As a resident I am tired of getting notice after 5 P.M. of the office being closed on the next business day. This happened for Labor Day which is known far in advance. After 10 PM last night an email was sent saying closed tomorrow and the next day. I've lived here for 6 years and I love it!! The complex is quiet and peaceful and the staff and management at the complex are kind and helpful!! They do fun activities for the residents and are super timely with maintenance requests. there is a super nice pool a little disc golf area and it's one of the few apartment complexes that still feels like old Austin in the good way. most of my neighbors have all been here 5+ years which is always a good sign! read more

I've been at this apartment for half a year now and have really enjoyed my time. It's quiet, clean, and affordable. The pool was so nice this summer and had shade from big beautiful trees. I absolutely love having the dog park and the grilling area is a nice touch as well. Apartments suck but this one doesn't! Alexa is such a sweetheart and Rudy is just so helpful and kind. I thought about writing this for a while but in the hopes of helping someone else, here it is. I lived here from aug 2019 to july 2020, the whole time I lived here it felt like a damp dungeon. I'll post some pics on why. From my dishwasher never working once, to being CHASED to my front door and harassed by the homeless, having my car broken into 5 different times, absolutely not enough parking for the amount of residents, an older couple down the hall taking pictures of me, following me around the complex, messing with my car and constantly calling the cops on me for nothing. It is not safe to live here as a single female in your 20's/30's. The actual unit itself was DISGUSTING. The AC leaked from the ceiling into the bathroom and i would come home everyday to my things soaking wet. It ruined several personal items. I requested them to fix this constistantly my whole stay here and it was never once fixed. Black mold started growing all over the ceiling, and because we are in Texas with trees and humidity, the mold would attract giant wood roaches that i would find only crawlinh out of ceiling or in my shower. wanna know they fixed it? they painted over it. The problems never went away. Rust filled my bathtub every single day, i would have to scrub the tub hoping i don't get tetanus from the giant particals floating around. I was never able to take a bath once. & the list goes on. Run from this place, i promise there's way way better options for way cheaper. ( Katie the only property manager/leasing agent is a sweetheart and does her best with whats been given from the actual management company, but it just wasn't enough) read more

This place was awful. Management placed me next to a neighbor with a very aggressive pit bull that was left to roam unleashed, despite me requesting to live elsewhere on-site. Roaches come through the walls, the A/C may work if you are lucky and the apartments have the shortest ceilings I've ever seen. Can I stand up in here? Also, they do shady billing with the utilities. Expect them to drain and fill up the pool like three times a week and have it show up on your water bill. That's right, they don't do metered water, they just charge you however they see fit. read more

This year, living in Stony Creek, I was ferociously attacked by bedbugs. After throwing away my bed and clothes, this apartment complex added insult to injury by charging me for the pest control fees to get rid of the bedbugs. My car has been towed 3 times for no reason. The mailboxes have been destroyed for 2 years now and the Laundromat only has two working washing machines - for the entire complex. Asking for maintenance to fix something around here is like asking Darla to be honest. Not gonna happen. read more

When I arrived, the leasing office was closed...I couldn't believe the leasing agent did not even show for the appointment I had scheduled! How disrespectful. Very reasonable prices for what you get. Nothing fancy, but it's quiet, calm, and the office staff are wonderful. The google fiber and smart home system really make it worth while to me. Never had any issues with maintenance, everything we've brought up has been fixed either that day or the next. Parking can be a bit tight so get your covered parking while you can so you always have a spot. Any issues with bugs were also dealt with within 2 days. Being near Mopac, it's also a great spot for me to get up north or downtown quickly. Edit: We've renewed our lease; Katie is absolutely awesome, and regularly goes above and beyond whenever we've needed help with something. I can't stress enough how important great management like her is to my family. Thanks a ton! read more

WE MOVED OUT IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS OF MOVE IN ! BEWARE TWO TYPES OF ROACHES, INFESTED, FILTHY, LACK OF MAINTENANCE. The only reason I give this place a star is because David in the front office had a good personality. Though we faced several changes on the move in time we felt as if the complex was communicating effectively about move in issues. First we were promised a first floor that would be ready on 8/1 only to be called and told sorry it will not be ready until the 8/4 . So coming from another state that put us in a hotel for 5 days that cost more than the rent for the month. On move in day we showed up collected the keys to only find the cleaning crew was still in the apartment working. We patiently waited until they finished , which was an hour after the promise time. We began to move in and I noticed the apartment was rather old, dark ,and dirty. I thought to myself wow, what were they cleaning before we got here. As I moved through the apartment I stared to notice red flags. Simple maintenance things like air vents, carpet, counters, cabinets, tubs, ceilings, doors, locks and every surface in the apartment was dusty, worn, and in really rough shape. The tub surround had a severe mold problem. Tiles were bubbling from behind the faucet. Patio doors had mildew/mold build up from condensation. The doors were very old and had some difficulty in opening. Walls , baseboards, and ceilings were in bad need of sanding resurfacing and paint. Counters that needed replacing were not even cleaned. Food particles splatter and gunk were left from who knows how many tenants. Interior of the drawers looked as if they had been chewed apart. The drip pans from the stove were missing so you could not cook without buying new ones. The entire apartment was effected with over spray from the painters. Just imagine if they don't care that the contractors damage the property with poor repairs they will not care to fix things if they break. Speaking of broken things the dishwasher did not work , obvious water leaks, front door moved within the jam . Aesthetically the outside grounds are nice. The apartment not so much. I noticed one roach, then two , then we kept seeing them. I started to video and noticed that basically every room had a infestation from the air vents to the baseboards. We contacted management showed them the video and they said the earliest they could have pest control out in the apartment was 4 days at the earliest but he could not guarantee that the would be out that soon. We went out and purchased two industrial cans of roach killer and sticky boards . The more we sprayed the more showed up running all over the walls, ceilings and air vents. Looking closer and googling how to kill roaches and infestation like what we were experiencing would require a tent of the entire unit. Also the dirt that was on the walls is roach excrement , hazardous to humans because it causes asthma and other health problems. We had no choice other than staying there that night. When we laid down 4 roaches scurried up the wall behind us. Honestly that was a night from hell. My husband stayed up all night looking for another place , calling movers, and realtors to find us a new place. In between he started catching the roaches in a plastic clear cup. When he stopped counting he had over 50 in that cup. My advice is to stay clear from this place and not to fall for the nice office and grounds . Honestly I have seen hoarders that live in a nicer place than what was provided to us. I pray this establishment will do the right thing and rid their property from pest and filth. Do not move here. If you find yourself living here, then MAKE SURE YOU MAKE ANY COMMUNICATION IN WRITING. They WILL attempt to screw you however they can but here are a few major red flags: 1. A building caught on fire once because the maintenance man has literally no clue as to how to do maintenance. On this day, he was pretending to learn how to be an electrician, not realizing that one doesn't run unshielded cables that can get hot right next to exposed insulation (the cheap flammable kind!) 2. One maintenance man (the one that caused the fire but is at least friendly and incompetent) can't walk up stairs. That's right. Anyone on level 2 and above is screwed because this 'ol arthritic retiree doesn't make it up the stairs. 3. The other "maintenance man" has all the overt signs of extreme methamphetamine usage and I've never actually witness him maintain anything except frequent contact with random juggalo methheads 24 hours a day. He claims he built the pool. If he did, it was his first and only hole he dug himself out of. 4. Apparently it's OK for your neighbor's "guests" to ride a (stolen) motorcycle inside his apartment at 3am, while technically not even living there, being on any sort of lease, etc. and the property manager can excuse this type of behavior. 5. There are drunks who regularly ruin any sort of pool experience you could hope to have. Every night they sit and smoke and drink and management doesn't really mind. I say "Drunks" but what I mean to say is "creepy hopeless losers who do nothing other than drink and hit on people 40 years younger than them". I have never witnessed a scenario in which a decent resident (new person) wasn't creeped out by the pool regulars. 6. If you do have maintenance issues, prepare to have a much better grasp of the word "disappointment" than ever before. It took them 9 months to replace a drawer in my kitchen. A drawer. It is literally 3, 4 pieces of wood and a handle. This is rocket science to them. 7. When I moved out, I was given no deposit and then overcharged for water bills resulting in me owing them a very small amount of money (less than$350) which they immediately turned over to the absolute worst collections' agency known to man. By immediately, I mean I haven't even received a bill yet. The collections' agency tried to inflate the cost by accusing me of breaking a lease in which I gave notice of my move out 60 days before. This increased the debt to over $4,000. The apartment complex had no record of my move-out notice even though we discussed this fact every single time I talked to them over the course of 2 months. 8. The only reason I'm writing this review is that I found so many similar review to mine that as one rape victim speaks out, others have the courage to also speak out. 9. Oh yeah, they tow cars for no reason too, so be careful parking your car anywhere on premise at night. They towed two different cars of mine for no reason and would not even admit calling the tow company. Or the towing company does it and they somehow allow it to happen with no impunity. Either way, at the very best these apartments are dangerous and not safe, at the worst you can really be mistreated to an almost criminal level that is so petty and dishonest it will make you question your faith in humanity. read more

The first year was okay. then they switched management. new management are the worst imaginable. so my ac broke during the summer it took about a week to get the part. luckily I had a friends place to stay at. then I had a rat infestation, I wrote multiple letters and left many voicemails, two months later they decide to send someone that only put sticky pieces of paper next to the refrigerator which did nothing. soon after I guess one died behind the dishwasher and my apartment became infested with giant flies. I have been staying with a friend for about 5months because I did not want myself or my dog to get bit by the rats. I called about the giant flies for them to do something and I got laughed at. it was disgusting the rats urinated all over my food somehow they opened the cabinets, so threw away a hundred something worth of spices and food. then tiny bugs infested after the giant flies and rats. also there are some sketchy people there, two guys tried to jump my boyfriend but they left because we were talking to an old lady downstairs complaining about someone playing music and she was telling me that has been living in the dark for about a week and cooking in the kitchen with a little lamp because supposedly the apartments can only change out a light bulb on Tuesdays. that really ticked me off because she is a nice old lady. oh yeah there would be a crazy lady that would start screaming curse words at random times of the day. pretty sketchy people there and worst management I have ever dealt with. and they will not give your deposit back and they will bill you for water bills that you never receive. its a load of bull. read more

I would not recommend these apartments to anyone. I lived here for a year and a half. The units are outdated from the cabinets to appliances. I had a wasp and roach problem, that took several phone calls and emails to finally get someone to take care of the problem. My biggest issue was with the office management. I had a major issue with my a/c unit that caused me to spend over $1,000 in utility bills within just 4 months. That is ridiculous for a 900 sq ft apartment. Maintenance would attempt to "fix" the issues but nothing was ever resolved. After 5 attempts of "repairing" the a/c, it was decided to replace the unit with a new unit. That still didn't work. I sent numerous emails and left numerous voicemails to the office staff, and would never get a response. They did a great job at ignoring the situation. The property management staff (especially the head manager) need more training on the importance of communication. Notices are sent out the day of when water is shutting off. To top things off, I was never notified that my water heater broke. I had to find out the hard way. When I called the emergency hotline, maintenance stated they notified the office staff of my broken water heater and that they were going to call me. I never received a phone or email from them. I even contacted the main office at M3 Property Management to express my concerns, and to no avail, my inquires were ignored just like local staff did. I could not wait for my lease to end and would suggest for others to keep looking. read more

I have been a resident here for 2 years. I will be moving in November because we are building our first home. This apartment has been an ideal interim residence. I love the location. I am directly in the middle of downtown/sola/sofi districts and Moontower, Central Market is literally down the street, and I am close to both Mopac and I-35. Considering the convenience of the location, I understand I will pay more for rent. This complex is the lowest rent with the best location in the area. Also, they offer FREE GOOGLE FIBER INTERNET!!! When they finally completed the process, it has been amazing. I will definitely be sad to lose that when we move. There is definite room for improvement, maintenance is a bit on the slow side- though the other reviews are make it way more of a bigger issue than I experienced. The office staff is very friendly and have improved with their hours of availability greatly over the last few months. The insides are nice in the upgrade units- wood flooring, cabinet hardware, new doors, but you pay more for upgrades. Also, I would highly suggest renting a covered parking spot, otherwise you may not find parking. Overall, our experience has been very positive. Is it perfect? No, but where is? read more

I am grateful to have discovered Stony Creek Apartments and have lived here for a number of years now. The complex has evolved over the past few years by having each building upgraded with refinished balconies and new paint for a fresh new look; the parking lot has been resurfaced with covered spaces installed for residents; many of the sidewalks have been redesigned and paved; significant improvement to the landscaping (fresh mulch, white rocks etc.) and best of all, the fenced in dog run where it is commonplace become acquainted with residents of the community and their dogs! The only thing that hasn't changed is that it is still relatively quiet here and the vibe hasn't lost any of it's serenity with the city's growing population. I thought about it and took the time to write this review to balance the generalization that most "yelpers" are more motivated to draft reviews in response to perceived negative perspectives than positive ones.
