The wines were good- not all of them to my taste, but they were all drinkable. We bought a bottle of the Rose after the free tasting. The lady who was running the counter and the tasting was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. I'm sure the seating outside is very pretty during the summer. This place was lovely. I took my in-laws here who are both elderly and not as mobile as they used to be. When we pulled up the staff helped them find a place to sit, brought over chairs and made the tasting so enjoyable. Loved the unique tasting glasses. After we purchased out selections for our picnic lunch the helped carry items outside and get them settled. Lovely day made the in laws so happy to get out and enjoy the beautiful vineyard views. read more

This may have been the worst wedding experience I've experienced. I understand everyone is dealing with hard times, but this was ridiculous. I was in the wedding party and I also run a bar. We arrived at our scheduled time that was worked out for us on Friday, where they told us lights would be on and there would be no issues.... Wrong! We got there and not one person who works there was on site. There was not only trash, but there were broken bottles everywhere! We had kids with us to rehearse!!! To top it off, there were NO lights on! We literally had to rehearse in the dark! That was so unacceptable!!!!! So next day, a manager asked to show us how to work the microphone. At that moment we asked about the night before. He said, "I don't know what happened cuz the lights were on...". That was not the case. However, when the ceremony started, we had to accommodate because it was not how we were told. We had a wedding at 6pm, we were trying to get things set up and ready, however, we were told that the venue is open until 5:30 and they are allowed to be wherever. So we had to ask people to move so we could set up our mingle party. It was very frustrating!!! Then we had to clean up not after just us, but also everyone else!!! And now, after everything is said and done, and we were left on our own, we were told we were not getting our deposit back because they found a couple pieces of trash. Keep in mind that we didn't even just have our rehearsal ruined, but we had to accommodate for dealing with regular daily business that they said, "sorry about..." This was the most inappropriate way to handle someone's big day. I will NEVER recommend anyone ever come here! read more

I've been to many wineries in Northern Virginia and I thought this was alright. Its hard to judge on beauty or popularity since we went in early January and we were the only tasters. The vineyard was simple and looked like it isin the middle of a neighborhood (houses border the winery). Got to taste 9 wines for free. Very small pours. The reds weren't great, very dry. The lady pouring said the whites were semi-sweet (and didn't know the percentage) but tasted very sweet to me, not quite dessert wines but almost. My favorite wine was the Vignoles, like a patio white. The Traminette was also good, tasted like a honey Reisling. This was the only winery we went to in MO so nothing to compare it to. read more

Although it has been a while since we were here, this is one of our favorite local wineries and definitely worth the drive. Brett takes special care of the winery guests and even took us on a personal tour. About nine months ago we were entertained here. Typical Missouri wines. Nice atmosphere. Food was catered in. It's been remodeled since then. We rented it to host an open house celebrating our anniversary. Compared to the many places we checked out... Very reasonably priced and very responsive to our requests. We had a photographer and the folks here suggested some locations to shoot pictures among the vines. We brought in cake and punch. Our guests mostly hadn't been here before and they all liked the setting. There are a couple of room options depending on your needs. They are friendly in the wine tasting. My son is not big on wine... But now that he's legal, they took the time with him while he took notes. He ended up buying a couple bottles. Feel free to drop in enjoy some wine, enjoy the views. I hosted a bridal shower for my best friend here last weekend. Overall, the experience was fine. The communication between Stonehaus' event coordinator and myself was touch and go in the weeks leading up to the event. I had to follow up on several of my emails because it would take days to get a response. I also didn't hear from anyone in the days before the shower - no one called to confirm the event. The day of, we arrived early to Stonehaus and were able to have a nice little tasting before the guests showed up. Minutes after we finished, the woman who facilitated our tasting requested to speak to me about the room cost. Myself and another girl were planning on splitting the total, so she ordered us to go get our cards to pay her (this felt like strange timing to me). There was also a discrepancy when it came to the invoice amount, which did not surprise me one bit considering the communication issues I encountered. We had two different invoice totals, and when I tried to correct her, she got defensive as if she didn't believe me. We ended up paying after the party was over, when the coordinator was on-site and confirmed my total was correct. I understand wanting to protect your business, but the whole situation came off as quite aggressive to me. During / after the party, none of the employees stepped foot into the room or interacted with us. Overall, the bride was happy, so the event was a success, but I won't be hosting any more parties here. read more

I checked out Stonehaus Farms Winery as a possible venue for my wedding reception. The winery is located outside of Lee's Summit and is also a lovely vineyard and berry farm. Such a charming place!! When we walked in, we found ourselves in a small bar. We sat down and were given menus of their various wines and were allowed to sample whatever we liked. They have both reds and whites, dry and dessert wines. I tried a few, but my favorite was "Prairie Rose", which was semi-sweet and similar to Reisling. There are two rooms available for receptions. The small room is called the Garden Room and is located in the main building. It's a nice room with windows all around, green and white decor and a view of the pond outside. There's also the Festhall which is a separate building and much bigger. There's a fireplace, a bar, small alcoves along the sides for for semi-private tables and plenty of room for dancing. Full rental information and pricing is available on their website. Even if you're not planning an event, this is still a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. read more

Stopped by yesterday as I hadn't been there in a long time. Wines are better than I remembered from some years back which is great. I really like the Viviant which is a nice white. The setting outside looked wonderful and I would have taken advantage of a sunset had I not already had plans. Unfortunately I would have gone four or five stars but I was really disappointed in the service during my tasting. The lady was too busy visiting with a co-worker and another person at the other end of the bar to engage with me much more than to pour my tastings. When I got home last night to put my purchases in the wine cooler I found she had given me one wrong bottle. Now I have to go back and exchange it today. read more

I was not impressed with the wine here. All of it was very grain alcohol tasting especially the port. It was like drinking moonshine, and yes I know what moonshine taste like. There were 4 of us that went to the tasting and not a one of us bought anything. The host was nice enough and the space was big, open and welcoming, but the wine just not that great. This place is on the Missouri Wine Passport Tour and we are trying to hit all of them so we stopped in. Not every place can be a gem. I would recommend skipping this one unless you are just trying to get your passport stamped then stop in. You might like one, everyone has different tastes. read more

The wines at Stonehaus are simple and limited, which isn't a bad thing. There are wines for a variety of tastes. What I loved most about this place was the beautiful seating area where you can sit and enjoy some wine or beer. (Although I'm not going to go to a local winery and have a Bud Light, it helps if you want to hang out with someone who doesn't enjoy wine.) Although I've only been there once, my mom has attended a baby shower there and spoke highly of the event space and how full service and helpful everyone was. read more

Went here for a birthday party and was impressed as soon as I pulled up. Never been to a winery before so this was my first time. The place was easy to find and parking was fine. I'm not a wine guy- However I had the Apple Cranberry Red and you know what? It was pretty darn good! The service was excellent and the folks there couldn't have been nicer. I love the October Fest, the band was good and we had our whole family come out, everyone agreed that we are going to make this our regular October Fest place. Really like this place until today. Have visited many times and bought more than my share of wine to take home. The wines here are good, but the crappy attitude by those behind the counter make me less likely to come back. It's small, and we all get it. Kudos to the young lady who tried to find space for us to sit and enjoy our wine, but her efforts were ruined by the sour old lady who quickly replied to her frustration about finding a place for us to sit with "well, sometimes that happens". Yeah, and sometimes we just don't come back. Too bad that a nice place is ruined by bad help. read more

After recently moving to Lees Summit we were pleasantly surprised to find a fantastic winery close to home. My husband and I love the Chambourcin and Vignoles wines along with their port. When visiting the winery with friends recently we were fortunate enough to receive a tour of the facility and ground from the owner Brett Euritt. I have to add another posting in addition to my small rant from before. I like to see local winery's getting into the big mix and I love to support local business. That being said, my older post was very short and sharp so I must explain. Because this is a different region of the world and not europe of california i understand grapes taste different here. Missouri tends to produce a sweeter type of wine and if you like that then this place is great for you. I may not have had enough time to explore any of the dryer wines so I am heading back for another try. Staff was excellent by the way. read more

This is one of my favorite wineries. They are very friendly, and I love their wines. The apple cranberry was my favorite, but I didnt taste any wines there that I didnt love. We also bought a bottle of the traminette, which was outstanding. The port is comes in a really cool bottle that could be a nice vase. The topaz is also a favorite. They have a lovely room to sit and drink wine with tables and a nice view. Id love to visit in warmer weather and hang out in their outdoor areas, which are beautiful. The woman who was working there was very friendly and sweet. We have been twice, and we will probably return often. This would be a fabulous place for a wedding, or any other event. read more

Visited here with my sister, brother, dad and my oldest son (age 22). I'm not a huge wine drinker but this wine was delicious. I sampled pretty much everything my favorite was the white Vignoles wine of course. We bought a bottle and then went to watch the sunset on the back patio by the pond. A secret gem of Lees Summit, I can't understand though why there hours are cut off so short at night. Please Please extend hours on Friday nights for the public. I stumbled upon this place on one of my casual drives to Lake Jacoma, and I have to admit it totally blew me away. Is the wine the best in the world...no, but it is quaint the outdoor patio is way cool which looks over a little pond and the atmosphere is friendly. On the wine: The wine is good, not great but the tasting is free...you can't beat that. I believe the Norton is the only one they grow on site, and the rest is purchased from Columbia or surrounding areas, but the winery is just gorgeous. It is a great place to have a picnic, fly a kite with your kids or throw a football around if you are going to make a day of it. I recommend this place more than any other place in Lee's Summit, because it is such a neat atmosphere. I love stopping off here before making it down to the Canoe Club, and with them being so close together it makes for a unique evening with friends if you are looking for something to do in Lee's Summit. I have also been here for Octoberfest, and that was fun as well. The surrounding neighborhoods are so pretty that it actually lends to the landscape of this winery. Check Check Check this one out, and if you don't like it...either you are a wine snob or from California. The bottles of wine are cheap too, they don't mark up much at all. It is the equivalent to buying from a grocery store. read more

Showed up for a family members birthday and it started with waiting to get drinks. While I was waiting a employee asked me to help move a table for a wedding party that they where having. For how odd I thought that was I still helped to be nice. After helping I continued to wait for drinks for at least 30 minutes while only two servers where helping all the customers and no organization and people where cutting other people in line. So bottom line is if you want to be put to work for free and have terrible customer service this place is for you. read more

The staff here are incredibly rude and unfriendly. We called ahead twice and let them know we had a birthday group coming in. Not only were they unwelcoming but they were short and had attitudes. We attempted to learn about the wines, tell them about the birthday girl and the fun day we were having. They were very uninterested and quickly moved onto the next customer. We were fully prepared to spend money here and had planned our day around coming. It's unfortunate because its a beautiful winery but I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. We had our daughter's wedding outside in one of the gardens here and the reception in the Festhall. The guests commented on what a beautiful setting it was. They were able to allow use of horses and a carriage on the grounds as part of the ceremony. The owners/managers/staff were very cordial and worked to accommodate our needs. I did not encounter anyone being rude or argumentative. Everyone did whatever they could to assist when needed. It was a beautiful and fun time. Best to have 150 or fewer guests for the space but all-in-all it was a great place for a wedding. read more
