I've been coming to JeannieBird for a number of years, spanning back to when the dearly departed Jeannie was still running the business. It's not only a joy to see the business still enjoying good success, but to also taste the enhanced skill of the bakers here. Make no doubt about it, the croissant here are authentic and delicious. Just the right amount of butter to bring out their savory character, with just a kiss of natural sweetness. The ham and Gruyère is an absolute pleasure. They have actual content; not just a tease of baked in ingredients. The financier were also perfect! I'm very much looking forward to seeing any additional Parisian pastries added to their counter. The traditional stars of their menu remain outstanding: the iced tea and sweet potato biscuits. While JeannieBird isn't always on my way to my usual destinations, this business is always worth a special trip. read more

Today service was so bad. Everyone has bad days though, I guess. My food was given to somebody else after I waited forever and ever they ran outside to try and track it down till they give me secondhand recycled stuff what?? Gross. Apparently, if two different people use the register somehow the orders are not known about and therefore you stand around and wait so make sure the person running the register is who actually takes your order. read more

JeannieBird is honestly worth a drive out to Westminster. We've been here a couple times, and it's just a delight. There's no better word to describe the experience. It's a fairly small cafe with excellent food choices. This isn't a fancy coffee experience, but they do have all you can drink when dining in. JeannieBird is often very busy, but they move through the line quickly. Seating can be challenging, but folks who are leaving aren't dillydallying and will offer you their spots. Husband got a biscuit sandwich and loved it. I got an everything croissant with feta and spinach. And we split a monkeybread. Everything is so, so yummy. Parking is pretty easy, with a small lot beside the building. Free parking Sundays. What sets this place apart, though, is the owner and staff. The owner pops around to each table to chat. Sure, he asks how the food is, but then he stays to connect -- and it feels sincere. This place is a rate gem. read more

I dropped in for a quick coffee. The coffee was average, but they have such a wide selection of baked goods that I just have to make my way back to try. When you walk in the door, it's warm and smells just like fresh baked goods. The service was friendly and helpful, but we came close to closing, so we'll have to visit again soon. I grabbed some chocolate batons to go, which are very sweet but good... I wonder what the ingredients are since they weren't listed on the packaging. I'm a sucker for locally owned bakeries, particularly where they sell their own blend of loose leaf tea, selection of Maryland wines, and biscuits. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Very nice shop! I hadn't been in for awhile. It seems to be flourishing! Nice case display of baked goodies for breakfast, lunch, or dessert. Breakfast sandwiches available. Teas brewed with as much care as coffee, not just an afterthought from a hot water tap! They even gave me an minute hourglass timer so I knew how long to steep. Nice assortment of bottled wines to take away! Not a huge shop, but enough tables inside so the chances you'd have to stand or eat in the car is slim. Very good service and smiles! read more

Jeanniebird was perfect. Starting with walking through the door we were greeted and started looking at the menu. The prices were very reasonable and loved how everything was sustainable. We had to go out to the car to put change in the meter, a gentlemen was sweet and asked what was it we were looking for but didn't see today, we said we would be right back and he said OK see you in a minute. We didn't know at the time he was the owner. Coming back in we appreciated how kind everyone was and ordered an ice coffee, spinach and feta croissant, and the marylander breakfast sandwich. I liked the croissant more than the sandwich today. The ice coffee was great both on flavor and their replacement straws. Pasta for straws! It's genius and more places should do it. Absolutely the best bakery in Westminster. They say their baked goods are made with "love and a lot of butter" and it shows. The chocolate croissant was butter-flakey on the outside and pillow soft tender delicious on the inside, with the right amount of rich chocolate. A triumph. The spinach and feta croissant, with everything on top, was an excellent choice for my breakfast and their coffee is top notch. I nabbed some sweet potato biscuits for home, but anything you get is going to be a winner. You can even purchase wine these days, and the customer service is exceptional. Simply put, THIS is the highly elevated, quaint, cozy, country bakery you hope exists on Main Street America. If you are in Westminster, stop in and see for yourself. read more

I came in here a few days ago and got some items for breakfast. I got the ham and cheese croissant which was pretty good. I also got the sweet scone of the day which was pumpking chocolate chip and it was amazing!! The people taking our orders were helpful, and the guy who owns it even came by and said "I noticed your coffee cup was empty but you still have food left over. Want me to get you a refill?" And I think especially with how busy that place was at the time, that is some great service. The ambience was pretty nice as well. Its sort of folksy which fits with the Westminster small town vibe, and the seating works out well since you can sit at the big tables with a larger party, or you could sit across from random people since the table is wide enough it still feels like you are sitting at your own table. Jeannie Bird is on Main St in Westminster, a historic downtown street that features a lot of great bakeries. I stopped into this restaurant and was greeted by the warm aroma of baked goods. I was pressed for time and ordered the Cheddar bacon scallion scone to go. So good and I'm not a huge scone lover! Each bite was filled with generous pieces of bacon, cheese and fresh scallions. There is also a good lunch menu, and lots of wine displayed thru out cafe. service very friendly. only disappointment was the strata I ordered which was very very dry. if it cost more than $5 I would have taken it back, but it was relatively cheap considering the portion and I was ravenous. it was advertised as egg, cheese, scallions, sausage and biscuit.... but was mostly biscuit with some sausage chunks and dark brown shredded cheddar cheese plastered on top. I could not detect egg, it was very heavy and dry. I would come back and try something else on menu... like I said, atmosphere is nice and you can hang out as long as you like.... read more

My husband and I came here for a lunch date. I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich and my husband had the orvacado tartine. Both sandwiches were great. We also ordered a butter horn and a sweet scone with a pack of the chocolate batons. Everything was delicious! We will definitely be back! I think the owner was walking around and talking to everyone as well which I really like and appreciate. Next time I come in I will ask for the stickers to take on my travels. read more

I love this place so much. If you want a good 24oz cup of iced coffee, this is your go to! Even better, they ask if you want an actual plastic straw that will destroy the planet or a noodle straw. They should just give the noodle straw regardless. This is my second time ordering the same thing because their menu isn't so large and I do like to stick with old habits but it always taste amazing! Also, I think having a small menu means more time perfecting your craft and that's exactly what they do! Food: I got the breakfast sandwich on a sweet potato biscuit with bacon, over easy egg, and pepper jack cheese and it was YUMMMY. Adorable, quaint spot on Main Street in downtown Westminster. Cozy - counter order first, you bus later set up with more seating than expected! I ordered the Cafe Tray which included; a small salad, mug of soup, chicken salad crustini, black bean hummus on cucumber slices and a coconut macaroon to finish it off! Light yet well rounded in flavor. Everything was delicious. You will likely see the owner, Bernie, a bright bearded fellow with a charming personality! Be sure to say hi but I am sure he will first! This one gets five stars for the ambience and friendly staff. Came in twice in a day for pastries and lunch. I like that they use pasta to stir coffee and to drink out of glasses, nice way to get rid of plastic. Tried various pastries and all were delicious. They have bottomless coffee for $1.75! Jeannie bird is awesome! I'm thankful they're open only on fridays and Saturdays right now bc I would 1) be poor and 2) be quite large. I look forward to going there almost every weekend and getting an assortment of treats. I love their quiche boxes - quiche is using farm fresh ingredients and I love the balsamic salad dressing. We get the breakfast gravy boxes and devour them in under 5 minutes. The pre-order process works great and the carryout packaging allows you to enjoy fresh food (doesn't get soggy). My other favorite part is their tea - I love their Jeannie bird tea mix - it's so flavorful! They're doing a great job! Congrats to Bernie and the whole team - we love Jeannie Bird! read more

I absolutely love JeannieBird's. Everything they have is fresh and tastes wonderful. My fave is their trademark shortbread cookies shaped like little blue birds. Get their "complicated coffee" drink. I was passing through Westminster on a Saturday afternoon and decided to stop by. I bought lime merengue tarts and coffee cake to go. When I got home I had one of the tarts and it was ok. No real complaints but not anything I'd go back for. The next morning I heated the coffee cake in the oven to have for breakfast. The cake was literally a sweet nothing. No flavor...just sweet. Also, the coffee cake had chocolate and some other weird sweet flavor at the bottom. The crumble top seemed a bit stale (but in all fairness, I did buy it an hour before closing). A fantastic bakery and breakfast spot. Jeanniebirds is a well oiled business with Mr Bernie (the owner) firmly the wheel. This place knows its customers well. It's very obvious to me that Bernie also knows how to run a business. Jeanniebirds is always clean, welcoming, and the staff is wonderful. As far the food... The pecan bars are heavenly. The breakfast sandwiches always boost my morning and the complicated syrup is my favorite sweetener ever. We also love the decor, the pictures of Jeannie all over the walls, and the bright colors. I feel very comfortable coming here. It's like My home away from home. Westminster is lucky to have jeanniebirds. You can't go wrong with a single item in their case.
