trailer to fit my truck setup. I took my trailer there to put on new tires and do a bearings service. The technician told me that I have to change the brakes and bushings as well (tandem axle) and somehow that will incrementally cost an extra $4500 (changing back plates and bushings) on top of the original job for tires and bearings (should be noted brake parts cost $250 for 4 wheels on Amazon, and bushings are not that expensive). I wanted to cancel the whole job but they had my trailer and forced me to take the tires and charged me an inspection fee on top (somehow putting the drums back on is an extra 1.25h on top of the tire installation where the tires are already off)...... I am not even sure if they serviced the bearings... To put it mildly I do question their integrity given this behaviour and the prices quoted for changing the electric brakes and knowing what it actually takes to do it... I hoped I misheard but they certainly did not correct me when I repeated the price back to them... I went there based on their reputation and I am very disappointed by the experience. $4500 is quadruple what would cost to do disks and rotors on 4 wheels on any car which is quite a bit more complex, let alone electric brakes on a trailer so in my view we are talking orders of magnitude difference... read more

It's too bad I can't give zero star rating. DO NOT go to Stittsville Trailers! We took a used hybrid camper trailer that we recently purchased to Stittsville Trailers to have them check it to make sure that the camper is safe to drive. At the same time, we ask them to switch the newer tires from our old tent trailer to the hybrid trailer as they were the same size. The service department called us to let us know that the axle on the hybrid trailer is bent and needs replacing. We waited 5 days for the new axle to be ordered and installed and was charged over $900.00. When we got home, my husband checked the rating on the tires on the hybrid and noticed that they were not the correct tires for the trailer (too small). I called Stittsville Trailers back to find out why they didn't check the tires before they installed the new axle and to let us know that we needed to replace the tires. I spoke with Orville, the owner, and was advised that they don't check the tires if the customer supplies them. I reiterated that the whole reason we bought the hybrid camper in was for them to check to make sure that everything is good and safe with the hybrid. I asked if this should have been part of their service check? Orville replied that "they don't check tires if supplied by the customer". I was not amused by his reply so I asked him "if the customer supplied tires for a lawn mower would they install it on the trailer"? According to Orville "yes, they would"! I told him this is the stupidest thing I've heard and he didn't agree. Stay away! read more

Brought my brand new SUV in to get a brake controller put on it. It was a very easy job, a plug and play task because the SUV was already pre-wired at the factory. When I came in that morning, I spoke to the woman at the Parts/Service desk and told her very clearly that I wanted the brake controller mounted on the left side just above the parking brake. I also told her that I was nervous about them drilling holes into my brand new SUV dash and wanted the placement to be right. The job didn't take very long because it was as very simple, all the tech had to do was open a panel, connect two plugs and drill two holes for mounting and install a couple of screws but still things went wrong. After the job was finished and I went out to get back into my SUV, right away I couldn't sit as I normally do because they had mounted the brake controller very high and right up underneath the steering column and it was pressing against the top of my left knee. It was no where near the parking brake but at least 16" above it and as close to the steering column as possible on the left side. Also, my brand new SUV had big muddy prints on the driver mat side that the Stittsville Trailers Technician had left behind. He clearly didn't bother to wipe his muddy boots off or put down a paper mat before driving my car into the bay. Not too impressed with that. Then on top of it, after the brake controller installation, the SUV's central computer all of a sudden was giving me all sorts of screwy numbers. This apparently happens after a brake controller is installed on the newer vehicles as sometime it affects the electronics. While that isn't their fault, it would have been nice to know that I would have to do a master reset of my vehicle's system to get the system operating correctly after the brake controller install. Had to go and get this sorted out at my dealer which took more time out of my day. I did call back to complain and the man who answered the service line wasn't interested. No comment when I told him about the wrong location for the brake controller and the muddy boot prints. I ended up having to move the brake controller myself and have put plugs into the holes they drilled and am using velcro to keep the brake controller from banging into my kneecap. After this experience, I wont' be recommending this business to anyone. read more

I just got these guys to retrofit my little utility trailer with a longer tongue and rack. It is now the neatest little canoe trailer I could imagine, and one with a storage box under the canoe. They did the work for a very reasonable price (though it was a bit more than what they quoted) and though they forgot to service the wheel bearings (they're doing that next week) I couldn't be happier with the trailer. read more

Went on recommendation from others to get a trailer hitch installed. Driver's side Electric window did not work, did not own up to problem (certainly worked before-hand). After checking enstallation afterwards, they had forgotten to 2 bolts on the underside of the bumper. Just used two bolts from my own stash; did not trust them to fix it properly (already waited 4 hours for a job they promised would take less than two). Will not be recommending read more
