I was shocked to be dissatisfied. High stakes, he was made aware of: we're about to put the house on the market, I am super physically disabled, and we were going to be living in our basement with toddlers while they did this. It is not a cakewalk to have them here--but, I told my wife, "this is the guy --he's an artist. That damage? You'll never know it was there-he's a magician!" Not on this job. The magic was his disappearing at the end, knowing he'd a) not done something explicitly requested, b) absolutely tanked a corner of a room, not even trying, c) not checked his or his partner's work and d) not done a walkthrough with the customer after a large detailed job. This was a two day job stretched needlessly into three. Business owner arrived after 10:15 every day and left by 4:30, leaving at 3:15 the last day. Lunch averaged 90 minutes. I paid $3305 in total. [first four photos] a room, $350 for these walls: Repaired identical drywall tape errors in another room, just missed this floor-to-ceiling eyesore on the day he was doing prep, and instead of fixing it and staying the extra time, just painted over it. Photo of particles from a roller in the same room. [second four photos] photos of specific spots sent to painter for repair/caulk/paint, they were simply not done (part of a $600 package to repair/caulk/paint around ten separated trim spots). the baseboards in this room (for which we paid for trim to be done) were fully untouched. [next two photos] a ceiling requested to paint, he just decided didn't need it and didn't mention it until asked about it after he'd left (he did not charge for it). [next two photos] trim lines run on to walls above, the wall color is visible through the white, the wavy line apparent from across the room. $150 per room for the trim. [next four photos] drips, drips, blue paint thumb print on framed artwork, no mention. Spent hours scraping up drips on hardwood in every room they painted. [next five photos] sloppy work and a missed area on a porch ($450). Staples on that post at little kid height? Just paint over those, they'll never notice. Chastised me for complaining and saying I couldn't work with him again (I initially didn't ask for any money back, I simply reached out to tell him he'd blown it), instead of just asking him to come back and fix the work. a) It's so funny, the instinct to instruct others on how to complain, and it's even funnier when it's not accompanied by taking genuine responsibility, looking at a photo sent and saying 'Jeez, that is bad, I'm better than this -I'm sorry, man' b) He'd been told several times the house was going on the market after his work, making the coming-back-to-fix-it not a thing, and he was totally inconsiderate of what it means for a family living in a home to hide out with small children while contractors work. Bottom line: If you have an empty house that needs painting, and you don't mind checking the work and having him come back, he is gifted when he wants to be. If you're living in the home, find someone else. Because we keep finding mistakes and have to stare every day at the things that were the WHOLE REASON WE PAID A GUY 3K AND LIVED IN OUR BASEMENT WITH TODDLERS, I have now asked for a 33% refund. I will update here if one is given.

That painter took 15 days to basically do nothing so we fired him. Called Dennis aka "99 dollar painter" and he gave bid that same morning, promised the work would get done from Thursday 7am to Sunday 7pm....and they actually finished a few hours early. Everything done as promised. After a nightmare experience before him, it was so nice to have professionals do what they said when they said they'd do...and do a great job. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'll never call anyone else.

One of the rooms that they prepped and painted had a considerable amount of caulking, patching, and finishing work that needed done before actual painting and it was done far better than I could have hoped for! Melanie was our lead painter this time and we adored her, she took obvious pride in her attention to detail, as well as cleaning up and vacuuming each day before leaving the job site. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again for both large or small jobs!

Worst painting experience in 20 years of home ownership. Bud bragged how they take off the garage…read moredoor hardware and repaint for free. Well they hung up the handles upside down. They also lost one of the protective caps on the screws to the hardware. We would have been better off not having them do anything to it. The trim work around the garage and the front door was the sloppiest I have seen. I used the carpenter Bud recommended to fix any rotting wood before they painted. Their carpenter missed one window with some rot, and when the painters pressure washed that area, rather than stopping because some of the wood was clearly rotting, they pressure washed away all the soft wood which created a hole under the window. The window needs to be replaced which I would have done once I was made aware of the rotted wood, but now there is a hole that can let water in, while I wait for my new window. They should have stopped pressure washing once they saw the wood was rotting and had to be replaced, instead of creating a blatant hole into the interior. Bud criticized the work the last guy did on sealing our driveway (which I thought was great), but when the Hisway painter filled the cracks in our driveway - they obviously didn't check the weather because it poured rain starting the very same afternoon (while they were filling cracks) and everything they did washed away. I told them I would have someone else do the job and Bud still charged me for "cleaning" the driveway. I was home and never saw them pressure wash the driveway and if they did, it was all for nothing because they didn't bother to check the weather forecast and it all will need to be redone. I had no idea why they even chose last week to work - the weather was cold and rainy pretty much every day. Every other painter I know follows the weather closely and never would have painted before an onslaught of storms. I would NEVER have them come back or recommend them.

The popcorn ceilings were tenuously hanging on and needed to be sprayed instead of rolled. The trim work hadn't been touched in at least a decade, and more than one room was going from a very dark color to white. Not a task for the faint of heart. I knew I found my guys when they also suggested painting the kitchen cabinets. I hadn't even considered that option (they even helped pick out the paint color). The furniture restoration was a big undertaking, and we really wanted to work with the right restoration business since the furniture has sentimental meaning to me. Mr. & Mr. took a thorough look at the pieces before giving us an estimate and proposed timeline to complete the project. They were great communicators and took care to understood our needs - we wanted the furniture to look nice again without losing the character and charm it has gained over the last 60 years. Over the course of the project, they continued to be communicative, sharing frequent updates with us along the way. In the end, the furniture was completed on time, within the bounds of their original estimate, and looks absolutely amazing. We are so happy with the quality of their work and we felt like they were just as enthusiastic about our beloved furniture pieces as we are!
