We spent between $900 and $1000 and 4 days of our lives on preparation, seeds and services and got nothing for our trouble - after 3 months we had a bare field with a small amount of grass sprinkled around - for $50 of seed on-line we did manage to grow a few flowers after the fact but by July/ August the grass had taken over the field and it was a complete waste of time and money. I called and visited Franklin Nursery 3 times asking for help or advise - got three promises he would stop by and look or take soil samples - that was last June - It's now February and I'm still waiting. Before we tried Franklin the kid that mows our lawn did a small wild flower field for about $100 - it turned out great - we plan to go back to him for all our wild flowers, trees and scrubs in the future.

It was cool to see so many plants thriving in this humid atmosphere, wish I could have bought some to take home with me but they would not do well in the Vegas desert. That said, I ran an errand for my wife to return a plant that did not make it to a year and would be covered under their warranty. My mother-in-law is a master Gardener and my wife is an ecologist who knows what she is talking about. But during my visit they had to get sign-off by two different people - one who confirmed what we already knew, one who apparently said "we didn't give it a fighting chance." Mind you, I'm hearing this all secondhand from an employee who was saying this to a cashier (and making sure I could hear her). It was a $45 plant, and the warranty was up in a week... And everything else we planted last year from them survived. They just need to do a little bit better here.

My daughter's wedding was on October 28th. We were hunting live mums for decorating. We called MULTIPLE local nurseries. No one was willing to help, commenting that we could purchase what was left at the end of the season. As I continued down my list, I called best feeds on Wildwood. I had great experiences there before. I was shocked when the gentleman that answered the phone said to stop in and that they could certainly do something for me!!! He introduced me to two female staff members who were experts in matching colors, mums that bloomed later in the season, and sizes that I would need for each space. They also taught us how to make the blooms open at just the right time. The day of pick up they were all organized on a rack and ready to go. Can't say enough about the plant knowledge that the staff possesses. I really won't shop anywhere else for my plant needs moving forward. The one problem I had was there where virtually no customer sales help at all and after about 15 minutes I gave up and decided to leave. In the entire time I was there not one sales person came up to me and asked if they could help me find something???????? For me that is poor customer service even if they have nice plants and trees and a huge selection customer service should always be #1.
