They need to get a new employee system it's either the employees are lazy, they can't be bothered with anything important or a union thing. The check out stand and customer service stands have a lack of employees or no employees if you need help or in a rush and there's no help for the bottle return. They either need to lax their hiring standards or shut the place down for underperformance. read more

Been coming for 30 + years. It's convenient but that's it. The self checkout is a joke. Four stations but seldom are they all available. One card scanner has been dangling for months! Another will not scan your SS card. Parking lot lights out, shelves are not consistently stocked. I have brought all of this up on the survey they ask you to take. But nothing has been addressed except for the lack of baskets at the north doors. Thankfully, after many complaints they seem to have addressed this problem. Management needs to really take a good look at how this store is managed and staffed. read more

My only complaint is that there is no where to sit while waiting to be picked up. There is a bench (look behind bike) but, over the years it has made its way to the end of this 'alley' it is in a place that is not visible from parking lot. It is also in a place that the person sitting there cannot see their Uber. The only use it has is being the employee smoking bench and break bench. read more

I have been coming here for 25+ years but the quality of the food has declined so drastically I refuse to feed it to my family. Still a sub par shopping experience. I seldom go to this store, but stop in once in a while, for a few items (since it's near the ATM I use). My last visit was typically underwhelming. I've always wondered why this store smells funny. I notice it every time I go there. Also, the milk refrigerators smell BAD! How about a little cleaning once in a while? Unpleasant, as you have to keep the door open for a while sometimes to find a somewhat dry container of milk. Also, this store does not seem as well stocked as the other supermarkets in the area (including the Elliott St. Stop & Shop). Produce selection was limited on my last visit. Overall, I rank this store lower than any of the surrounding markets. Despite proximity to my ATM, I think I'll skip it from now on. read more

Seems like all the morning cashiers have coughs everytime i go here. A few weeks ago a cashier blew her nose with an old tissue and put it back in her pocket then proceeded to handle the food. No hand wash. This morning the cashier licked her fingers to open the bag and she then handled the food and then licked her fingers again counting the change. Thanks for sharing your grems! Here's the thing. Grocery stores are working as hard as they can to keep up with our demands and safety demands and keep themselves safe, and sometimes they run out of things. Sometimes there's a global pandemic AND a HUGE snowstorm headed your way and everyone in town has decided to order curbside delivery on the same day when the store is understaffed for such a situation because that's not projected on a normal Wednesday. And SOMETIMES the store doesn't have everything you asked for, but here at THIS store you have ADAM to lean on! ADAM who will go through your entire order item by item and run the aisles making sure you get what you need and call you back three times if needed to make sure you're happy, and not only that but he'll be in a good mood whilst doing it! He deserved a MUCH BIGGER tip than my husband was prepared to give him and a raise and a crown and a hug. Thank you ADAM! This whole chain of supermarkets is so overpriced. Here are a few examples from my last trip there. Rottiserie chicken $7.99 at Stop & Shop and $3.99 at Market Basket, Agave nectar $4.99 at Stop & Shop and $3.79 at Market Basket, Apples $1.99 / lb. at Stop& Shop and & $.99 / lb. at Market Basket. Most of the registers are not open, so you go to the self-vserve, and it doesn't work if you buy anything in a large package or out of the ordinary, so you have to wait for help. read more

Well, my thought on all the negative remarks is to be in someone else's shoes, when they work so hard in Stop and Shop. Many customers do not realize what goes on in the business world. Many employees work short hours because those are the hours they can get, because of insurance. If they work over the hour's insurance will be canceled, even though everyone in MA has to have some kind of insurance coverage. Some of the employees are working from one job to another to make their bosses happy, as well, as the customers. Prices vary from the demand of the products that customers want and the industry company can get for their customers. You have to figure out the location and the traveling of the products to get from one place to another. You can use coupons and get gas points at Stop and Shop. The customers need to educate themselves to be smart shoppers. We live in a world of demand, demand, and demand. Remember when Market Basket was going under, who was there to make sure all the customers were able to shop and get what they needed, Stop and Shop and Shaw's. How soon we forget!!!! When I was shopping at Stop and Shop and customers from Market Basket were complaining about they could not find a product or the prices were higher than Market Basket. When I went to get a chicken product, one of the Market Basket customers was so rude to me and took it out of my hand. I was very polite to that customer, and ask them next time to be polite and not take something out of my hand when I had it first. She was still rude to me and told me off. I just smiled back at her and ask her to remember that the employees at Stop and Shop where working very hard to satisfy all the customers. If she was so unhappy then to go somewhere else. Many were so tired because they were working overtime, (those that could) and in various departments to achieve the goal of getting the job done. Extra food was sent from other states and additional carts were purchased. The shelves had to be restocked, balloons had to be blown up for events, Flower arrangements were in high demand. The bake goods needed to made very early in the morning. Yes, I know about these things because I purchase from Stop and Shop, Enon Street, Beverly, MA. No place is perfect, but just remember when someone comes up to you and takes the time to ask, "May I help you" Be pleasant. My daughter takes the time to assist the customers even when she is in line and has checked out for the day. Remember to be kind and respectful, for this will teach the next generations.!!! read more

Unfortunately, once my go-to grocery store, I will no longer return. For the last few years I have watched as management has changed and quality customer care has gone out the window. No one seems happy working there. Yesterday I wanted to purchase the on sale hamburg, only to be told they would have more in about 45 minutes. It was 2pm! They do not seem to be able to keep certain items in stock, store brand English muffins, whole wheat or produce. Too many times I have left the store still needing half of what was on my list. But what finally made my decision to stop shopping here is the new installation of grotesque plastic bag carousels at the end of each check-out line. I bring my own reusable bags. With this new configuration, the cashiers no longer have space to do anything but put items in those plastic bags. It is a shame that Stop & Shop has made a corporate decision to take a giant leap backward. So, I'll drive a little further down 1A and shop at Shaw's. read more
