Almost no checkers available. This store over-relies on self-checkout to an extreme. There's one checker available as I write this and a long line of people waiting who don't all want to check themselves out. It's awful. I asked customer service and they said there's no one else available. read more

The only other two reviews here begin to scratch the surface for how bad this S&S is. I've been to a number in the Boston area but this one makes those look like Valhalla Frankly the shorter list to prodce here are things this store does well (spoiler alert: not much). But as in all instances the fish rots from the head. This is an issue that begins at corporate and makes its way down to the store level. They have clearly not taken the Amazon/Whole Foods threat seriously and it won't be long before they start shutting them down. It so happened that before the issue I had with this location there was a small CS issue I needed to address with the Big Y directly across the street. The people at Big Y were responsive, understanding and addressed the problem immediately, no questions asked. I attempted to address an issue with the manager Brian Yeoman and he made it into a federal investigation: "Lets discuss it", "where's your receipt?". Argh. Forget it. Immediate needs can be taken care of at Big Y and other needs at other places. All the Stop & Shops are terrible. This is just the bottom of the barrel. read more

They arrived within the time frame, followed directions...wish they took more time picking my produce, but the energy I saved just having to put the groceries away=priceless. read more

The man at the deli cutting my cheese was scratching his head and touching my cheese again. Very poor and unsanitary practice.

I was exceptionally disappointed in Stop and Shop in E Longmeadow today. Very depleted produce section. Lots and lots of empty spots. A clerk was stocking shelves in Canned Vegetables: he had a cart of broken down boxes and then his dolly of full boxes. He completely blocked the entire aisle. I said to him, I am just moving your cart of boxes, so I can get through and I got a really dirty look from him. Not an I am sorry, nothing but the dirty look. Dairy section was also depleted. I get to the self checkout and the thing freezes halfway through my order. Of course it says help is coming. After five minutes, I threw the stuff back into my cart and went to another lane. Surely S & S can afford to have one clerk oversee the 10 or so self check lanes?? There was no one in sight. I will be shopping across the street at Big Y in the future. This store has been below par since the strike. read more

They put the wrong price on the shelf and it costs more at the register. You can get it fixed but first you have to let them take the extra money. Then you have to wait in line at customer service behind the people getting their scratch tickets cashed in and their bottle deposit slips cashed. If you are lucky you might only have to wait a half hour to get the money that they stole from you read more

This grocery store continues to be the saddest place to shop. While other places are hustling to at least attempt to aesthetically cover over their lack of stock during these difficult pandemic times, Stop & Shop in East Longmeadow is "letting themselves go." Among my primary complaints are: Huge gaps in produce, which is mostly wilted and merely tossed in the general direction of the display bins. Shelves upon shelves of depleted stock, without any attempt to apply cosmetic fill in of any kind. The store itself just looks disheveled and dirty. Unfriendly and seemingly distracted staff, who have been unhelpful to the point of rudeness. A belligerently determined cleaning robot which seems to actively chase customers around the store. This place is clearly run by grade-B management who apparently do not take very much pride in the place they run or the people they work with - not to mention the community that they impact. I'm done with this place. read more

I shop at a number of stores and this is the only one that doesn't have an employee cleaning the carts. The wipes dispenser has been empty the last 2 visits. Speaking of shopping carts, this store has the worst carts of any around! The cart area is always trashy. read more

Worst produce I've seen in any supermarket. If something has mold growing on it you should probably remove it from the shelf. Cashiers are rude, unfriendly, and impersonal. Long waits on checkout. If you see I'm in the middle of taking my stuff out of my cart don't ask me for my Stop & Shop card, it really can wait until I am done. It's like a high school in this place, with the cashiers and baggers joking and talking, ignoring the customer. The deli is gross, and the clerks are miserable. They are always low or out of sale items. The good things... They have two Redbox rental machines, and a big natural food section. read more

This store is a complete mess. They have the worst customer service of any grocery store I've ever been in. They never have enough cashiers, usually just one or maybe two if it's busy. The cashiers will act as if they are doing you some kind of big favor by scanning your items, then they'll give you a dirty look if you don't bag them yourself. read more

I just stopped by this store to pick up some organic veggies. Nice people, reasonable prices, and fast check out. Someone actually asked to help me find something before I even had to go looking. How refreshing! read more
