After checking out and running in the rain to our car we realized we locked our keys in the car. We went back inside while attempting to remotely unlock the car. An older large gentleman in a stokes uniform began stalking us. We had a small child with us. We were very uncomfortable. It was unprofessional and extremely rude. I come to Stokes quite frequently now. It is a little more expensive than Walmart because it's a small town business. We have to remember that. It is hard for them to sell through as much stuff as Walmart might. Still like to support a local business more than a big store like WM. Not the reason I'm writing this review. I want to recognize a team member- Tiffany. I tried the deli for the first time today. The manager Tiffany was so patient with me while I decided what I wanted (which did take some time lol!) She was not only friendly, but seemed to exceed typical customer service standards. I am one that really loves to recognize people for the good work that they do. So thank you for doing your job (especially) as a manager! All the team members that I've come in contact with throughout every visit has seemed more than pleasant. There's a rancid smell every time I walk into this place, it's basically permanent. The selection of food items is very limited. I would avoid buying any meats from this place. You've been warned. I only come here as a very last resort. I'm hoping Smith's buys them out. Or maybe one of the home builders. They're not equipped to handle the growth of Salem and serve the community. read more

I had one of the worst experiences ever setting foot inside of a grocery store I saw mice running around the store especially over by the deli and bakery, when you walk past the produce there is a horrible sewage smell that makes me never want to buy anything from there , they say everything is scratch baked but that's a big lie everything is pulled out of a box frozen and just warmed up in an oven read more

We just love this sweet little store! Everything you need, gracious staff, wonderful bakery, fresh draft Kombucha and a bona-fide Asian sushi chef on premises creating gorgeous fresh sushi. SO yummy! read more

I don't care for much else about this place but I'll say that their deli sandwiches are awesome! Hard to find most days as they sell out so quickly but quite a nice dinner when you can get them. read more

Nice staff but they sell rotten food,I bought two separate salmon fleets and they were both rancid.I went to take them back the next day(Sunday)and they were closed.even in a plastic bag they stunk so bad I had to throw them away.Very unhappy,had to go to Walmart at midnight to replace it. read more

Great local grocery store. Nearly everything is on sale and prices often undercut Walmart.

The freshest produce and very good meat. The butcher is right there to do anything special. The prices are great, plus they offer coupons.

Great local store. Surprisingly well stocked hardware department, too. Also, we love their donuts. Really nice employees and seldom any lines at the registers, much better than WalMart. read more
