I'm 30 and I cry when I'm at the dentist after several really bad experiences in the past. I came in with a broken tooth that had been broken for awhile, but it had begun to give me a lot of pain. From the moment, I walked to the back every staff member was so patient and supportive. From Julia, who did my xrays, to the hygienist blonde with braces, all the way to Dr. P (female) who went over my xrays and came up with our plan of attack, then Amanda, the office manager. I needed to get a root canal, and they were able to get me in at 1PM, my original appointment was at 11AM with Dr. Peoples (male) who completed my root canal along with Lindsey and another assistant, who I can't quite remember her name, and I believe another came in as well(the gas has me a little foggy). They were ALL so unbelievably personable and patient with me. The process was quick, I left with the root canal and my temporary crown. They already booked my appointment for my permanent crown as well. I left in some pain as to be expected, the medicine that Dr. Peoples prescribed me worked like a charm, I'm not in pain, the swelling is to a minimum, and I beyond frightened to go back to have other procedures completed. I will be recommending Aspen Dental in Gardendale to everyone I know and especially with anyone who has extreme fear and anxiety when it comes to the dentist.

I had a CEREC crown placed by Plagenhoef in 2022, and unfortunately, it popped off within months…read morewhile eating banana bread. I had been super careful not to eat on that side since it was uncomfortable to do so, and the day I didn't think about it a simple bread popped it off. I got it put in again by Millington in 2023 and made sure to continue not to eat on that side and barely flossing on that side for the fear of it popping off again, not even making it to a year of it being replaced I accidentally flossed the crown and it popped off AGAIN! When I originally got the crown, I was told it would last at least 5 years, Dr. Millington reassured me the second time it should last at least 5 years, but when I called the office about it falling off this second time, the staff suddenly claimed that CEREC crowns only last 2 years--which is not true. It popped off on a Thursday night and when I called Friday morning they wouldn't see me until the following week Tuesday, and after complaining they moved it to Monday. Frustrated, I went to a new dentist for a second opinion, and who saw me that same day and they found that there was no cement left inside the crown at all, meaning it likely was never properly bonded in the first place. The new dentist had to roughen the surface of the crown and use stronger cement to ensure a proper fit--something that should have been done correctly the first time. I trusted this office to provide a long-lasting, quality restoration, but instead, I've had to deal with unnecessary stress, repeat visits with needle numbing each time, and unexpected costs. If you're considering this dentist for a CEREC crown, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion or asking about their bonding techniques because I'm convinced at this point the cement might be from TEMU for it to last 2 years as the staff told me. It seems like they were doing this purposely to see me yearly and get money from a crown on a yearly basis. I personally will not be returning ever again.

From the initial entrance, to my teeth cleaning and even leaving at the end of my visit, every interaction was professional, warm and welcoming and they seemed genuinely appreciative of Mt families business. I brought my 2 littles in with me, for my cleaning and the hygienist, Becca, was so sweet and grabbed 2 chairs for them. The waiting area is bright, clean and was decorated for valentines day. They had a mini bar with soft drinks, a coffee station and cute homemade treats by the front desk. I'm so glad I chose this place for our new dentist. Their mission statement speaks of how they are a Christian dentist that spreads the love of Jesus Christ, and I am thrilled to be a new patient here.
