My elderly mother had a 8 month stay at this facility and it was horrific! 10 falls within that…read moretime period. She suffered a broken arm in two places and a life threatening hip fracture that required surgery. I had found multiple black and blue marks on my mom's wrists and a wound on her leg that they didn't know what happened to her along with other minor injuries. Management is terrible, incompetent, unprofessional and pathetic! A few caring physical therapists, nurses, cna's while others just plain lazy and looking for a paycheck. Pitiful care of the residents, letting them sit in soiled pull ups and clothing for hours at a time. Not to mention once a week showers if lucky at that, causing my mom recurring Urinary Tract infections that would lead to emergency room visits and hospital stays. They lost all my mom's clothing that was labeled and wouldn't let us go into "The Secret" Laundry room where not even staff is allowed to look for resident lost clothing. Food is low grade, greasy and unhealthy. Many times the food was late up to an hour at,while residents were starving. They would also run out of food for residents and would put anything together that was not even a full meal. Dinner trays left all over the dining room and too lazy to pick them up with spills on the floor not cleaned up. Residents screaming for help on many occasions and workers would ignore them or take 25 plus minutes to come to their aid. Many other family members I spoke to others who had parents or siblings at this facility and they voiced the same concerns and were very upset with the lack of care and compassion. Just a straight elderly neglect facility with a bunch of dunces running and working there. So sad when you can say the best workers are the front desk employees and the therapists. Do not place your friend or family members there,if you want them to have good care. It just won't happen.

The facility is new, about 2 yrs old. A lot of detailed thought went in to what FAMILIES will see…read moreand the sales pitch is the esthetics. Important needs have gotten overlooked or simply not looked at ever - Yellow Safety Paint on all curbs never done * Elderly, low vision, walker, cane or wheelchair mobility IS the audience that NEEDS these curbs vibrantly SEE ABLE. -Patio / Balcony doors never seal in the winter and cannot be opened by 89 year olds...I have to wrestle these doors and it's been excuse after excuse why this is not addressed. - ALL of HEALTHCARE is suffering with staffing issues- Hospitals, Long-term care, Nursing homes and Assisted living/memory care- ALL are understaffed and ADL's and MEALS have been what gets 'cut down' (at least at Boulder Ponds) Covid made the EXCUSE for everything lacking - - but the owners, corporate managers, and upper management health directors CANNOT say they are unaware, or they have not been advised of issues. Running staff ratios out of Federal compliance (dangerous and unfair to residents and the care staff). ** In the 1 3/4 years we have had ENTIRE site: managers ( executive director, marketing director, RN nurse managers and many staff members quit---- 3 times in less than 2 years. The good folks get burned out dealing with lack of support from owners/ Corporate and every day it's a lack of communication that feeds the kaos. Now, there were and still are some AWESOME employees at Boulder Ponds, but anyone that 'reports on issues' seems to get 'invited to work someplace else'. The Activities have gone in the 1.5 years of ZERO to some really great staff taking on all aspects from Assisted Living to Memory Care and that is STILL less than the website marketing assures us happens as a matter of mission statement. A lack of empathy, forgetting WHY residents choose to live here ( to get assistance with ADL's, 3 meals a day, to get help with personal cares, to be in a SAFE and legally staffed community) and to be treated with respect and dignity and a hug now and then. Again, visiting the site blows your socks off. IF Decoration could help with physical and mental health of this most vulnerable group of folks, we 'd be Golden.... But pretty chairs don't enhance or care for this group of elderly people.
