Had a head to toe spa day here for the first time today and it was incredible! Impeccable service from start to finish! Started with a back facial, facial, and lash lift and tint all by Louise. I've never gotten a back facial before, it was my favorite thing of the day! Part facial, part massage, it really covers it all. 10/10 Next was a Dazzle Dry manicure and pedicure by Abby. She was super friendly and sweet. I loved the pedicure 7.5/10. The manicure was not the best but still acceptable. 6/10 Lastly was gloss and haircut & style by Kiara. She was up to my "do whatever" challenge and we had fun with it. The two sweet girls that did my relaxation shoulder, scalp, hand massages and washed out and brushed my hair were so great! And I love my haircut! 10/10 Some notes about the facility in general: the driveway is very steep and can be tricky. Also since it's on a very pushy street it was a challenge to turn left. It was a very hot day and the driveway was literally melting! A very nice touch was a welcome gift for first timers that had some trial products. Something I didn't know would be a good thing is that the skin care (massages, facials etc) are in a separate building next door (you just walk across the driveway). What I liked was that it wasn't noisy from sounds of hairdryers and laughter from people getting hair & nail treatments. You could hear the road a bit but was not bad. Hair appointment was very good (cut and color). Facial services are very out-dated, years behind what you will find in other locations in other cities and states. No red light was given during facial, no microneedling, no deep pore cleaning, no pore extractions - all basic things provided for in all other facials at other spas everywhere now. This was my first time visiting this place and maybe my third time getting a pedicure. It turned out to be a great experience. I was taken care of by Brooke, who was very communicative, straightforward, and made sure to ask what I wanted before delivering exactly that. I had no idea this spa was located here--I must have passed it a hundred times without realizing it. Once inside, navigating the space feels a bit like a maze, but everyone I encountered was friendly and welcoming. The layout seems to be divided into sections; I had to go downstairs and to the right for pedicures, while hair services are on the main floor, and massages appear to be in another area of the building. I can't say enough positive things about Stonewater! Hands down my favorite spa & salon in Pittsburgh. In the frequent times I have visited I have tried a good deal of their services. IBE Extensions: Alicia did my IBE extensions and they are seriously like changing. I have long hair but it was not as thick as I had wanted so due to many past good experiences at Stonewater, I decided to have my consultation done there. The consultation was quick, easy, and free. My hair came in relatively quickly and the spa was able to fit me in at about 2 1/2 weeks after the consultation. The application was a long process understandably but Alicia and her staff do everything to make the experience relaxing with good conversation, snack, and beverages. When my extensions were done I was more than pleased! Will definitely be remaining a Stonewater customer for all my future extension applications and hair styling. Spa Treatments: I have had both a deep tissue massage and a facial done at Stonewater and both I was pleased with. A big peeve of mine is when I am receiving a deep tissue that is not deep or extensive enough. My masseuse got all of the knots out and did so with an appropriate amount of pressure. I also enjoyed the comfy robes and sitting area while waiting for my treatment. Brow Tinting: The brow artist here is excellent! Give the extra tint a try! Teeth Whitening: I am very happy with the results of my teeth whitening treatment! The decor in the med spa building felt modern and relaxing and the employees were polite and accommodating. I love to go to Stonewater for massages, and they have a dedicated space on the top floor for a more zen area. Recently visited with a Bridal Party for manicures. Very clean facility, at least in the nail room from what I experienced. The technicians were professional and polite. I was happy with the quality of my manicure for the reasonable price of $35. There is a private room which can be rented for parties which worked well for us. TLDR Summary- Stonewater is the best salon and spa in the South Hills. I've been a client here since they opened and have been treated like family from all the staff all the way up to the owners Alicia and Daryl. I can not recommend them enough- I've tried almost everything they offer and I'm never disappointed. I started as a nail client at Stonewater. All of the staff has been wonderful and accommodating for both myself and my mom. They have become like family to us and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else, especially because everything they provide is top notch and everyone is trained so well on all the products and services they offer. Over the years I started trying new services and became addicted to all of their aveda hair, skin care and make up. I see Rachel Brooke monthly if not weekly when I can for ultra stress relief work, facials, body polishes, dual exfoliation dermaplaning facials, waxing and all my lash and eye brow needs. Words cannot describe how incredible Rachel is as both a professional and a person while you are in her care. I've always had some skin issues and for the first time in my life I can say I have the nicest skin I've had in 30+ years. She has me on a great routine and always takes her time and makes sure I get the services I need when I need them. If it was not for her I would be clueless on how to properly care for my skin and still using make up in damaging ways. She makes sure I'm always scheduled when I need to be (even if my service isn't with her she always checks in on me) and puts tons of effort into fitting me in her busy schedule to ensure I stick to my routine. She is truly one of a kind and I highly recommend her to everyone that wants to try out services at Stonewater. She also has taken to much extra time getting to know me and has become a close family friend to me as much of the staff there has. I always leave felling 100% better and with so much more confidence after Rachel's treatments from eyelash lifts/extentions to facials and relaxation. She even recommended treatment for my hair and made sure I saw a stylist who would work best for me. I also now see Sam for my hair cuts and color and could not be happier. It has been about 6 Years since I have let any salon really touch my hair since I have very fine thinning hair and it is tricky to work with. Up until now I used to typically leave salons crying from hating the cut and the service. From the first time I sat in chair she listened and really developed a plan for me to achieve the best results. Since I have had several wedding updos that turned out stunning and most recently had Halo extentions cut in and matched to my hair. Both Sam and Alicia (the owner) fit me in no questions asked and treated me like I was Kate Middleton both working to making sure the halo was perfect and could not be seen. It's really boosted my confidence surrounding my thinning hair and they both showed me tips and techniques of the trade to style it. Sam is so passionate about her work and clients I am always exited when I get to see her and recommend booking with her soon because her schedule fills up so fast. Overall Stonewater is the only salon and spa I will go to for any service I need. They are constantly expanding and offering new products and treatments, while continuing to provide the best service from all levels of the staff in every areas of service they provide. I love spas and never shy away from treating myself. Listen, we're all busy and deserve it once in a while! I am always on the lookout for not just a spot that offers facials and massages, but a true spa. One with a dark and intimate setting with nice smells and lit candles. I feel like a lot of spas around town don't really nail the ambiance. I definitely feel like they do! There's a lovely sitting room with comfy chairs and teas that you can enjoy upstairs. I opted for a facial and had a quick sit down consultation with the girl doing my facial. I've never had such a thorough and personalized consult, which I think lead to a fab experience. My friend and I went for massages after a week in the wilderness camping. I have never felt so relaxed in my life!! My therapist was so excited to be giving me my first massage, and it did not disappoint. Feeling all the soreness leave my body was heavenly. He apologized for the service I received, which I do appreciate, and then asked me politely to take my review off of this site. I have increased my rating to 3 stars, specifically due to the talent of the hairdressers, but I would like to keep my experience available to those (like myself) who set high expectations for the hair salons they choose to give their business to. One additional piece of information: While my hair looked great coming out of the salon, it was not what I had asked for in my initial booking. At my new appointment, I was never going to be given the option to be provided with the services I asked for due to the scheduling mishap noted above and a lack of time available to perform the requested service. I was made aware of this after I arrived for my appointment, and willingly chose to move forward with the new service, with the consideration that I strategically booked the date of my appointment for upcoming events I was attending. Luckily my hair looked awesome, and I am not in any way taking away from the skill of the hairdresser, but I feel this to be a valid reason to refrain from returning, as I would like to be provided with the service I intended to have. read more

I was so impressed by every element this spa had to offer, and it began with a phone call. The owner, Darryl did his utmost to get me a last minute appointment for two services. He checked with his staff called me back with confirmation of an appointment time. The spa is off of a major highway, but one would never know that, based on the inside of the building. It was quiet, serene, clean, and elegant. My first service was a pedicure, and the technician was friendly and competent. I felt very at ease and relaxed. The second service was a facial, and the knowledgeable technician made sure that I was comfortable in addition to inquiring about my skin needs. I just love Stonewater Salon and Spa on Rt 51 in Pleasant Hills. I get my hair done there my Melanie and not only is she so upbeat and friendly, she does my hair exactly how I ask. The Salon itself is like none other. The atmosphere is amazing. Even for just getting a haircut or trim, they pamper you with refreshments in the waiting area, a scalp massage before whatever you are getting done, then while you are getting shampooed , a hand message! One of my favorite things they do, is while getting shampooed they put a heated towel under your neck. All these little things make your visit so enjoyable. The Salon itself is beautiful , with the decorating making it look like I am in upscale salon, that I could not ever afford. I've gone here a few times over the years and was hoping to become a more regular customer. Not being one to get my hair cut frequently, I like to splurge a little, but also expect to get what I pay for. I came in prepared with pictures and explained to the hairdresser exactly what I wanted based on what works for my hair type and lifestyle. Long story short, the mirrors that are used when getting haircuts do not allow view below shoulders. She never gave me a mirror to check the back or confirmed when she was done if it was what I was looking for. She took off the cape and walked away. I didn't realize that I was even finished because I still had a towel draped around my back. The atmosphere of the salon was great, but I have a haircut that I spent too much on that I get annoyed with each time I style it. I got a gift certificate to get a massage here for my birthday. To my surprise this was one of the best massages I have ever had! From start to finish it was such a wonderful experience. They greeted me promptly and got me a drink of water. During the message she used essential oil which was lovely. After the massage I was able to sit in the lounge to enjoy drinks and snacks. I have gone to another Aveda salon in the Pittsburgh area a few times, but have been increasingly disgusted with it's disregard for customers and ever-increasing prices. So when I searched for another Aveda salon and Stonewater came up, I scheduled both a facial and a hair cut. The salon is intimate and calming, and all the little details that were taken care of really made the experience, from having a cup of coffee ready for me 2 minutes after walking in the door, to the hair brush, mirror, and wet/warm towel for me to clean up with after the facial. The facial: Amazing. Luonna had the gentlest touch, and my skin was absolutely glowing and ever-so-soft afterwards. I have already scheduled one for next month with her. The hair cut: I've had a ton of compliments on it - Paula really did a fabulous job. She knew exactly what I wanted and made it happen. I definitely suggest Stonewater as the place to go. I did the "Ultra Stress Relaxation Treatment." Sarah took very good care of me, taking a moment to talk to me about what I wanted her to focus on and what to expect. I actually went a year ago since I was working near the area. I started to have a lot of back pain and hot patches wasn't working for me so I decided to try a massage. This was the first official massage that I've ever gotten, but it was the most amazing massage. I didn't realize it at first but my back pain completely went away just a couple days after it.
