We had Frigo Catered our daughter's wedding 2 weeks ago. Working with Renne, she is incredible. She was so helpful throughout the whole process. Every time I called with a question, she couldn't have been more gracious to help. The team she brought (Tyler, Lizzy and Haley) were the best. They were so accommodating and fun to see them in action. Renee promised there was nothing to worries about and she was so right. And the Food , OMG the best. You definitely get your money's worth and the service is usually good, although sometimes slow. The only downside is there's nowhere to eat -- you'll have to take it with you. Yes it's around 40% cheaper than Bricco Salumeria of north end (well real estate is cheaper here baby) but the care and the taste is fresh. Most of their fast moving items are always fresh. Had the speciality of the day : stuffed cabbage. Really soft and juicy yet perfectly holding shape and crunch. They might screw up your Order like mine: asked for a veal but got an eggplant and I was pleasantly surprised as the eggplant was so juicy and tasty, all 12 inch of a small sandwich of $7.5. Haha. Not quite as OMFG amazing as the much larger Frigo in Springfield, but nevertheless Frigo in East Longmeadow is a very sweet place. They sell close to 30 different sandwiches - a kaleidoscopic spectrum of cold cuts, meatballs, sausages, cutlets, cheeses, veggies, and dressings. We didn't buy one sandwich today, but we spent around $50 on a basket-ful of their takeout delicacies. We picked up: BLT pasta salad Antipasto salad (loaded with meats) Coconut shrimp Spinach bread sausage ravioli marsala chicken parmagiana with ziti Three of just just had a nice dinner made out of the coconut shrimp, antipasto, and spinach bread. The shrimps were decent sized, with a nice coconutty crust. A few minutes in the toaster oven and they were fabulous. The antipasto was stellar- nice crisp veggies, no soggy rejects here. And a lot of cold cuts spears- turkey and ham seemed to dominate. But I think the spinach bread stole the show. A nice light loaf absolutely crammed with a moist spinach and garlic stuffing. It was excellent. We'll have the rest another day soon. Frigo is a wonderful place. read more

Walk to the counter and waiting to order a sandwich, twenty people working no organization, they take multiple orders behind me as if I don't exist. Frigo's is our family's go-to caterer for big family events. Over the years, they have provided great selections for our Thanksgivings, Christmases, birthdays, christenings, etc. Their food is always homemade, generous, and well seasoned. They have provided delivery services and pick up services. Our favorites are the Italian standards. The food is ready for final warming in your oven and is already cooked. Except for the major holidays they can provide just in time delivery for your event. As for their store front, they have a wide selection of Italian specialty items along with a deli counter. Their sandwiches are very good. For large events, we find the cost of a finished dinner is not much more than what you might pay in a grocery store for just the ingredients. Do not use their online ordering. On December 15th I placed an online order for pick up December 25th at 11:00 a.m. A lasagna, grilled vegetable, Frigo's chicken trays and two pasta salads. Frigo's confirmed the order, amount and pick up time/date on December 16th. They charged my credit card. When I went to pick up the order, the store was closed, doors locked and all attempts to contact Frigo's went unanswered. When an actual employee was available on the 27th I was told, "Everything's closed on Christmas and we had alot of orders to fill on the 24th". Only after emailing Frigo's was my purchase refunded to my credit card. The one star is for the $50.00 gift card offered as compensation for the failed Christmas dinner order. Frigo Foods is an Italian foods wonderland, and I am Alice. Totally wonderful in every way. Stopped in last week because I had to wait 3 hours for my car to be detailed. I was on the bike path in E Longmeadow, going the back way to Starbucks, when I spied Frigo's and remembered how good my little grocery purchase was a couple of years ago. This time, I had time to kill, so created a little salad sampler with some pork drumsticks, thanks to my great server Susan, who was so accomodating, my total tab was under $10 for the most amazing lunch of my month. A cold cut or chicken cutlet grinder from frigos always hits the spot for me. Their meals are very generous portion sizes. They occasionally have these chicken cordon bleu balls that are to die for. Their fish and chips Friday is INCREDIBLY popular ... they often sell out. You can get lots of Italian staple food there .... Fresh frozen pastas, sauce, salamis and cheeses. Great staff. Always one of our favorite spots. I have a pretty big mouth so I've told a lot of my coworkers/ friends about this place and everyone that tries it loves it. I've been to both the Springfield and East Longmeadow location, but I prefer East Longmeadow because of more parking and inside seating. Food: All of their sandwiches are made with Boar's Head meats and cheese, bread made fresh on site. I try something different almost every time we go and I've never been disappointed. Their sides are amazing, this time we got their fried lobster risotto ball, but I've also had their caprese salad, fried raviolis, fried shrimp and eggplant parmesan. I'm not sure where the desserts came from (I know they don't make them) but they are also fantastic. Don't bother going to La Florentine right up the street, everything you need is right there. Staff: Very efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable about their products. Price: Some people complain about their prices being too high, but I think for the quality of the product, and the amount of food that you get its a great deal. For lunch we got a a sandwich, a fried lobster risotto ball, drink and dessert for $20. Other Services: They also have a great selection of olive oils, truffles, and pasta. This place is a gem! Came here with some friends and I was amazed at the selection! I was totally upset that I was set on my paleo diet. I just started, so I wasn't ready to veer away from it just yet. I ordered the beef stuffed cabbage in marinara sauce. Our friends got the fish and chips and my fiancé got a sandwich, we also got quiche to split. The total was about $45 which is super cheap for all four of us. We could have eaten there, but the lines were crazy and there's only two little tables there. My sister came in to town and we brought her here. Everyone loved what they ordered. My son, who is a rambunctious two year old ordered his own meal, a ziti covered in marinara with two meat balls. He devoured his meal! He's a picky boy, so I was stoked. My sister got one of their homemade sodas and said it was delish! I was able to order a package of prosciutto home (for my spicy deviled egg with prosciutto). Great find! I frequent Frigo's maybe a dozen times a year with usually a good review each time. Nice selection of prepared foods along with some awesome grinder choices. The chicken parm grinder is my favorite with an extremely generous portion of chicken. The store is very clean and sometimes very crowded and stressful. Confusion arises when ordering as they have no ordered structure. Employees behind the service counter are not always the friendliest, but the cashier usually makes up for it. I love their grinders and am sure to go back. Best value for grinders around. If you hate cooking this is the place to go. Their selection changes daily, and you'll never see someone leave empty handed. Only thing I don't understand is how they can keep food, including all types of meats on platters not refrigerated on top of the display case. I've never seen that anywhere. This place has gone downhill. We've gotten some decent sandwiches there but lately they've been getting worse and worse. Tonight I finally hit my breaking point though and I don't think we will be returning. I got The Carnivore sandwich and what they gave me was so gross it was inedible. The wrapper was leaking a watery substance before I even opened it. Inside it was a soggy, slimy, wet, floppy sandwich. It literally sagged to the side when I picked it up. It was so slimy and slippery that I couldn't hold it without it slipping out of my hands. The roast reef was also over done and dry. I literally took one bite and threw it away. I knew this place was going to be good when I walked in and the first thing I saw was a huge box of homemade Italian cookies. Apparently there is another larger location in Springfield? But this spot is great when you're on the go and just need to grab something. We came in looking for a sammich, and my Springfield College Chief did not disappoint. It was ginormous, so much so that my bf and I could've split it and not gone hungry. They were kind of on the slow side making the sandwiches even though it wasn't busy, so that's why I docked a star.
