This is a very clean and orderly supermarket. There's a huge selection of organic products! Something I'm not very used to, since we just moved here from Hawaii. They even had fresh lamb chops, which I loved and was rarely stocked up at the shelves in Hawaii. I can get fresh Brussels sprout? Say what?!? Being Asian, I noted the very small section of Asian seasoning and noodle products. Guess I'm going to have to order my fish sauce online :( When I was getting ready to check out, I told the cashier I needed to sign up for a card, but didn't want to fill out the application until later. She got the stores card and swiped it for me anyways. Loved it! I'm really going to love living here. Everyone is so nice. If only the drivers were more patient! read more

The store itself is nice, but the butcher is had the displeasure of being serviced by refused to be of service.

I have a broken foot and could not shop as we were told this location has no handicapped carts. Like way to exclude handicapped people. And yes, my brother who went to get one for me was told by an employee they do jot have then. I get maybe people abused them, but it is easily resolved by holding someone's id. read more

I came in to order a panini, and the entire experience was a huge letdown. First off, even though there was no one ahead of me in line, the employees took an unusually long time to take my order and prepare the food there was zero sense of urgency. When I finally got the panini, I was shocked to find that the chicken inside was completely undercooked actually raw in the middle. Not only is that unacceptable from a food safety standpoint, but it also meant I had to throw out the entire sandwich. I went to E Longmeadow Big Y - I went to Deli which had quite the crowd waiting for service. The young man, Jake, told everyone don't worry we will work quickly and get you serviced. He did and with such grace and good will. Big Y has a good emplyee in Jake- Hopefully store manager will read and let Jake know the customers recognize his service. read more

Stopped in as I was working near by and ordered up a steak, cheese, onion and Sriracha wrap. The thing was phenomenal and I'm going to make sure that I'm in the area more often around lunch time, thank you Billy for an extremely great tasting sandwich. read more

I went to the seafood department today and was refused service at 720pm. The person working first told me, they stop taking orders at 730. When I pointed out it was 720. He responded they could not do any overtime and he still could not serve me. I then went to customer service and verified the time the department closed and was told 8 pm. I relayed what happened at the counter. He said maybe they were short staffed but I should go back and ask. He asked me to wait while he verified with manager. I was finally told that it was supposed to close at 8 but they shut everything down already. He offered me a voucher for free food next time but then asked me to wait to get my information. At that point, after, I was beyond annoyed and just left. I understand that we are all dealing with staffing issues but I hated the run around. I was just in a couple of days prior and asked what time they stopped taking orders and was told 8 pm. Ultimately, I was very disappointed in their inability to provide adequate customer service as well as failure to provide service during the posted times. Something should have been posted that they were closing early. read more

A great experience every time I visit. The produce section always looked well stocked and fresh, the bakery section is small but filled with a variety of cakes, pies, and cookies. The rest of the store is well maintained, and the butcher is extremely kind and helpful. read more

Big-Y has let this store rot because they know there is no real competition nearby. They're currently renovating it, but it appears to be a cheap, half-as**d do over, with the dumpy exterior left as it has been for the past half century. I'll continue to make the trip up to Whole Foods or the Co-Op in Amherst, both of which have vastly nicer products, meats, cheeses, produce, and are much nicer inside. Not normally the place I do my grocery shopping, however it's convenient to where I work. I shop here mostly for a special occasion, a birthday or anniversary, etc. I will say the cashier in the morning that works the express is amazing! However where your company falls short is the morning bakery crew. The employees there always have such terrible attitudes. You actually walk out of there feeling like you were the one who inconvenienced them for asking for a product in the case. Good luck in asking for something written on a cake. They'll do it, but again with attitude. Each time my experience with these employees has been poor to the point that I am writing this review. I just don't get it, if you so dislike your job, and don't want to deal with the public then find something else. My mom worked many years for Big Y in the Deli at another location. She took pride In servicing her customers to the point that many waited just for her to help them. Clearly these employees have lost there way of valuing their customers. read more

I buy a lot of organic produce, which is very expensive at big Y. My issue is not with a price, but rather the quality. Often the produce is either moldy, flavorless, or clearly old and mushy. After buying two packages of organic blueberries and two packages of organic cherry tomatoes, I realized I had spent over $20 and the blueberries had mold and the tomatoes were old and soft. So I brought them back and was treated as if I had done something wrong. First, I never received an apology for selling the bad produce. Secondly, I had Covid and brought the produce back three weeks later. They told me they would make an exception and refund my money this one time, but three weeks is too late and won't again. I told them they don't have to worry about the one time because I won't buy it there anymore. Skip big Y and get a Costco account. big y'all quelity is horrible and their customer service absolutely stinks! read more

went in to buy my baby formula at 7:45 but because it's only we're customer service is I was refused because the girl working decided to close it down 15 minutes early. either way it's baby formula the cashiers should be able to check you out I think that's totally ridiculous. read more

Best in the area. Help is available. Everyone is masked, and the one-way system is made to work in the Longmeadow,MA store. Produce and deli department top notch. If you go there after three in the afternoon, it looks like all the adults were kidnapped and the place was taken over by middle schoolers. I'm all for kids having jobs, but this place takes it to the extreme. It seems clean enough. The prices seem consistent with competitors. Their roof was leaking this winter so when you walked in it looked like you were under a rickety old circus tent that was just seconds away from collapsing and splashing water all over your cart. Make sure you don't forget to put everything from your cart on the belt. Otherwise the assistant manager (I think) will chase you to your car accusing you of intentionally stealing. She was kind of a biotch. I just spent $200 on food, you think I'm trying to steal $6 in juice? Gawd. Check yo' self when you go in there. read more

Where to begin. I have shopped here because of convenience. The prices are high if you compare them to Shop Rite or even Whole Foods. The variety in the international isle is very weak. I think driving to Whole Foods to Hartford is worth the drive. The other thing that bothers me is the staff. The customer service here is horrible, especially with "managers" on the front end and in the produce. Would it hurt one of them to lift their heads and say hello? read more

Although it does look moderately better than before the renovation, the major problem persists: their prices. We have a joke in our family that no matter what you buy at Big Y, it's always $50+. And it's not an exaggeration. Yesterday I went to Whole Foods and had a far larger selection (especially of health foods and vegan foods), WAY better produce, and spent $200 on what would have (if they even had it) cost me at least $300 at Big Y. Also, if you're ever tempted to try their hot foods bar, don't. I didn't know it was possible to screw up mozzarella sticks but theirs are gross. Go to River Valley or Whole Foods. It's worth the drive. Or Armata's if you need something quick. read more

This is the worst Big Y, and grocery store in general. I highly recommend going to East longmeadow, Enfield, CT, or Armatas in Longmeadow, if you 1. Want to find anything your looking for. 2. In the spirit of my Friendly's review, this was my supermarket. They usually had what I needed, and the prices were not terrible. While I was sad to see them gobble up Bliss Pharmacy, Brightwood and Kimmell's are still there last I checked, and the Big Y now provides even more service and stuff. There isn't nearly as much here as say the ones in East Longmeadow or West Springfield, but it's still a dependable and close place to buy food. read more
