I asked for a fence the same as my neighbors-he never came out to look at what I wanted. I figured he knew since my neighbor's fence was just installed-not even close-except for the height. Do not use them. I had a horrible experience with them. They took my $1884.00 check for a deposit on a fence that was to be built at another house (rental). HOA wouldn't let me put a fence in because I was the renter. I told them to hold the deposit I was buying a house to and use it towards the fence here. I have been trying since January to get them out here. When I asked for my deposit back they showed up and took only 1/2 of my fence down and then left for the day. I have dogs and my house backs up to the main road so I kept emailing them and texting them for days to come put it back up and finish the job. They finally showed up after telling me on numerous days they were coming but were no call/no shows and spent a couple hours at the most putting up a fence using boards that look nothing like the original and didn't even bother to crop the tops off the boards. The boards were not spaced correctly and crooked. I was supposed to have a single gate in place of my double gate. I don't have a gate at all. Called them to come back to fix it. Told me he would and I haven't seen or heard from him since that time. I've called him several times and got the voicemail. Called back blocking my number and he answered. He quoted me an additional $622 in addition to the $1884 I had already given him. My son and some of his friends from the coast guard came out here and had to redo everything he did and actually cement the 4x4 in the ground because even they weren't done right and remove some of the old posts that were left sticking partially out of the ground. I've spoken to the BBB and am following their recommendations at this point. read more

This fence was built 6 months ago and is already falling apart. I shouldn't be surprised however because the experience was bad from the get go. One section facing the road was built on a downward slope (check out the picture). And the bottom of the gate has jagged uneven boards. To top it off, we asked for a 6 ft privacy fence and the owner himself built a 4 foot fence and refused to fix it. This company has poor craftsmanship and even worse customer service. read more

Then 3 months later they texted me they will refund or I can pay extra $3,500 to get it done since they have difficulty with finding suppliers. I said I chose the refund option. We we're scheduled to have an estimate done on putting a fence in at our new home that we are closing on next week. Nobody ever showed up. Tried calling multiple times and messaging with no response. Billy Walker with Stone Castle Fence What my recommendation would be... Do your research, read ALL the reviews (good and bad), note: his Facebook page only has good reviews, ask your neighbors who they used, be specific in what your expecting and get it in writing! This company is not the cheapest or most expensive, however be cautious as they will trash you publicly if you complain or warn others of your experience. I have reached out "privately" to neighbors who asked for recommendations and told them of my experience and to due their research. OH, and left a few sad face emoji's on posts. The reason for my recommendation/review and why I must explain: Billy Walker, owner of Stone Castle Fence has publicly called me (and several others) out stating (by posting on Facebook) he has "blocked all of my salty customers because they complain about very irrelevant things that happen during or after installs that we cannot control". He also posted that I, " was difficult as they come with making me swap out pickets with knots in them and wanted all dirt picked up after we raked it out". Yes, I did ask him to replace warped, cracked, and the boards that had holes in them due to knots missing. After all I was paying for a "new" fence. In the past 7 months I've have had to replace several boards for rot and damage caused by pour quality wood. I also asked him to remove the dirt that his crew dug up and left in piles around my yard. I have a white dog and asked that it be removed prior to them spreading it. Billy assured me the dirt would be "removed" not spread all over my yard causing a mud pit. Along with these discrepancies I had to have them fix the nails that were sticking out so my dog and grand-kids would not get hurt. Last of all he needed to recut the fencing in several areas to make it straight as it was rubbing against the house siding and the gates were not straight. All discrepancies were done during install, and when pointed out he blamed his crew. As you can see these discrepancies were within their "control" and was a direct reflection of his company and quality work performed. Wood privacy fence installation. Shoddy work. Gate fell off in a couple of months. When he finally answered my call ( after I called from a different number), he said he was on vacation and that he would talk to me later. When he finally got in touch with me, he told me I should get someone else to repair the fence and that he would reimburse me. Seriously? Also, he asked me to remove my bad review from Google. In all honesty, I would not hire this man to build a dog house I also posted the following review on google a few years ago when this all happened: Teresa Haugen 12 reviews 4 years ago Teresa Haugen in the last week I can no longer in good conscience recommend this company. In December I hired them to build the privacy fence for my yard. We halted construction for a short period while waiting for the new shed to be built and delivered. Once that was done I contacted Mr. Walker to let him know the fence could be completed. The wait has been on going for over 3 months. Numerous calls, messages and texts have been sent. He says they" have been back logged," he "will take care of it when he gets back from vacation". Etc. The last I heard from him was April 28. For the past week I have been sending messages, asking to call and let me know if and when he was going to come finish the job he had been paid to do. Yesterday I sent word asking if he was going to come finish this or should I find someone else to do it..... no response. Today I sent a message telling him just to drop of the gates and remaining fencing materials and I'll take care of it myself. update 5-8-2018 He had returned all the fencing materials so I could not finish the repair myself. He even tried to get me to pay someone else to do the job and said he would reimburse me. After much badgering he finally came out to install the gate.....less than a month later I came home to find it laying on the ground. The wind had blown it off the posts. I sent a photo and he asked if the wind did that. Yep, but every other fence in my neighborhood was unharmed. Instead of using screws, he used nails and they pulled right out. He never bothered to come fix it. I ended up buying a lot more lumber and hiring someone else to come rebuild the gates...with proper gate kits. they also had to repair/ replace about 25 feet of the fence that was never properly built/ installed. They were eager to gain my business even before I moved into the new house. They helped fill out the HOA paperwork while I was still halfway to the left coast and before closing. The fence was completed shortly after they started. They were also able to pour the concrete patio. The shed I had them stick build was completed within 2 weeks of when they started and the quality is top notch. Quick turnaround from the time negotiations started. The only delay was getting a repair done to the double gate due to the hurricane that came through last summer, but was completed the same day they started. Overall, I am satisfied with their work, would hire them a fourth time and recommend them even to friends. Contractor thru Lowes. Told me I had cancelled the job on the first day he was to come. I did no such thing. Ended up coming 4 hours later than scheduled - I took an entire 1/2 day off for no reason. Fence was not put up to my satisfaction. Several times they were scheduled to come out - never showed, never called. Big gap in my gates and now one gate is bowing out. Started this process 11/8 - two months later no resolution. Unreliable, unprofessional - would not recommend at all. read more

The quality of my fence is very poor. My gate bows out far enough for my smaller dog to fit through If he pushes on it and when we complained they told us it was like that because of how the grass grows. LOL. I put a bad review on Facebook and the owner contacted me asking me to make it right. I told him I would if he fixed me fence. He said he would have it fixed by Friday, two weeks ago. Bill (the owner) and his crew were awesome when it came to installing our fence (professional, personable, quick and efficient) but when less than a year later we had an issue where one part of our fence was bowing and needed replaced we were unable to get any assistance. After several phone calls and confirmations with dates and times that Bill would come out and fix the issue, we still haven't seen him. It's been a couple months and we've just given up on anyone coming out to fix it so we'll just fix it ourselves. It's disappointing, especially since we would have written a glowing review based on their initial service. read more

William Walker ( the owner) was charming and personable, But he still hasn't finished the job he started several months ago. I still do not have a completed privacy fence. He agreed to not put up the last 20 feet of fence and the double gate while I had my new shed delivered. He has since made excuses for not coming to me and my room mate ( on the same day two different reasons) The first was to me: I am backed up and will be personally working to get the back log under control. the one to my room mate was that he and his wife were going on vacation and that he would get to us as soon as he got back. He is now avoiding messages and calls and hasn't even brought the materials we paid for so that we can have someone else finish the fence. I DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. read more

The fence looks good, but it took forever. I had the first gates (sagging) replaced for free, but the second ones were worse. I found someone to replace them and he found that the posts in concrete are loose! I am basically having Stone Castle's work redone... awful! Avoid at all costs. read more

Not only is he an absolutely terrible business owner but he is also a terrible person. Their workmanship is poor quality, at best, and they left so much work for us to do. From cleaning up all of the dirt they threw all over to cutting of nails sticking out ALL over the fence. It wasnt built to my specifications at all.. boards split all over, they used the dog ear boards flipped upside down. I have never seen such terrible work done by a fencing business ever! Stone Castle Fence company ( Billy Walker), is not a man of his word and he lied to us. Once he got our money, he never came back to do what he said he would do to make everything right. Our vinyl fence he installed was so crooked ( up in areas and lower in other areas), the gates are sagging, large gaps in between gate and fence. The double gates are sagging and never came back to install the rod for fence gate not to move. He left dried up mud on all areas of fencing, said his guys would be back to pressure wash, NEVER DID. The gate latches won't line up and we have to pick up on gates in order to shut. His guys said they would be here at a certain time to start job. That is a joke, they came when they wanted and left when they wanted. If you want a good fence job and someone who is honest and stands behind there word, Then don't use Stone Castle fence company. Billy the owner talks a good game, but definitely doesn't stand behind it at all. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

terrible company...cant be trusted,,fence isn't even a year old falling down,,,wont fix,gates falling down,,whole fence crooked,,,had different people here everytime I looked.....DO not hire them 5700 dollars less than a year old and wind blew it over .....gates were shot couple months after job,gap in boards,looks like a snake both sides....then they lie and tell u they told u this and that and they didn't....workers would tell me they were doing one thing and then a new crew would be there the next time saying they weren't doing that....ill see them in court.... read more

I originally went with this company after agreeing to a price for a new fence and concrete patio. Their prices are pretty high, but I needed extra work done and figured this was the additional cost. The concrete patio ended up costing over $9/sqft (extremely high), but when it was time to build the fence they changed the terms and refused to do the necessary work. Decided to cut my losses and get what I could back on my deposit (which the owner didn't fully refund do to 'leg work'). If you decide to go with them make sure you are clear and get everything in writing and that they will refund the full deposit before agreeing to anything. Though their prices are so high you are likely to find a cheaper quote any where else. read more
