I was in the Thompson area this week and happened upon Stockers. I'll post pictures next visit. Stockers is an old fashioned small town restaurant. I had one of the best burgers in recent memory. The menu is full of classics and what looks like a great breakfast selection. Surprisingly they serve curly fries that are actually good not like Arby's. When you go there go for the food and the nice young ladies who will take your order. A great local place worth visiting. read more

This quaint family cafe is in rural Geauga County, and the food is very good. We were out driving around when we saw it. Hubby has had take-out here and said the food was always good, so we stopped. The two rooms have tables, wooden booths and one has a counter. The waitress was excellent and super nice. Hubby liked the open-faced roast beef and mashed potatoes. I had a delicious cheeseburger. The homemade desserts sounded to-die-for, but we passed. Coffee was fresh. Bathrooms were up a few steps and were small and cute. This is a destination when you're out that way. In our search this summer for breakfast and/or Sunday Brunches, found this gem, deep in the heart of Geauga County -Thompson OH. Yes for you older Yelpers, the home of Thompson Drag Raceway. This breakfast spot is worth the trip. Located on the square on RT 528, this place makes all meals from scratch; serves fresh butter, jams and pure maple syrup. The portions are HUGE, I mean HUUUUUGGGGGE! Today got the Chocolate Chip pancakes and side of bacon. The 2 pancakes were 9" in diameter, fluffy thick, and loaded with pieces of chocolate! Served hot as well. Someone had the stuffed french toast; corner beef hash; and, cake and eggs. Everyone said each plate was large and perfect. Walked out with 4 take home meals. Upon arriving we were greeted by a very sweet hostess. When we got seated, a young girl took our drink order....another sweet person and very efficient too. That's where the "sweetness" ended! Our waitress was very gruff, short and just downright RUDE! I might as well been talking to a robot! Although a robot wouldn't have been rude at least. When our order came, I asked if they had any grape jelly. She took whatever it was on my plate that she had given me and asked "the store bought kind?" Does it matter??? I end up having to get less quality dinners when I get home late because they don't seem to take to go orders. Management please allow to go service! The Swiss mushroom onion beefer special with curly fries (shut up so good), the tollhouse pie warmed with ice cream (fabulous suggestion Miss Ann)! - while my partner in crime had the peanut butter pie better than anything I've found peanut buttery (is so a word), and finally yesterday the piesta resistance - bananas foster French toast made with homemade cinnamon roll bread - yup fork in me, drop the mic, I'm done! Walking in with a group of 9, I was nervous we wouldn't fit. We didn't even realize there was a second room with a large table that fit all of us so comfortably. We kept saying how we felt like we were eating "at grandma's house" because it was so inviting and cute. You definitely get your money's worth. My breakfast was only $3.50! My fiance ordered some kind of potato "sundae" and honestly it was big enough for three people! Everyone was so nice and made sure we were happy and taken care of. Will definitely be back! We were greeted and welcomed immediately and warmly, seated at the counter, served terrific coffee and left to chat with the locals and decide on breakfast. The waitress asked if I'd like homemade strawberry jam or homemade raspberry jam for my toast - and didn't look very surprised when I said I wanted both!
