Super helpful, knowledgeable, they get to know their patients / customers, take time to call Insurance and the Doctors. Ok, so they can't compete with the hours of the Big Box Pharmacies. So Pay for your Rx online and they'll overnight ship it to you. Problem solved. So many advantages to working with a local Pharmacy! Next time you're at CVS, pull up to their drive thru window only to find out it's broken and go inside. Then wait in their germ-infested line wrapped around two aisles only to get to the counter 25 min later and find out CVS: (a) only filled one of your two Rx's despite their App saying it's ready, (b) charge you out of pocket cost bc they never answered your insurance company's calls, or (c) CVS never filled your life-saving cancer med bc they just well forgot. All True! Check out West Hartford Apothecary or at the very least go to a local Pharmacy!

I left a voicemail no one called so I called the pharmacy the next day, it ended up the driver claimed he pounded on my door then shoved them in the mailbox and didn't tell anyone to alert me. I was suffering all night and little did I know the flipping pills were outside and one of them is a controlled substance if someone stole it I prob couldn't get replacement. Someone called blubbering and defending the delivery guy I just hung up after a while . Needless to say I'm finding a new pharmacy.

This pharmacy is a breath of fresh air after dealing with the typical modern pharmacy. In today's…read moresociety club memberships, gimmicks and all kinds of other complex schemes to attract business are the norm for a company. Those who run this pharmacy, however, seem to have rediscovered that you can gain customers simply by doing your job, doing it well, and treating the customer with courtesy and compassion! When you call this pharmacy, the phone is promptly answered by a human being. You don't have to sit though tons of advertisements / being put on hold for a long time. The staff are friendly, courteous, and helpful. Most importantly, though, they operate well when filling a prescription. With my previous pharmacy I'd worry whenever a refill was coming up, since there would almost always be some kind of a problem that the staff would do the minimum of work to solve. When you called the pharmacy, after a long wait, you'd be responded to by someone who seemed to find your call a nuisance (Not every person in the pharmacy was like this, but it was common). I only wish I'd known how great Nutmeg Pharmacy is earlier, since it saves me so much hassle and stress. Half the time when you call them to fill a prescription, they've already done it! I hadn't known that pharmacies like this still existed. Overall, Nutmeg Pharmacy is a wonderful small business that can still give that personal touch to their work. Because the pharmacy is a small business, though, I'm hoping that it will survive this difficult economy. I would instantly recommend Nutmeg Pharmacy to anyone!

They have been like family to us, making sure he has everything he needs. We have relocated to another state and there are no pharmacies that offer the amazing care that Nutmeg Pharmacy has. They deliver, which is an added bonus. I have recommended them to many people I know that also love them.

I am disgusted with how I was treated at this pharmacy…read more I was acknowledged by a round male with a clip on tie. Upon giving him my name for a pickup, it was obvious the effort to check the knee high bin was too great. Minutes later he returns, sliding me a number on a piece of paper like some bizarre negotiation, "That's what this is going to cost you". the number was about 10 times higher than the generic, so I inquired about that, seeing as how I received a call from that very pharmacy telling me my generic prescription was partially filled and will be ready the next day. "we don't get that" he replied. "you don't get that now, or wont be getting that again?" I asked. His response obviously annoyed "we don't get that". Even though the person who called told me they did, and the pharmacist I spoke with previously told me they could get it with a days notice. I inquired about the partial fill the other pharmacist offered. Clip on said, "its going to take at least 10 minutes" . Sure, Ill wait. You better believe i stared at him the entire time. Upon his return with my partial fill, I asked him what I can do differently to better prepare before arrival to pick up my prescription. "nothing" he stated, "there is nothing you can do", "People chase this (eyeing me with a disgusted look)" He was implying that I was somehow abusing my prescription and he was on to me. "you can call and we'll have it and some other person chasing this will take it before you can get it". I let him know it was a pleasure speaking with him, he didn't feel the same. Previously I've struggled with this Pharmacy filling prescriptions where they've blamed my carrier (who had the error log and it was in fact on Nutmeg's side) and provided me false information "your insurance will not cover generic, only name brand" all due to high staff turn over and improper supervision and training. It's unfortunate, as in my household there are (sadly) 3 people requiring medications both regularly and ad-hoc. We would much rather support a smaller business than throw money at CVS but with this treatment, why would I return? Hell, I can fill this at Costco , munch on a $1.50 hotdog and pick up a new flatscreen. Do better Nutmeg, your clientele is aging out and you should be kind and unassuming to all your customers. To Clip-on, I hope you cry into the day old lo-mien you eat for dinner. Other people aren't the reason you are lonely.

The Pharmacy at Blue Back Square is a brand new independent pharmacy that just opened in West…read moreHartford center to the left of The Cheesecake Factory. It's a small pharmacy, but it offers a really nice variety of all kids of things, skin care, oral care, baby care, supplements, hair care, specialty chocolate and tea, all the things are here. I love that most of these items are specialty, you won't find a lot of the items in your chain drugstore. Upon walking in I was immediately greeted by the very pleasant lady, and she offered to make me a espresso. That's such a sweet touch from a brand new business. They also offer juice or bottled water, if that's your preference. This pharmacy not only offers so many unique products, it's also the perfect stop for guests staying at Delamar who may not have an item on hand. This is most certainly a pharmacy, where you can pick up your prescription. I picked up some supplements, they cost about average. This is great little store and pharmacy it's organized and has a great variety of all kids of necessities. The staff are helpful, welcoming and pleasant. I'll be back here for sure.
