Love this place. It's is a lot bigger than I expected. The rooms wind on and on til you are back to the front. There's a good variety of items through the shop and a lot of well designed and displayed booths. This is an awesome antique stop!!! Definitely a must to stop at if you're in the area (we were actually about 40 miles away but saw it on google and had a good feeling about it). There's a ton to take in and a lot of vendors with a variety of antiques in every category you can possibly think of. And best of all....it is SUPER CLEAN AND ORGANIZED. Many items are somewhat overpriced or definitely in the $20 starting point, but everything is in immaculate condition (like jewelry boxes don't have any tarnishing on the inside, free from dust/chips), every fixture and item is dusted and clean! Absolutely a delight to browse through and I can't wait to stop by the area again. They also have a map of a lot of other antique places in the area :) read more

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE !!! I have never been treated in such a disrespectful manner in a place of business ever! The moment we walked in a nasty voice came from behind the counter telling us they were closing in 15 minutes- it was only 5 o'clock and their sign says they close at 5:30. I took a quick tour through the store where I spied some lovely pieces to add to my collections of antique sewing machines and vintage jewelry. When I went to the counter to ask for the jewelry case to be unlocked the man behind the counter very rudely told me "No! It's 5:30 and I can't unlock any case for you!". I was stunned! My husband looked at his phone and said "No , your clock is wrong, my phone says 5:24! " "Never mind ! I don't want to buy anything!" I said ,"But if you're in such a hurry to leave you should change the hours on your door to 5:00 instead of 5:30!" My furious husband insisted the man open the case to show me one of the items I was interested in purchasing. We live in Los Angeles and come to the area every year for 2 weeks to visit my husband's family and spend a few days at the Saratoga Race Track. Buying antiques is a a large part of our annual visit. I decorate my LA bridal boutique with unique vintage items I find in upstate NY. I can't imagine EVER refusing to open a case for a customer, especially one who clearly wanted to make a purchase! I had intended to purchase several jewelry items and the vintage sewing machine, but instead I will no longer be visiting this horrid proprietor's establishment! There are so many other antique shops in the area that have friendly customer service. read more

A good antique store, topped with some pretty wretched customer service. The people behind the counter are miserable and condescending. I asked a simple question and was greeted with a snarky response by the woman behind the desk in the upstairs shop. That turned me off and left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Later, I wanted to buy something, but realized the item was broken. The gentleman helping me was sympathetic, but regretfully could not come down in price, as the item was on consignment, and he really didn't have the authority to come down anymore. That's fine, and I totally understand that. What I don't understand is why we were being rushed out of the store at 5:15 when they close at 5:30. When we eventually left at 5:20, they immediately locked the door behind us. Listen, this place is good. There's two floors of some great stuff. But go someplace else, anywhere else. Go somewhere where they value you and the money you intend to spend. read more

This place has a huge selection of unique and high quality items. They will not come cheep but guaranteed you will not find them elsewhere in this nice and complete shape. One thing to be carful if you find something you like and you don't buy it chances are it will not be there when you go back. You can also spend hours browsing the town of Bolston spa as well. My name is Katie and my guy friend and I went to Stone Soup Antiques a few weeks ago and they gave us TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE NOT EXAGGERATING!!!!!! I'm 25 years old and I USED to love shopping there. I'm no means an antique collector, I do it as a hobby. I used to shop there since high school in 2013. Recently my friend and I went to ask if we could film a video for my YouTube channel. I do ASMR videos which is trending on the internet. I wanted to film an ASMR video for it. I was surprised when the staff treated me like a savage all cuz I'm a YouTuber. They were extremely rude about my question if I could film my ASMR there when all I was trying to do was to be polite by asking first. My mom told me it NEVER hurts to ask questions and now wherever I go I'm afraid to ask questions. I went to see The Lion King at the movies and needed singles with a $5 bill I had and I was in tears asking for change because I didn't want the ticket girl to get upset with me ALL BECAUSE Stone Soup had me frightened to ask questions! I told my therapist and she called them(she was hurt that they treated me like trash, especially cuz I have autism. I work at Marshalls and they taught us to never discriminate customers by gender, race, religion, disabilities and due to my disability Stone Soup still treated me poorly. My therapist was FURIOUS and they treated her like she was the devil himself, they didn't give a crap about what she had to say either. I'm NEVER shopping there again, they ruined it for me!!! I would give them 0 stars but I had to pick at least 1 soooo yeahhh..Byyye Stone Soup, hope you're happy for hurting my feelings, bad customer service and discriminating my disability due to my autism. Today my friends and I (5 males aged 19-21yrs) visited the Stone Soup Antique Center to admire their fine collection of old war memorabilia. Overall we were impressed with their distinctive collection but the atmosphere however, was very unpleasant. As soon as we walked in the woman at the front desk was eyeing us like she had never seen a group of young men enter an antique store in her life. At the time we didn't pay it any mind but as we passed her desk for a second time to go upstairs the same woman said in an agitated tone "just tell me what you're looking for". Despite her hostile attitude towards us we politely told her "no thank you" and that "we were just looking around". Coincidently, after we began looking around upstairs another woman on the job began awkwardly following us around and kept staring at us, not saying a word. Its unfortunate that the women who work at this place seem to have a clear dislike towards young men (in other words they are sexist) and would rather spend their time making them feel uncomfortable than to help make a sale. My friends and I will not be giving them our business anymore and will take our antiquing business elsewhere. read more
