OLMA was an interesting experience for me. For starters, I'm not Catholic, so I leared a lot about Catholicism I hadn't known prior, despite having attended Mass with friends on countless occasions. Second, OLMA is an all girl's school. Let me tell you, young women act VERY different when there aren't boys around to compete with. The all girl's formula for learning is very effective in getting girls to come out of their shell. I LOVED not having to worry about what to wear every day and not having to worry about or compete with boys. OLMA is a small school, which is both a blessing and curse. It's just fine if you happen to get along with your classmates, but if you don't, you're in for a rough ride. I joined my class mid-year and wasn't welcomed with open arms. Several other students also joined later and were also given the cold shoulder. Like all high schools, OLMA is very clique-y... but it's more pronounced since it's such a small school. The cliques were divided into two groups- a: the anorexic bad girl cheer-leader types who got sent there so the nuns would set their daughters straight and b: the well behaved, studious good girls headed for college who never got in trouble. If you don't fall into either category, you may be in for a very lonely four years of school. Overall, I did enjoy my time at OLMA and the various activities we did that would have never happen in a big school. I also developed friendships with a few girls whom I recall with great fondness. The academics at OLMA are vigorous, but limited. Again, the curse of a small school is that choice is pretty much non-existant. Everyone takes the same classes, all paced the same way. Similarly, extra and co-curricular activities are also limited, with an emphasis on athletics. As a musician and artist, I found OLMA's offerings too limited for me. However, criticisms aside, I would happily send my children to OLMA if I thought there was a good personality match. The staff at OLMA are stern but loving and they give a good education. OLMA is definitely worth your consideration if you are interested in an all-girls high school education.

Saturday August 4th - Raspberry vinaigrette salad, Lamp lollipops, Asparagus wrapped in prosciutto, Lobster tail and mushroom risotto. I had to have it. They made drinks, appetizers and dessert pre prepped for us. Our main instructor Chef Christina was incredibly sarcastic and witty. There was a couple that was annoying AF (but this is Atlantic City what can you expect) so she had to continuously say, "if you're still LISTENING." I'm sure it gets frustrating for a professional team so if you're signing up for a COOKING CLASS be sure you're ready to LEARN to cook. Ignore the momo's. Chef Vincenzo is straight out of Italy and will teach you right at your table if you're not prepping properly which I enjoyed incredibly so be sure to make some mistakes! The class was so much fun and the food was delicious. They gave us a packet with all of the recipes and we got to keep the aprons. Can't wait to come back!

If I could give this experience 6 stars I would…read more I have always passed by the beautiful Viking cooking school any time I stayed or visited Harrahs and always wished I had made prior plans to try it out (classes book fully in advance, so by the time you are there only if your super lucky will you get a spot) for our anniversary we decided to plan way ahead and attend the 11/19/18 class. If you are a group of two, you will be placed with another group of two. Groups of four were together. This gave us a chance to chat and get to know another couple which was really cool. There is a welcome cocktail, but besides that only wine with dinner as a safety precaution - fire, sharp knives and intoxication probably don't go so well together. As we entered the kitchen, we were welcomed with a cocktail and a pre made app to munch on (think crackers and a home made dip or bruschetta) then we went over the menu and started prepping. Everyone was SO nice. Any questions or curiosity's were answered. Great sense of humor, we laughed and joked through out the whole evening. Only criticism I have, would be them having a bit more ingredients to work with. For instance the app was a pepper salad, so there were two peppers for the four of us. Shallots were called for in our smoked mushroom bisque and there was only one shallot. We worked it out well because we became friends with our partnered couple - but I could see this being harder if people or couples prefer to work to themselves. Overall the experience was out of this world. Something that I rave about to everyone.l and can't wait to try again. They also mentioned that they do private party's of groups 12-16! This would be a blast with a group.

Her Barn Studio is nestled in among lovely fields of flowers and mature trees. It's an inspiring location for children to learn at Pat's knee. She's really a cool and funky teacher who has the capacity for making kids love to learn. Pat can't live forever, so if you've ever debated about letting your kids take lessons with her, there's not time like the present. My daughter loved her lessons with Pat.

Quiet little beach town on the jersey shore. Very close to Atlantic city. We came here to lay on…read morethe beach in peace and found that it was nice, clean and laid back. An hour passed and a woman approached our towel and asked us to pay $8 for a beach pass.. It was July 4th and we wanted to get food and do other things as well so we just left the beach instead. We had a nice time on the beach though. Brigantine is similar to the towns of long beach/Atlantic beach on Long Island .. Same type of wide streets, and same style housing/beach club complexes, bougie beach policies, competent life guards on the beach & lots of families .... All in all, there's no other reason to come here other than the beach. (If you want to escape the louder crowds at AC's beach then come to this beach).
