We got the sticky bun pecan thing, and I don't think we've ever had anything like it. It's big enough for three people and heavenly. It's filled with cinnamon goodness, with sticky pecans on top. Their famed sugar cookies dominate the display cases behind the counter. My mission this morning was to acquire two parcels of a deeply personal culinary weakness: DONUTS! Made from scratch donuts. Far better than Krispy and gas station or c-store donuts. At 1.50 each, you can't beat it as far as flavor and quality go. My second visit in about a month. I want local shops to thrive, not get swallowed up by big-box stores. That said, I was genuinely disappointed after seeing Jacquelyn's recent Facebook post. Everyone is entitled to personal opinions, but using a business platform to label people as "dangerous" and "unsafe" simply for having different views isn't community-building--it's divisive, and it's bad for business. Profiling customers and publicly signaling who is "acceptable" to walk through your door is not how you grow or sustain a welcoming business. As a result, I won't be spending my money here anymore, and I won't be recommending it to others. If the energy spent dividing the community were redirected into improving product quality--like making cakes that are actually moist and buttercream that doesn't resemble Play-Doh--it might do more good for the business than turning customers away. Supporting local businesses should feel inclusive, not conditional.
