Stonington Gardens is wonderful!!! They provided excellent customer service and absolutely BEAUTIFUL flowers, plants, etc. I am new to the area where I purchased a condo in Groton, CT. Since I only have a decent-sized deck, I wanted to make sure that it would be an oasis for me in the spring, summer and fall months. When I saw this place, I ended up going there 3 times within one week! Anyway, armed with dimensions and pictures of my deck, knowing what direction it faced and with pictures of certain small freestanding baskets that I wanted to use, I worked with Sarah and other support staff. They helped me to pick out the perfect plants and greenery to make sure that I have a quiet and peaceful place to sit and read or BBQ and share a wonderful meal with friends and family! Also, when I am sitting in my office which overlooks the deck, I am constantly distracted by looking out the window and enjoying my plants and all of the beautiful colors. We went to this garden center today for the first time. We usually go to Holdridge's but today we wanted to try a new place. They sent a flyer in the mail so we decided to go there. We never make it out to Lantern Hill so we didn't know it was there. What a pleasant surprise! The first worker we saw was Madeline. She was very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They have a great selection and the prices are about the same as any other garden center in our area. Their mums are healthy and beautiful. The trees, shrubs, kale, cabbage, flowers, etc. are all very well cared for. They have a small animal farm with chickens, goats, and a friendly dog named Louie. Our experience here was great and we would highly recommend Stonington Gardens on Lantern Hill Road. read more

This local garden center is amazing especially if yo have a little one. There is plenty of room to run around, there is a cow goats chickens and a dog always for viewing! As far as plants go the owner Jim will bend over backwards to help you get your desired look. He has come out to our home several times to look at the areas and mapped out our plantings. They are overpriced and their plants seem neglected. It's August 31st, they still are selling herbs and starter vegetables in 6 packs for full price and overpriced. It's rather amusing since the pepper plants have actually peppers on them and they are selling some of those in their "farm" stand. Will never go back. read more

This is our favorite garden store. The owners are very knowledgeable and will help you figure out the best plants for your landscape. We go often as we love the nursery and my kids love seeing the animals. They sell mulch and dirt in bulk for a good price and I find the prices fair with other places in the area.
