Why does a store cross merchandise or outpost the same product in the same store but charge a different price? Makes no sense. Normally a store does it to provide service to the customer and drive additional sales. But charging a different price within the same 4 walls is just wrong. I have worked in retail all my life up to corporate level and have never seen it until Big Y. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more

I had a horrible experience at Stop and Shop across the street today; I picked up a package of bacon that clearly had two round spots of green mold. When I brought over to the Deli person, she told me it was not her department. I checked out with what I had less any meat and went to Big Y to finish my shopping. Their bacon was fresh looking and the peaches and plums were a dollar a pound cheaper than the Moldy Supermarket. I did call manager at S & S and told him that his employees made me a Big Y shopper today. In the past, I just did not like not having plastic bags, but S & S does not have now either so I would rather shop at a clean, well stocked store that has meat with the green mold of Stop and Shop! read more

Big Y is an Everyday Grocery Store with many Ammenities. To note a few they have quite an extensive baked goods selection (maybe half of which are actually baked there it seems) which are well worth a try. They also carry quite an extensive Cheese Selection, a Warm Soup Counter and much more! Also the Staff is always Friendly and Helpful and the Market is Always Clean and Well Kept! read more

The prices are way more than any other supermarket. The aisles are narrow and crowded leading to frustration and anger. With the few drawbacks to Big Y they do have great produce, seafood, and meat in this location. Everything I feel is fresh and can be trusted for quality. They have different items that other stores don't carry. The staff is more professional than Stop & Shop. If they'd lower their prices they'd be the perfect supermarket. read more

Although I love your selection of produce, your rotisserie chicken is an abomination. I brought it for a christmas party with 20 people there; and 95% of the party though it was dry. Dry! I mean why would I even bother to buy one instead of making my own if it's going to come out like Its been in the Gobi dessert for 2 months. And forget about spices. I actually like this Big Y more than our local Longmeadow one. It's much bigger with a better selection. But I don't like how much more crowded it is. The vegetable section is what does it for me. So many choices! I love it. The employees here are super nice. They honestly have everything you need in the store. It's clean and always stocked. read more

Huge fan of Big Y! Everything about them, from their employees to how well kept the store is, speaks class. I never had a disappointing trip to Big-Y. The prices might be more expensive in comparison to other grocery stores, but they make up for it with the quality of the items that they put out. Personally, I love their sushi since it is made fresh daily and if it looks iffy in regards to whether or not it's fresh, they have a sushi chef nearby to make you a fresh batch! read more
