This was a perfectly located place from which to venture out and explore Vancouver Island... Great…read moreplace to spend a week. GREAT Location and wonderful price --midway North and South. GREAT Breakfasts (I tried them ALL) (Stuffed French Toast, Greek Frittata, Eggs Benedict (your choice of number of eggs)-- one day I just had plain Greek Yogurt and fresh blueberries... the bacon was local and everything was fresh) NOT GOOD for people with mobility issues due to stairs. (but their site makes this clear) ROOM with en suite shower/toilet (no tub): Very well appointed, comfortable bed, easy access to two electric plugs and two USB electric ports at desk. Comfortable main living/dining space for all guests use. Nice views of Salish Sea from front (garden view from guest rooms), easy parking for car (must have car for this area). Guests can use small space in frig for left-overs or bottle of wine. I found the TV control to be a bit confusing but OK for short stay use. PLEASE Stay HERE MORE than one night...there is so much to see and experience in the area. I arrived on Vancouver Island via FERRY, on foot, from West Vancouver-Horseshoe Bay...used the 257 express Bus from downtown Vancouver CITY (very easy-peasy). Lucky I had a friend to meet me, take to my rental car at Nanaimo Airport. I spent seven nights at Eagle B&B...using rental car from Nanaimo Airport (where I flew out of) Used for: -SOUTH: day trip to Victoria in the south, winery and ciderys two day trip... -NORTH: Goats, Coombs, and Qualicum Bay to the north. -A daytrip in Nanaimo via Cedar Rd. I visited all the WONDERFUL local Museums: Chemainus (friendly--small), Nanaimo (REALLY good), LadySmith (exceptional for a small town)--it shows the history of the area (coal and timber).

This was my first B&B experience and it was absolutely amazing. Upon arrival at the residence we were greeted by the owner (Jim) who was very proffesional and nice, he showed us all the amenities of the house and how to get in and out, it was really quick and easy. We reserved the "Repertoire" room which has a king bed and a very nice personal bathroom. Everything was nice and clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable, my girlfriend and I both sleep great both nights we stayed here. Breakfast in the morning was top notch! Jim makes it really easy to order what you want, he sent us an email before we arrived asking what we would like, and what time we would like to eat. The first morning I had ham and cheese stuffed french toast (soooo good), and the second morning I had eggs benedict (yummy). Both of the meals were exceptional, and hands down some of the best breakfast meals I've ever been served. I wish we could have stayed longer to try the other items that are available! In addition to the great bedroom and delicious breakfast, the house is also really nice. I had a great cup of coffee in the morning and a nice glass of wine at night sitting in the window seats in the living room. The view is so nice, overlooking the strait of Georgia you can see mountains, the water, and sailboats passing by. The beach is an easy 1 minute walk away! The owners professionalism and courteous can't be forgotten, it's what really made the stay here at Eagle Rock B&B so special. Jim is so easy to talk to and really has a great personality. He always found the perfect point between being a host, and giving us our own space. Thanks for your hospitality, I look forward to coming back here again!

We stayed at Soule Creek for the first time from a Thursday night until Saturday on the beginning…read moreof a long weekend. We chose to stay here because it was nearby where our family members were staying. after having read past reviews, we didn't come in with the highest expectations and unfortunately, while it wasn't the worst experience, it was definitely lacking to the point where we do not think we will return in the future. We stayed in the Pacific Rim Suite which is listed as being in the main lodge. Well, it most certainly is- it is directly across the tiny hallway from the main desk. This means you hear the office phone ringing and all the interactions between staff and other guests. To add to this, the room is not very soundproof at all- we could hear the entire conversation of those staying in the room behind/beside us. The room was clean but as previous reviews have mentioned, bring your own bottled water because the tap water definitely has a brown tinge to it. A small coffee maker, coffee, kettle, microwave and mini fridge are provided which is nice, but you need bottled water to make your coffee which they don't provide. The biggest issue we had was breakfast and the lack of staff presence... we were asked when we checked in what time we want breakfast- 8:30 or 9:30. We said 9:30. On our first morning, it was 9:40 and when I went to check on breakfast another guest told me she still hadn't received her 8:30 breakfast... when I finally tracked down a staff person I was told their chef didn't show so she, who is an office person, was doing it all but she knows we need ours. Well, over an hour passed and as we got closer to 11am we had not heard anything else or seen staff so we assumed we were not going to get our breakfast and left to find food elsewhere. We did receive our breakfast the second morning which was decent- it came with scrambled eggs, has browns, sausage, a bit of fruit and a croissant. The reason I am allowing the missed breakfast to dictate the rating I am giving is because nothing was done about it. No apology, no offer to provide any sort of compensation or small discount on our bill. when I mentioned it to the staff person upon checkout she told me the breakfast is complimentary so she doesn't think they would reduce my bill. I don't care if it's complimentary- something should be done to acknowledge the major inconvenience it caused (we were starving by the time 11am rolled around and there are very limited food options in Port Renfrew). We weren't asking for a free night or anything- even $10 off would have been a nice gesture. We checked out two days ago and have not heard a word from management. We do not plan on returning next time we come to Port Renfrew.

If you're looking for a wonderfully unique adventure, in a remote area of Vancouver Island, with a hot tub under the stars, fresh meals made with local ingredients, a panoramic postcard worthy view with all the amenities one needs, then this is your place. We stayed in the Pandora Yurt. The Yurts look over the Strait of Juna De Fuca and the Olympic Pennisyla. Our Yurt has hardwood floors, a gorgeous view, privacy, serenity and a luxurious wilderness experience. Included in your stay is a full service breakfast, with pancakes and eggs to order coffee, tea, juice. A fantastic 3 Course dinner is offered each evening. The food was harvested locally. Salmon caught that morning, mushrooms picked in the woods, blackberries mixed into handmade ice cream. All The food prepared by Tim and John was absolutely incredible. We were glad we made dinner reservation and ate our dinners at Soule Creek. This was our first time staying in a Yurt and it was incredible.
