I purchased an MSI quartz countertop after visiting the MSI showroom and selecting the exact sample I wanted. Their contract does state that some variation from samples is expected, and I understood that. However, the slab that was installed is dramatically darker with far heavier veining -- not a minor difference, but something that looks like a completely different color. I will be including photos so others can judge for themselves. I could have requested slab approval, but I didn't believe it was necessary based on their reputation, the product I selected, and the fact that it was never required or emphasized. RS Marble & Granite came to measure and later called to "confirm" details. During that call, their representative recommended installing my sink as an undermount and said an additional hole for a water filter could be cut on site. On installation day: * The countertop was not cut for an undermount sink * They refused to cut the additional hole they had said could be done on site * The leftover cutout pieces I requested were not brought at all They later reimbursed me $250 for these mistakes, but this was before I fully realized how severely the installed slab differed in color and veining from what I selected. After all this, I was told nothing further could be done because the changes were not in writing. This is the real issue: they are the professionals, yet there is no slab approval process, no system to document changes they themselves suggest, and no protection for the customer. My advice: Stay away from this company. If it's already too late and you are working with them, make absolutely sure every single detail you think you're getting is in writing -- or you may end up paying a lot of money for something you never truly agreed to.

We hired Artistic Stone to replace our kitchen countertops and fireplace hearth with quartz and chose to extend the quartz up the kitchen walls for a seamless backsplash. To prepare, we removed our existing white subway tile. Although our installation was already delayed due to an "installer emergency," the situation worsened on installation day. Three of the four pieces arrived cut incorrectly, leaving large, noticeable gaps around the fireplace and along the kitchen walls. The installers attempted to persuade us to accept the pieces as they were, which was unacceptable given the cost of the project. After they contacted their team, they attributed the mistakes to their templating software and accepted no responsibility. That same day--for the very first time--we were informed that our cabinet trim would have to be removed for the quartz backsplash to be installed, as they were unwilling to cut around it. This had not been mentioned at any point during six weeks of communication or even during the in‑home templating appointment just a week and a half earlier. Because removing the trim risked damaging our cabinets (which were glued and screwed together), we had no choice but to abandon the quartz backsplash plan entirely and reinstall subway tile--bringing us back to our original setup at roughly twice the cost, which we had to arrange ourselves. When we attempted to speak to the owner about these issues, we were told he was "off the grid." When he eventually called from a blocked number, he did not provide his name. When we requested compensation for the incorrect cuts, delays, and added expenses, we were told they were already "eating the cost" of recutting the pieces--even though the mistakes were theirs alone. After several days of back‑and‑forth, the only concession offered was a minimal discount of a few hundred dollars, despite our paying nearly $13,000. We were initially told the process from templating to installation would take 4-6 business days. Instead, it extended beyond two weeks, and we were forced to move into our new home with no backsplash, no sink, and no functioning cooktop. In our opinion, Artistic Stone was disorganized, unprofessional, and unwilling to take responsibility for their errors. Communication was poor, the mistakes were substantial, and the resolution offered was inadequate. We do not take leaving a negative review lightly, but given the significant investment of time, money, and stress involved, we feel it is necessary to share our experience.

I reached out to Jenna at the beginning of this summer because I needed to have the countertop and wood side panels removed temporarily in order to have floors replaced. She said that they were busy and it would be about a week to two weeks before they could get to me. That was fine. I also asked for a quote. I called back a week later, and was told that everyone was on vacation, but they would get to me by the end of the summer. I also asked for a written quote for my records. I was told, by Jenna, that was not a problem and she would email me the quote. I received nothing. Over the next few weeks, I called and left several messages, none of which were returned. When I finally got Jenna on the phone, she said that there were 5 jobs ahead of me and she doesn't know when they will be able to fit me in. I asked to speak to her manager. She told me he was not in yet, but would give him the message and have him call me. I never received a phone call...or the written quote. If this is how the people at BKM do business, especially with repeat customers, it is DISGRACEFUL. I felt like I was being strung along, and that they never had any intention of putting my job on the schedule. SHAME ON EVERYONE AT BKM! If I could give zero stars as a rating, I would.
