I came in for a quick repair on my bike. My bike isn't the top of the line and I could tell that this bike shop had some pretty high end bikes. But they didn't treat me any differently for having an older style bike which I appreciate. Chris helped me with my bike got it up and running very quickly and treated me very well. He even held the door open for me to get the bike into my vehicle. I really appreciated that . I felt attended it to from the time I came in to the time I left. Disappointed with my experience with Main Street Bicycles. Originally took my bike there because of a couple broken spokes. I was initially a little turned off that none of the employees were wearing masks - even though most of the customers were. But, they told me they'd take a look at my bike -- and let me know a few days later that two spokes would need to be replaced. I picked it up a week or so later (again - no masks) and it seemed to be okay. A few weeks later - more broken spokes. Took it back in (this time masks - at least for the counter people)... got a call a few days later and was told the entire wheel/rim needed replacing due to corrosion. He apologized for not catching it earlier... and did a complimentary fix on the spokes this time. I ordered the new tire/rim a few days later and was told it would be in in about a week. Three weeks later - I've heard nothing. I get it, the pandemic has slowed things down... but 3 weeks vs. the 1 week I was promised was a bit much. So I called and was told it was back ordered. Again, I understand that -- but, I feel good customer care would've called me around the initial estimated date. -- Shortly after I left this review, I received a message from Anne Marie Gealy: "We are sorry you felt it necessary to bash us. I'm sure your perfection will overcome any issues you have with any other issues ahead" I didn't bash Main Street Bicycle. I left an account of my experience there. I feel it was polite and true. I am disappointed about my experience there and hoped my review would help improve the experience there. I feel my review was fair and explained the issues I had with the shop. Mrs. Gealy's accusation is unfair and her brash response is undeserved. Instead of contacting me to address and maybe fix these issues would go a long way to turning a bad experience into a good one... instead, my already disappointing experience with this bike shop sinks even lower. So if you want a shop to not properly diagnose your bike, "fix" your bike for it to have the same issue a couple weeks later --- when you'll have to throw more money to get it fixed properly... then have one their people attack you in messenger... then Main Street Bicycle is for you! read more

I came inside Main Street Bicycles and ordered a bicycle in the color I liked September of 2020 for $600 minus military discounts. I was told "It'll be in the store in about 4-6 weeks". Okay, great! I put a 50% deposit and was anxious to start riding. 4 weeks later, no call. 6 weeks later, no call. I ended up contacting them at week 6 and they told me my bicycle was was going to be in around November. That's an additional 6 weeks. Come mid October I get a call telling me that the bicycle model I ordered came in, but a different color. I asked when they expected the bicycle in the color I ordered to arrive. I was told "about 2 weeks". Okay, I think I could manage that. November came and gone with no call from Main Street Bicycles. Here I go again, contacting them. I was told this bike will no be in the store by Christmas. Hmm...getting kind of tired of this, but what the hell, it's winter anyway. As you guessed, Christmas came and gone with no word from Main Street Bicycles. I contacted them yet again, and they inform me it'll be in come March 2021. Let's step back and review this timeline up to this point. I was quoted 4-6 weeks, and we are now at week 30. Or, week 23 with my "2 more weeks for the color you ordered" bicycle. I'm getting pretty agitated, but I remained calm since I assume materials are effected by covid. Finally the day arrives to where I can pick up my bicycle I ordered. I didn't end up getting this bicycle until April 27th, 2021. Almost 8 months after my "4-6 week" quote. I go in to pay my remaining balance, and they tacked on an additional $100. Why? Because they raised the price $100 in February of 2021. I ORDERED THIS IN SEPTEMBER OF 2020! I spoke with (I assume) the owner and they gave me the run-around of how "specialized raised their prices". I feel that is their problem to resolve with specialized, not mine. After a good 5 minute discussion of her excuses on why they can't get rid of this $100 additional, we came to agree on each paying $50 of the $100. Still unsure why I settled with paying extra, considering I have a receipt which showed the remaining balance I owed. Main Street Bicycles, if you're reading this review, consider being in contact with your customers from start to finish even if it's bad news. Additionally, contact your customers if there is a price increase and don't leave it a surprise when they come in. With all that bad, there is some good. When I received the bike, it was shifting funny after 1/8th mile ride. I brought it back and now it's riding how it should. I guess tension was loose somewhere. I really hope what happened to me was a fluke and your experience will differ, but I can't make any promises. read more

Through the pandemic I know that times have been tough for people to find good help. Costs are going up on so many things. My experience at Main Street was honestly excellent. I had to pay more for my bike but I checked around and price was the same at all the dealers. You guys who say your mad about he price going up it is at all the shops. read more

No shop is perfect and it sounds like "the blonde lady" is too often a PR nightmare who needs to stay home but all the bad reviews are from the pandemic timeframe when practically every bike and part in the country was sold out. And people complaining about not wearing masks... those posts aren't going to age well if you follow real science instead of fear mongering narratives. Facts are facts. Stopped by to pick up a water bottle on June 18th. Not a single employee was wearing a mask or observing the 6 foot distance guidelines. In addition, there was no protection installed next to the cash register. read more

I am in the middle of Ironman training and came to the area from Boston to visit my girlfriend who had helped to facilitate a bike rental from Main Street Bicycles for a long training ride I needed to do while I was in town. I was in contact with the GM and other employees during the week leading up to my rental getting all of the details ironed out. Everyone at MSB was so helpful in getting the bike (a nice Specialized with all Ultegra components) set up as best as we could for my 4 hour training ride. They provided me with a helmet, SPD pedals, spare tube, and CO2 for the ride. My girlfriend went by and picked up the bike before my arrival with no issues and we dropped it back off the next day after my ride. Everything went smoothly and I would highly recommend the shop for all of your bicycle needs! read more

I would recommend Main Street Bicycle to EVERYONE! Awesome prices and customer service was top notch. I was on the hunt for a specific bike, I called every bicycle store in Michigan to find it. They didn't have it stock, but special ordered it and gave me a better price than anyone else. When I went to pick up my bike it was already assembled and waiting for me. I was still a lil too short and they cut the seat for me on the spot. Super nice staff. I'll be back for my free tune up in a year!
