To make drawer fronts and doors Shiloh glued up to 8 boards together without matching grain and color; the cabinets are striped with multiple colors. One door is warped, another has a large knot, the shelving is made with Asian plywood containing formaldehyde, and the drawers are not made with maple. To make matters worse, our designer mismeasured the kitchen. My Home Kitchen, Shiloh, and McMahon (manufactures rep) have all refused to stand by their products.

As we all know, things happen and sometimes things just happen out of our control so I liked that assurance. Plus I had read about their quality and I liked what I saw. I don't believe you need to get custom everything but I also don't believe in buying the cheapest option available to you. This seemed like the perfect compromise. I was able to meet with a designer, and although we weren't changing much in the kitchen, as we were keeping the original layout, he was able to suggest where we could make some visual architectural tweaks to make the kitchen pop more. I very much appreciated that I could see a full sketch on the computer versus a drawing layout. Once I committed there was a deposit and then the remaining half down and the rest upon completion. I did have a hiccup with the crown molding being a different color, but they were able to order the correct one and it was shipped out within a month. However, I had to pay to have my contractor remove the initial molding and put the new molding up. There were also issues with holes not lined for shelving which we just have to live with or at some point commit to making our own holes. This is pretty poor. It has been about 6 months and so far they are holding up.

SERIOUSLY?...After I continued to call the manufacturer, did I get a commitment on when it would be shipped..ONE YEAR and a week, new, replacement door arrived from the manufacturer.Correct shade of white, but poor fitment which caused me to remove shelves to install and adjust. There was no way I would have trusted a third party to do this work. I hired a friend of mine who is a second generation cabinet maker. He had to re-design one of their cabinets which was made to wrong specifications. ALBA did pay for that mistake. There are no more excuses for improving this experience

I really wanted to give this company a good score as the floors came out very nice (with a few…read moreitems that needed to be addressed). However, their lack of follow up as well as addressing some issues make me not comfortable to recommend them. They were supposed to be at my house for 2 days it ended up being 4. Unfortunately they were shorthanded and sent only 1 contractor for the first day and a half. When the second person came they made it clear that they did not want to work "one more _____ minute than they had to". Clearly not happy with their work situation but I didn't need to hear it. They also did not provide a quote for my landing which was in between 2 sets of stairs so that did not get done. The biggest issue is that there were areas of my floors that needed to be addressed after they left and despite my reaching out numerous times no one ever came out to actually see what the issues were. They wanted me to send pictures which I had done twice before. Once they have your $$ they don't seem to care. Suggestion, if you do choose to use them do not pay in full until after floors are dried and you can fully inspect them.

We had a very mixed, mostly poor, experience with Floored at Home. We would not recommend this…read morecompany, especially if you have anything other than a very simple, straightforward project. After 2023 renovations of our kitchen, we had some separation between the wood boards and buckling (spring 2024). The initial assessment and estimate with Tom were great - very clear issues and methods for resolution. The team thought the reason for the separation and buckling was due to the kitchen cabinets being placed on top of the flooring rather than allowing the floor to float. They came as scheduled to remove the previous flooring and put the replacement floating bamboo flooring down - same material as the 2023 original. However, they placed one cabinet/side bar on top of the floor after installation, which worried us since we were told that this was the cause for the issue to start. After they "finished", we didn't hear from Paul (our project manager and co owner) for 9 months on this issue (after multiple calls, texts and emails from our side, no response from them). He only reached out because he realized they hadn't invoiced for our final payment -- we were wiling to pay the entire time- just wanted to hear back about the possibly incorrect installation. Paul was rude, not professional, and had horrible communication skills. The floor again separated and buckled only 10 months after they replaced it in 2024- in the exact same place that they "corrected". Since then, it's been 4-5 months of back and forth with Josh- the company owner, long periods of silence and emails ignored (overall terrible customer service), and most importantly, no execution or resolution to either the incorrect installation or repeat issue - no one has returned to our house.

In good faith, my relative issued him a check for that full amount upfront. At first, they were not looking for a refund. They simply expected Mr. Pica to return and complete the work as agreed. However, after receiving payment, he never came back. Despite waiting a significant amount of time and making multiple calls, no work was started. When finally pressed for answers, Mr. Pica claimed he had purchased materials, but instead of taking responsibility, he behaved as though the delay and lack of work were somehow the customer's problem. When asked for a resolution, he stated he would only return $5,000, keeping $2,000 for his "time," and refused to do anything further. Since then, there has been no response, no phone call, no correspondence, and no refund of any sort. Mr. Pica took the money and disappeared. Shame on him for taking advantage of elderly customers who entered into this agreement in good faith. It is despicable and deplorable that a supposed legitimate businessman would conduct himself in this manner. I strongly advise the public to avoid doing business with Artistic Kitchens and Baths or John Pica. This has been a horrible, dishonest, and predatory experience.
