I attended the Occupational Therapy graduate program. Spent two years paying tuition. Driving an hour each way mon-fri, passed the coursework and then they send you off to two level 2 fieldworks aka internships. The first fieldwork my supervisor had never supervised a student and she would talk about patients behind their backs among other unethical things. This supervisor decided to flunk me and the Stockton fieldwork coordinator did not listen to My grievance at all. In fact, I told the Stockton fieldwork coordinator that there was another OT there who agreed to become my new supervisor and she blew off that idea and gave me an incomplete for that fieldwork which meant I lost the money I paid for the fieldwork plus I had to repeat it. Don't handover a lot of money and waste time if your are not going to get the support if there is trouble at fieldwork. read more

I love this school! My daughter is in her last year & we have had a amazing 3+ years here. She has matured so much in the last few years & talks about her school with pride. Over the years I have utilized a page they have set up on Facebook for parents with questions. Parents (especially new empty nesters) have LOTS of questions. I find this page helpful to this day. When I have had to deal with staff in other capacities, they have always be pleasant & helpful. Parking seems to be the biggest issue at the school, there just isn't enough of it. That may be because they are one of the few schools that let freshman bring cars. Hopefully they will work those kinks out but in the interim, the education my daughter received completely negates the parking issue. read more

Parking is ridiculous, good luck finding a spot and not being late to class. The upside of Stockton is what they stand for their service learning, and community engagement is what makes this school a great institution. They take so much pride and so much time into making sure every student is engaged within the community through pledging, or service learning classes. The staff here at Stockton are mostly alumni's and have earned the highest level of degree in their field. The transfer process is super easy for transfers and if you have Ms. Emma for your advisor she will make things so much easier for you. For veterans, they have been voted the best place for veterans which is absolutely great, but I feel they need to make the process a little bit easier for veterans and learn a bit more about the education options veterans. Ahh... the old Alma Mater. Stockton, or as I used to call it, Dick U. South Jersey's only real college, but as long as you're going for something in the sciences or liberal arts, it's a good choice. It's right by the AC Expressway and Garden State Parkway, so it's easily accessible. Plus, since it's a state school, you'll pay far less than your friends at Monmouth or Rider (and probably come out smarter, too!) Weekends are pretty beat, so you'll probably be going home Friday afternoon. There's a lot of stuff to do in the area, but you'll be needing a car and a license that says you're 21 to have any real fun. The malls in the area get old after a while :) While I'm biased, I will say that the POLS faculty are the best on campus! Really, even if you're not a POLS major, take an intro class with Professor Daly or Professor Arcuri. They might just be able to convince you to change your major :) Natural sciences are also a good bet at Stockton, and the college has quite a good track record on this front. I'd steer away from the business classes or economics if I were you. I still don't hear good things about these classes, and I've been out in the real world for a while now. The verdict: if I could do it all over again, I still think I'd come here. Stockton's gaining in prestige and clout, so your degree's gonna be worth even more in the coming years. read more

Overall, such a great school. The class sizes are small and this means you have individualized attention and your professor knows your name you are not just a number. The housing is like most schools, though I can attest they are fairly clean. The dorms are plain, small, yet the community showers were always very clean. The new apartments were great to live in as they were new and each person had their own room. The food as another review mentioned is pricey however you have to keep in mind it is a convenience to be able pick up all of your meals and with the addition of the campus center came more variety such as Chickfila, Johnny Rockets, and Primos pizza. The reason why I was so satisfied in my decision to attend Stockton is whenever you need help there is someone to help you. As always you can and will only receive help when you seek it. My current employer found me on Career Connect through Stockton! This is a huge opportunity I would have missed. If you are an alumni make sure to post your resume. The career center is very helpful and will walk you through the process. If you are on the fence visit the campus and take a tour you won't regret it. read more

Oh my Alma Mater. Stockton's really not a bad school to go to. It's actually a really great school to attend, if you're planning to major in liberal arts. One of the top 5 liberal arts schools in the country, to be exact. As far as location, you're planted directly in the Pine Barrens, which are gorgeous. You're 15 minutes from AC, 40 from Philly, and 2 hours from NYC. The new housing apartments are quite nice; the dorms not so much. Stockton's faculty is, for the most part, exemplary. I had brilliant professors, both tenured and otherwise, whom I admired, respected, and learned a lot from. The psychology, anthropology, and philosophy departments, especially, had professors with experience, knowledge, and passion. There's a ton of extra curricular activities at Stockton. Equestrian club, deep sea fishing club, honor societies, and my personal favorite--Stockapella! There are sororities and fraternities as well, with off-campus housing. It's kind of a party school. Not on weekends. But during the week, Stockton kids are getting it IN. Parking is an atrocity, I'll admit. And the food is definitely nothing special, but what college has amazing food? It's a state school and they get a ton of grants for their social responsibility and environmental conservation endeavors, so you're money is still going a lot further. If I could do it all over again, there's no doubt in my mind I'd come right back to Stockton. read more

I guess I loved going to Stockton soo much because I transferred from Kean University. The things people complain about at Stockton (like parking) are problems at MOST schools in NJ and are way worse at other schools (like Kean) . NJ is the 4th smallest state and has the HIGHEST population density of any state in the US, of course there's parking issues at every school. Stockton Administration & Faculty are excellent. I would recommend checking this school out to anyone, as I checked out every school in NJ before transferring (as to not have the same problem again) and I would say Stockton is by far the best. read more

I only went here for a single semester. Why you ask? I trasnferred in thinking that the school would be great, but during my first semester as a junior I was forced into taking classes that had nothing to do with my major. Wasn't happy with that. The teachers for these classes rarely showed up and just gave reading from the books. The food was shitty and overpriced. And the people here were a bunch of stoners who didn''t like outsiders intruding or walking through their smoking areas. It was just an all around terrible experience. There are better schools out there. read more

Stockton is not South Jersey's only real college- what about Rowan? A far better choice. So it's true, I had some beyond terrible experiences here and I can rant for days about it. To make it short here are some highlights from my four years at Richard Stockton College. Food- DISGUSTING and over priced. Teachers- I had a few AMAZING teachers, but they left because Stockton wouldn't hire them full time. Any tenured professor I had was lazy, self centered and mostly taught from the books. Did I gain any real working knowledge of my Anth/Socy major? No. Any 'real' field work? No. I felt no real passion behind the professors with the exception of one. Major- This one's on me. I came into Stockton as a History major and switched to Anth/Socy after taking a course in Archaeology- I fell in love and in my immature mind set I thought I'd be traveling the globe in 3 years. They offered the same courses over and OVER and over again every single semester and year. Maybe I just wasn't extroverted enough (aka kiss peoples butts) and didn't get the right experiences/connections. Who knows. I visited with preceptors and professors about four times to discuss future plans- did I receive any REAL help? OF course not! The only advice I got was to join the peace corps. Then he went on to complain about how his son's college is costing him 30k a year. oy! Parking- OMG? What parking? If you don't get to Stockton at 8am you will drive around for 20-30 minutes hunting down a space. If you HAVE to park on the grass, you will get a ticket. Campus- I liked the campus before they chopped down all the trees to make way for their amazing new campus life center! I was in near TEARS when I came in for a summer class last year and nearly every single tree was CHOPPED.... Ridiculous. I'm not even close to being done with this rant, but those are some of the highlights. Please, don't go here. Everyone I was friends with transfered out. I graduated and moved to Chicago hoping for better job opportunities- museums- etc- I am now a nanny. Thanks Stockton! read more

Stockton is one of the fastest growing schools in South Jersey, and recently obtained its university status in 2015. The staff is friendly and will always try to assist you in anyway possible. The class rooms are small and personalized, meaning the professor will usually know you by name by the second week of class. The parking is a nightmare, but they say they are working on it! (Lets hope..) Overall, Stockton University is an awesome school! read more

Attended my fall semester of my freshman year here and within a month I wanted to transfer. This school is very unorganized and has too many students for the amount of classes they offer. As a freshman you will be taking classes you took in middle school & high school for no reason. You will also not be able to get any of the classes you need. If your majoring in health sciences I do NOT recommend attending Stockton, there is no way you'll graduate in four years. If your looking for the "college experience" defiantly not the place to attend. Since Stockton is mostly a commuter school everyone goes home on the weekends. As beautiful as the school is, it was a waste of my time and money. read more

This school has been amazing. The only complaint. PARKING! But it isn't a game changer. I'm watching Stockton grow and love being a part of it!!! I got into Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Kean, and I chose Stockton. And no, I didn't any crazy free ride. But at least it's reasonable for college tuition, and it's filled with great people. I moved onto campus as a freshman, and no the area may not be like attending school in philly in the middle of the city. But I also never once felt in danger no matter what time I had to go to work or come home to the dorms. I loved it, college food is college food who cares! If you're not living off ramen noodles and pizza. You're not having a college experience! Lol. Get over the food issue! Who cares if u have to pay for it! If you do, and don't spend it, you'll a credit to your Stockton account! They're extremely reasonable there! And I got a job right out of college, that I'm still at and still love. I'm a RN, and I love being a nurse. I originally was going for criminal justice since they're one of the best schools for criminal justice. But I changed it up! And I have no regrets either way. Why? Cause they actually guide you. The counselors and professors, CARE. And don't want to see any student make an epic mistake. If you can reach the heart of one student, you make a difference I once heard. Well I can honestly say that because of a couple of the professors I had, is the reason I am who I am today and they didn their jobs well and I hope still are. I'll have to go for a visit and see. If you live in N.J. and want an alternative to the basics you hear about. Stockton is on the rise from all I'm seeing and reading. Yeah Rowan Rutgers Ramapo. Great schools. But Stockton... it's seriously taking over!!! And I'm so proud of my alma mater!!!! I think Stockton (or as we used to say dick u!!!) has potential to take over south jersey and leave Rutgers to the North Jersians! But something tells that A LOT more students will be coming from out of state soon... it's going to be big things for Dick U. And I still have one sibling left to go to college!!! My brothers wish they wouldn't have gone out of state to rack up debt and a get drunk! And I'm making 60k fresh out of college! While they still live with my parents!!!! Both of them! Great school for Veterans. Staff is helpful, classes are small, but challenging. The Business classes are relevant and focused.
