I didn't feel that the food was that great, but it was also because we went to eat close to closing. This had no impact on my review because I'm sure as the day got later the food quality was different. And I have no doubt that if I ate earlier, the food would have been great!. There's an awesome alcohol and wine selection as well even though I'm not much of a drinker. It's very conveniently located on route 35 and very close to Red Bank. I live in Freehold but I still come to this Whole Foods even though there's one in the Marlboro area.

On multiple occasions, I've been greeted by staff upon entering the store. As with most Trader Joe's stores, it is a small grocery store, but there is always some treasure to be discovered. As much as I've tried to deny it, it has been a place to get some essentials and convenience items at a pretty good price. They always come out with some unique, seasonal items and I'm typically upset when they are sold out for the season. However, that's the fun of going to Trader Joe's! If you've read my previous reviews of other Trader Joe's stores, I usually have some sort of complaint about the parking lot. You can't tell me that Trader Joe's doesn't pick the worst section of the parking lot to place their stores. With that being said, the parking lot at this particular Trader Joe's is actually somewhat okay. It is at the end of a strip mall/shopping center, so it's on a corner, but not terrible. Just be sure to pay attention to the signs saying you can't turn in certain directions.

NOW, if you have not had these dumplings, you need to buy them, 6 cute little light, airy dumplings that you can steam them in the packaging in your microwave OR in steamer, but MINI-Me takes these to work and pops them in the micro, adds soy sauce, and chili crisp and she is happy. I bought the vegetable and pork, I prefer the pork and chicken flavored dumplings. They are absolutely easy to cook, work in a pinch and are very filling for lunch and they break up the old sandwich / salad crisis, just grab it out of your freezer and take to work. Aside from having some of the highest quality of meats, vegetables, seafood, and Italian specialties. I find the service to be delightful. Each and everyone of their staff members are highly trained, pleasant and knowledgeable. I find the price is slightly higher than most, but considering it's a specialty shop, it's to be expected.

We get cases of Pelegrino Essenza for $12. We get some chips/frozen foods/candy/etc for very good prices. However, the closeouts seem to be a smaller and smaller part of the store. They are now carrying a lot of regular groceries and their own off-brand. THe regular groceries and their off-brands are expensive. I see the prices and can generally beat them at Aldi or Lidl or at the regular supermarket on sale. We use to go every week, but have slowed down to once a month. We will probably hit it up every week until it closes at this point.

I do think the grocery and dry good sections are also pricy compared to the other grocery store in Middletown NJ. It's seems like you pay slightly higher cost to offset the convenience of proximity being the only supermarket between Garden State Parkway Exit 117 and Atlantic Highlands or Route 36. They just repaved the parking lot which is helpful since the rainy days would be such a mess in the big pot holes. It's all fixed up now and its a vast improvement. The lot is small near the store but as a whole there are plenty of spots either by the bank, throughout the entire shopping center or the extra commuter lot near the Wilson avenue entrance. I also believe the entire staff is friendly and generally happy a testament to the management team. I've been a patron for years and will continue to frequent this establishment. TRY THE CHICKEN you'll forget all about the Colonel!

I picked the shortest line. The female cashier is probably stronger than I am. I have a bad lower back and it's painful to handle all that heavy stuff, but my wife needs certain juices and gatorade for her health. I'm going to switch to another supermarket.
