Greens and fairways are in great shape. 1/2 of the sand traps are mud pits, with grass growing in them. Staff is friendly. Virtually no pro shop. If you are hungry, get the chicken salad sandwich. It is REALLY good and reasonably priced ($4.00). Domestic beers are $2.75. We played on a really hot day and there was virtually nobody else playing. read more

I don't know nothing about golf but this is a great place to have breakfast. I'll have to try some burgers and lunch stuff too. The biscuits are out of this world good and homemade. The omelettes are fire and the quesadillas are the bomb. Did I mention they have great biscuits? The prices are unbelievably good too. I love the breakfast here. Oh yeah, they have some of the best homemade biscuits ever here. Try a bacon egg cheese biscuit. read more

$50 per play fees are NOT being used to maintain the course: 80% weeds in the sand traps (looks like they've been growing a few weeks at least) Grass in the rough that borders fairways at ankle height Terrible tree overhangs at tees and around bends Greens are a joke, every green has existing and recovering grass burn. Red tee boxes swampy on over half the holes. Sadly a course whose time has passed. Skip it and play city of memphis courses. They're maintained on a regular schedule at least. read more

Played here for the first time in About 10 years recently. This course has gone downhill since then. Very underwhelming. Played on a Saturday morning recently and I should of noticed the signs as I pulled up, hardly anyone there on a beautiful Saturday morning nor was the driving range open. Fairways were nice. Greens were tough, with a lot of ridges and slopes which I don't mind but Green condition was very poor. A lot of dead spots. Bunkers were atrocious, not taken care if at all. Cost was $48 per player. At that price point I rather play at another course that takes care of their course. I can honestly state that I won't be back unless the price is drastically lowered for a round. read more

It has been almost 2 years since my last review of Stonebridge. Billy Casper Golf now manages the course. The old, hard to maintain bent grass greens have been replaced with Champion Bermuda. They are much quicker, and can be very smooth; though not this day. They are, at this point, not the most receptive greens. Today's round was about $30, courtesy of an discount email campaign. Typically $40 on the weekends this time of the year. The ground is wet & the grass is hard/dormant right now. Lots of roll if you keep it in the fairway. The new management team keeps the grounds free of leaves in the tree lines now. What once was a long search through piles of leaves and a terrible lie, is now a reasonably viable option of a full swing. The round, as I said in 2011, was slow. No ranger to be seen for the first 9 holes lead to a 3hr front nine. The back nine was a "speedy" 2:15. If you are out to hang with friends, with plenty of time, this is your course. If you need to hold your away time to a minimum go elsewhere. At a discount, I'll return. read more

I have played every course in Memphis, private and public, Stonebridge for the money is a really great value. The last time I played there the greens were getting ready to be redone and what an improvement! Now you have to actually think about where the pin is and try to hit your approach shot below the hole. This course has plenty of challenge for the low handicap player and very fair layout for the new player. The staff was very pleasant and the clubhouse, I believe looked renovated. I'll be back to play again very soon. read more

I do not recommend Stonebridge golf club for a relaxing golf experience especially with amateur golfers. Also, greens have been filled with sand and back 9 is shut down so front nine is packed and crowded. This what not stated on Stonebridge website nor golf now and we had already paid online. I usually like Stonebridge but would rather play courses such as Wedgewood, Cherokee valley, or plantation where greens are consistent and golf service is great. read more

Would give it a zero if could. Highly Overpriced. Don't put water coolers on course or practice range anymore since new owners took over. Force you to buy overpriced drinks from cart girl. Range is beat to death & always uneven & nothing but sand. Gnats & biting flies attack you from few hours before sundown until dusk. EVERY tee box in horrible condition or grossly uneven. Greens they spend millions on in poor condition even with all the rain. Staff is unfriendly & along with golf professional. They expect you to bow to them, when in their presence. We were only able to play 9 holes because despite putting afternoon times as available on GolfNow, when we arrived they had a League Night, so we could go off the back, but as I said, only play 9. With the GolfNow discount I thought the price was alright, but seeing from other reviews the regular price I'd have to agree that's a little steep. But I thought the back nine was in lovely condition, the greens are lightening fast though, which is not enjoyable, they didn't seem to roll true. It felt a little putt-putt like in that you gave it a whack and prayed for the best. But visually it's a pretty course and I will definitely be back to check out the front and maybe give it more stars. read more

Took my son golfing on his birthday. They let him play for free. A decent pro shop with your golfing needs. The golf carts are very nice! I love that they have GPS! Course was nice and well kept. Will be back again. read more

I was passing through the area today and decided to get out for 9. The course was in pretty good condition. I liked the greens. They don't hold shots real well yet, but I think they are still relatively new. They did roll pretty true though. Although the course has a lot of homes nearby, they aren't obtrusive. I didn't see another golfer on the back nine today, but that could be because the heat index was 115 this afternoon. The price was fine considering it came with a cart and the staff was nice. I would recommend this course. read more

The course is very nice and we have played it many times. However today was the first time since their new golf carts have been put into service. The carts are equipped with an electronic interactive device similar to an iPad. If you get to close to the rough the cart will stop and the screen will tell you to back up. Okay. But on some fairways it's hard to determine where th boundary exists. The cart also gives a warning about 10 yards out from the "cart" signs in front of the green. Okay. So I back up and walk to my ball that is still outside the boundary. I would NEVER consider driving on the other side of the signs. Then I follow other cart tracks at an angle toward the cart path. My cart totally stops. Can't back up. Can't go forward. The screen says my cart has bee disabled. So I put the cart in neutral and I have to manually push it backwards until I hear some thing go click. Now I can drive it to the cart path. The screen told me that 'Athorities have been notified'. Now I don't mind following rules, but I first have to know what the rules are and where the boundaries are. Totally blew my concentration. Had a terrible time. NOTHING was said by the pro shop staff about these new Big Brother Golf Carts. I won't go back. read more

Charged $30 for nine holes on a slow Sunday afternoon. Quite honestly should have told them "no thanks" and left. Course is ok. Have seen in much better condition in the past and played cheaper. New owners seem unrealistic to their competition. Will probably not play again unless much lower price offered. read more
