One of the fancier Stop&Shop stores on the Cape. It's bright, shiny, with cheerful decor, and a huge selection. They even have a section devoted to local foods from Boston/Massachusetts. There's an entire row dedicated to ice cream. The produce department is a highlight- everything is fresh&ripe. The service is top notch, the registers don't get backed up. If you need to be in&out as quickly as possible, they'll do it. It's a luxurious Stop&Shop for the equally chic Mashpee Commons. read more

Was in the Mashpee store this week. The smell of the entire meat department was gag inducing. I was overcharged for items by an extremely rude employee and I will never shop there again because when I went back to the store for a refund on the overcharged items I again encountered another employee that clearly wasn't well trained and didn't know enough to at minimum apologize for the inconvenience read more

Small organic and natural offerings - the checkout folks are not the friendliest. The older Caucasian lady was a real peach- just said YEP when I said thank u after checking out- why am I saying thank you and then she was whipping my groceries across the down shoot of the caveour belt so fast my muffin tin popped open. Stop & Shop Mashpee continues as the worst supermarket in the area. This morning no hand sanitizer wipes of liquid as you enter the store. NONE! The man overseeing the Alf checkout rude and ill equipped to talk to customers. Shaw's , Market Basket and Roche Bro's put Stop & Shop to shame. read more

People who have claimed this grocery store has poor service and rude workers are correct. I ran into one today: a butcher in a blue baseball cap ( he was not wearing a name tag). I ask him if the store carried turkey sausage, he curtly responded that he had none. He was putting out hamburger so I just walked down towards the bacon and found the turkey sausage. I wanted to go back and say something to him, but people are crazy these days and I didn't want to get into an argument with people who worked with knives (lol). All kidding aside, the manager should reprimand this worker because he represents the company. I could have just as well gone to Roche Brothers at Mashpee Commons. I don't expect every worker to be "jolly and happy", but a little courtesy wouldn't hurt. It was obvious to me that this person just didn't care and didn't want to be bothered, let alone help me find the turkey sausage! read more

This weekend we stopped in at Stop & Shop to pick up some quick groceries and flowers. When we entered the store we were both pleasantly surprised and disappointed to see that this location had been remodeled. The new store looks great and the remodeling made it easier to get in and out, especially in the produce section. The one change that I wasn't a huge fan of was that they took away the floral department and made it into an organic food section. This isn't a big deal but they no longer have their flower coolers. All of the arrangements are pre-made now instead of being able to get a custom bouquet . That being said, the rest of the store is pretty typical and the staff is polite. Not a bad place to stop if you need to grab some groceries. read more

This stop& shop is horrible! I have had problems with this store since they opened and have continued to be disappointed over the years! Not only do I have to bag my own groceries 90% of the time, but when the cashier is done scanning my items they just stand there and watch me bag and wait for me to finish and pay. This happens week after week! And never ever do they say thank you. Occasionally they tell me how many gas points I have. I am done with this store!! read more

This Stop & Shop location is pretty standard as far as groceries go. Prices are generally a bit less than the other grocery store nearby, Roche Brothers (which I actually prefer). The staff is always pleasant and helpful. They have a fairly large bakery. I have been overcharged on an item once or twice, but if you're paying attention and bring it to Customer Service they are always quick to remedy the situation. I don't know if it's because I don't shop here often, but I find the store to be so big and spread out that it's confusing. read more

I'm sorry to say that I couldn't give this Stop and Shop five stars because of experience today. I went to the Citizen Bank, now called just plain old Citizens, to see the wonderful employees who work there and I grabbed a pink lollipop. The pink lollipop was such a let down, it was an indeterminate sugar sweet flavor and not a flavorful strawberry flavor that I was expecting. Very disappointed in this. read more

Since the strike this summer the Mashpee Stop and Shop has gone from bad to worse! Usually there is only one register open, often with a surly and miserable employee. Shoppers are expected to use the self check out, while at the same time there are usually two or more employees standing around doing absolutely nothing. Why aren't THEY working at a register? Good sale items are often out of stock, and with one person at customer service (nice lady, I feel bad for her) by the time you get a raincheck all your frozen food is thawed. Prices are generally very high compared to Market Basket, and the only people there who seem to care about what they are doing is the customer service lady and the Russian cashier. Stop and Shop makes the trip to Market Basket or Roche Brothers make sense! read more

Food is good - and S&S has it all (of course). The only thing that gets me about S&S is when my wife didn't have her S&S card - and they make you bring your S&S card and receipt back to them to get the S&S discount. read more

After living in Mashpee for three years, I have reduced my visits to Shop & Stop to a bare minimum due to bad experiences. The worst is the fish counter: I have tried both wild caught and previously frozen cod, and more times than not when I get it home, I find it has a smell and leaves a nasty, metallic aftertaste after cooking. Sure, you can save money here over Roche Bros., but Roche's fish is always first-rate. If you're on a budget like me, just buy less often but buy quality. There's nothing worse than old fish. Shopping here is an unpleasant experience in general. Today I ran into nothing but disgruntled employees, often busy chatting away with each other and giving you no attention at all. While in the meat section, a woman was reloading the ground beef and would not give me any space nor any help to find what I needed. I mainly go there now to buy cat food, as the Companion brand Beef flavor has no rice and non-meat additives, but as of today they have discontinued it. I have found their dairy products are fine and also their eggs if you inspect for breakage. We are a retired couple on a low carb diet who cook fresh food and buy few canned goods. We do not have money to burn, but we don't like paying for poor quality food either. We buy most meats and vegetables at Roche Bros., find specialty items like olive oil at Job Lot, and stock up on paper goods, coffee, nuts, cheese, and spices at Costco when we visit 3 or 4 times a year. You can get some value at Market Basket, but it's too long a drive for regular shopping. This store clearly has a labor-relations problem. I'm a pro-union guy and I sympathize with the employees even when they treat me badly. I think they must be getting a raw deal from management. When you treat your employees right, they pay you back in good service. Shop & Stop obviously doesn't. I'll still shop here for a few special items I can't find elsewhere, such as Busseto brand salami, or the significantly better price on Jarlsberg cheese, but my visits here will be as infrequent as possible. read more

Stop & Shop Mashpee - Great store! Helpful, friendly staff and managers. All go the extra mile for the customers. Prices super! Lot of the deli food much better quality than Roche Bros and other supermarkets. Be prepared to be at the deli forever!! Slowest deli workers!! Go to elsewhere!! It's a major time hog!!

The manager of the deli does not always follow health codes. He often only wears 1 glove when cutting meats for customers and doesn't change gloves between tasks (ex. phone calls) I have seen this several times now. Everyone in the deli should have a review on glove wearing, changing gloves etc. You must wash your hands before putting on new gloves or the whole purpose is defeated. Gloves must be changed between tasks like answering a phone and sweeping the floor before slicing meats for customers. read more

This is a Premier store, needs premier manager who can cut down employee turnover and recognize good long term employees like "Duncan", but at Seafood counter, fantastic. Meat dept and seafood excellent prices, Roche brothers prices outrageous!, Even their 23.00 cafeteria buffet, Give staff a room for a break so their not sitting outside during winter freezing on a bench, or inside on bench. Recognize long term staff, A birthday cake and small song for birthday, a 10.00 plaque for recognition, an Under bonus for outstanding leadership, pat premium for Winter outside carriage job, and give your help FREE WATER. STORE HAS GREAT SELECTION, GREAT YOUR PEOPLE AS bright young people, value long term leading disabled employees.
