    Chocolate cream pie, perfection!

We went to The Stockyard in Delta last week for their yummy burgers and homemade fries. They had a drawing for a free pie that draws on Sunday. I got a call that I had won and what kind of pie could she make me. I told her banana cream or chocolate cream. I picked it up today. We got chocolate cream. Fresh from scratch, Graham cracker crust, large layer of dark chocolate, on top of that a fluffy milk chocolate layer and whipped cream on that. Not too rich, just perfect. Thank you The Stockyard! Can't wait for our next burger and fries. Everyone is so nice in there. It has become a weekly stop! We recently retired and relocated and are loving the area.

Great place for breakfast in Delta. I wasn't sure, based on some of the reviews - but you don't have a lot of choices in Delta on a Sunday! The menu isn't large, but my husband (a biscuits and gravy kinda guy) saw that the gravy was specifically "sausage gravy" - so biscuits and gravy it was. It didn't disappoint - the biscuits were clearly homemade. That is increasingly rare and very much appreciated. The gravy not only had sausage in it, it was loaded with chunks of sausage. He also got a side of sausage patties. They were good, but a little salty for us - but great when eaten with some of my pancakes. I did the cowboy breakfast - one pancake, one egg, one meat. I had pit ham (awesome big slice of tender, sweetly smoked ham) and an egg over medium. The egg tasted like a fresh egg to me and obviously, I love the ham. The one LARGE pancake was ethereal. It was light and almost fragile. Very tasty! The place is large. When you go in the main door, to the left are some booths and counter seating. In front of you is a refrigerated case full of homemade pies and cakes - so many different kinds and all made here (not just "baked here" as may place call it when the bake frozen big-box items - this stuff is MADE here). To the right, more booths and then an entryway to the lounge area. The lounge area does have a bar, but it also has tables that can seat large parties. When we were there - a table of about 14 or more family members were enjoying a group breakfast. Service was good - especially considering there were 2 servers and a counterman for all this space (and - it was mostly full!). Friendly diner-style service - I wasn't called "hon" but I kept expecting it!

UTE TACO tonight was Excellent . Also if you want a Great Steak go here

Stopped in Delta to have an early Dinner. Decided what I wanted was just a Great Hamburger!! Boy did I go to the right place. Perfect Grilled Hamburger on Grilled Sesame Seed Fresh bun.... Mmm. I added Bacon, Grilled Mushrooms and American Cheese. The Skin on Fries were Awesome! Man was it GREAT

This is an interesting place. The decor is nice, but in need of repair on a lot of the seating. Our waitress was a very pretty, dark-haired girl with tattoos. Unfortunately I didn't get her name. She was really great. Attentive, friendly, efficient and paid special attention to our 2 year old, even bringing him little plates of croutons and cucumbers. Prices were mainly pretty decent, more or less average, with the very notable exception of the dishes listed under "Dinners". These seem almost comically over-priced. I mean, double or more what I would expect. I think it might have to do with the steaks being sourced from some high-end ranch that they advertise on the menu. I'm not sure, but I do know I can get an exceptional 8oz sirloin at Texas Roadhouse for about 1/3 the price listed here. In any case, we obviously didn't order any of those dishes, instead getting the Smoked Polish Sausage, a Chicken and Swiss Sandwich and a Turkey Club meal. All these were really good. The sausage was possibly the best I've ever had. I struggle on this rating because I want to give them 5 stars but the oddly over-priced dinners and the lack of upkeep have to knock off a couple points. The excellent service gets them 4 instead of 3.

We were promptly seated and the waiter came right away to take our drink order. My husband ordered a latte, which was delicious and generous. For our meals I chose the chicken, green apple salad and my husband ordered the stuffed French Toasts. We both loved our food! The salad was big, with juice grilled chicken breast and a light and tangy vinaigrette. The French Toasts were one of the best he's ever had (his words). The place is big, really clean and spacious. We are definitely coming back next time we visit Delta.

At 30 minutes I went up and asked and was told they couldn't find, us so they seated another party. We weren't outside or even in another part of the building. We were sitting at the coffee table with four chairs. EXACTLY WHERE THE HOST TOLD IS TO SIT! Got seated. 15 minutes and finally someone came to get our drink orders. That took another 20 minutes to get. Ordered our food. I ordered the chicken fried steak. Twice I tried to flag down someone, anyone, for more gravy as there was a pitiful amount on the steak. Got the gravy and dug in. Steak was WAY over cooked. It was so dry. The breading was tough and crunchy, burned on the bottom. We tried flagging down someone to tell them, plus all our drinks had been empty for quite a while. After 20 minutes I gave up and attempted to eat around the yuck! Ate about half, but couldn't handle any more. When we were done, we showed and explained why I hadn't eaten much. She said "sorry about that", and cleared our plates. When she dropped off the bill, we expected a small discount for my subpar meal. NOPE! Paid full price! We won't be back. Drinks never got refilled. No one came at any time to see how things were. My chicken fried steak was leather with over cooked breading. Using the excuse that they were understaffed is not the customers fault. As busy as they were, reservations would have simplified things for the host, the servers, the bartenders and the kitchen staff!

My mother raved about how great the relatively new Lost Mesa Grill is and we decided to stop by on our way out of town. I'm vegan due to health reasons and eating out is always a chore for me. We were quite thrilled to see there were several vegan options on their rather extensive menu. We opted for the mushroom, black bean and corn tacos with a side of refried beans. The ingredients were fresh and absolutely delicious! Other items on the menu looked delicious as well, ranging from comfort food such as chicken fried steak to ribeyes to a southwest steak salad or roasted beet salad. (Marinated tofu could be substituted for meat.) Brandon, our server, was wonderful, and being a fellow vegan, he had great recommendations. And to top it off, the owner had a box of vegetable from his overflowing garden free for the taking! This restaurant is a fabulous little gem for any community, much less such a small town and it easily meets the dietary needs of all clientele. (They even have gluten free buns for their burgers.) If you're going through Cedaredge or even if you want to make a detour off Hwy 50, you'll be happy you stopped at the Lost Mesa Grill for a fabulous meal!

My 6'5" husband asked politely for a larger table. The waitress gave us a heavy sigh, swooped up the menus, and walked over to a larger table, dropped the menus on the table and walked away! We ALMOST left! Took 35 minutes to get our food. Food (hamburger and fries) was ridiculously expensive considering they weren't all that tasty. Between rude staff, over inflated prices, and very average food, we won't be back!

So one morning my husband and I got here when it opened and were pleasantly surprised by every aspect of this place. Super fun, welcoming, funky, artsy vibes. They have art for sale on the walls from local artists. Eclectic furniture for lounging, working or studying. They had a few games for playing, an area for littlie kids to play. The walls that were covered in art also had little areas of exposed brick that I found super cute. We ended up getting a few coffee's for us and to take home to some of our family. Everyone really enjoyed their coffee's. Our favorite one was The Grind, white & dark chocolate, amaretto, hazelnut, and an extra shot of espresso. I highly recommend getting it hot. It was devine! They also served assorted pastries and bagels. We got a Blueberry Scone and a Jalapeno Bagel. Both were perfect. There was young man and woman who opened the shop and helped us out. They were both friendly and warm. Not long after we got there the place was packed. They did a great job of keeping up and being friendly. I could hear that a lot of people who came in were regulars.
