My daughter and I stopped in today to inquire about a bike for my husband's retirement gift. Ken was very friendly and helpful. He spent a lot of time with us and showed us several different bikes and also introduced us to the e-bike! We both took a spin on one, so much fun. We planned to return with my husband the next day, as it turned out we ended up going back later the same day. This time Charlie helped us, he was very knowledgeable and showed us many different options. After my husband selected his favorite Charlie added a few upgrades and out the door he went. Owner was so anxious to take my money, that he had employe use improper tool on my freewheel, now it is stripped and can not be removed. Now a first generation bulllseye wheel is unusable. When the owner insisted i use a 700c tube in a 26" tire/rim i should have walked out, would have saved me from having a ruined and irreplaceable Wheelset. Short of pricey New bicycle sales, this shop is not worth visiting. read more

My family and I have been loyal customers for 25+ years, so there was no question where to take my bike when I needed new tires and a tune up. I was quoted by Ken a price of no more than $85 out the door when I dropped it off, including tires and brakes. I was pleased with the repairs and service upon delivery. I went to pay and I was verbally told the total came to $48, with my Dad present who also heard the same total. The total never came up on the pos; paid, left and didn't look back. I looked at my bank account a few days later and noticed the charge was over 3 times more, I couldn't believe it and thought it was a mistake, so I called the shop. The problem, everything prior mentioned was verbal with no written proof other than my Dad as a witness. What happened to the customer is always right? Well not at this place, as nothing was done for me the paying customer for the miscommunication. Make sure to get a written quote for the work to be performed before letting them agree to do the work, don't just take their word for it, because they won't stand behind it! My advice go to another local bike shop, where they would be more than happy to assist and gain new clientele, as many have not been able to survive the aftereffects of COVID-19. I was going to be purchasing a new bike in the near future but I will say with certainty I will be going somewhere else for my new bike and repairs from now on, a shop who truly values their loyal customers. Far too often these days there is no regard for quality customer service in order to make it right and ensure the customer is 110% satisfied. read more

I went there to look at bikes after going to a bike store in Shelby Twp. The owner Ken helped my husband & I find the perfect bikes. He fitted us and helped us save money by showing us last year's model which was about 20% less. We called this year to get our son a bike and once again, they were able to get us the perfect bike for our son. Their selection is amazing!! You will never see more bikes available in your life!! Ken has made so many adjustments to our bikes without even charging my family! When I had problems with my Mountain Bike shifting incorrectly, while mountain biking, I took my bike right to Ken's shop. He told me what the problem was before even looking at my bike. I am not the type of person who usually ever leaves reviews. Given that, I would highly recommend going to Stoney creek bike for all of your biking needs. The owner is a very knowledgeable and honest guy. I came in one time prior for a flat tube. A week later, the tube was once again punctured. After he examined the tube he informed me that the puncture was actually a result of a manufacturer defect and replaced the tube free of charge. Since then I've brought my bikes in on a variety of different occasions only to be met with a high level of attention to detail and very fair pricing. 10/10 highly recommend! read more

I went to Stoney creek bike shop a year and a half ago to get a 3 wheeled bike for my daughter who has cerebral palsy and epilepsy.........we had been looking at other bike shops as well and had decided on this one because the owner appeared to be kind and we wanted to support a small American business......we bought the bike and later had an expensive motor installed by the owner for my daughter that the owner was very good and reliable.....we've had nothing but problems......we tried to have him fix it and he tried but couldn't.......on top of all this he is extremely rude and not at all helpful or heartfelt even my ex husband who is a mechanic tried speaking with him and he felt he knew nothing about bikes......we also found out that the motor he installed for $1400 could have been bought in a kit for $275.........he also told us up front we had a 5 year warranty' another falsehood....how sad and awful to take advantage of a person with a disability........I would never recommend buying anything from them!!!!.......first impressions are very deceiving ......beware!!!! read more

I bought my bike here about 3 years ago, I was pleased with the bike I bought and at a good price. My recent experience left me with a sour taste in my mouth. Went in to inquire about various tire features and what would be best for my bike. I was upfront and said I was purchasing my tire on amazon.com but was having the tire mounted by Stony Creek Bike. Owner was very rude and belittled me because I was not supporting local bike shops, another employee jumped in and joined the owner. "Don't support local bike shops"...I bought my bike from Stony Creek Bike and planned on having them service the tire!!! I would give this place no star if possible. A friend of mine recently put a bike in layaway here for his son's birthday. On the day he paid it off & wanted to pick it up. The owner is very rude. Last year he trued up my wheels, I then took them back because they were still bent. He then told me I need new wheels after I paid for the repair!? He then told me that the new wheel set was going to be 80$, when he ordered them and called me to tell me they were in, he raised the price to 100$. I felt like he didnt care about me as a customer. I'll be looking for a new bike shop. I've taken bikes here many times, had good experiences, but this last time was not one of them. I took 2 bikes in for tuneups 4 weeks before our up north vacation, and was promised they would be ready on the date I needed. Early that week, I called to see how repairs were going, and to make sure they would be ready on time, I was assured they would be. Later that week, Ken called and said our bikes were ready. When we went to pick them up, a bike was brought out, but it wasn't mine, or the other one either. The hunt began for our 2 bikes. They were found, but no work had been started. WHAT?? We were planning to leave in the morning. Work was started, repairs made, and we took our bikes after waiting over an hour. But when we got up north, one of the bikes had a flat tire,which we had to have repaired at a bike shop up there. And also had a brake problem. read more

I took a wheel in to be repaired. They said next week. After 6 weeks they called and said to come in, they had good news for me. When I got there they informed me that the repair to the wheel was going to be $78. That is about half the cost of a new wheel. They had never called me beforehand to explain the high cost. When I objected, the owner started getting angry at me. He couldn't fathom why anyone would protest such a normal wheel repair bill. When I continued to protest, he suggested I leave the wheel with him to so he could put the damaged parts back on the wheel. read more
