Besides making routine prescriptions easy to manage and obtain, we also got our Flu and Shingrix vaccines there. When getting the first Covid 19 shot, they were the first to successfully direct us to a source, when all you could get during the initial rollout anywhere were busy signals or "no appointments left". They have been excellent in dealing with insurance companies and the complexities of dealing with the Oncology Dept of a major NYC hospital. We haven't thrown them a curveball yet they couldn't hit. Their prices are competitive but you won't get the same level of service at any price. It also has a wonderful gift shop that always has interesting gifts. Supporting KFP also supports a local business (not funding the acquisition of a major insurance company) and nourishes our community. I encourage everyone to fill their drug store needs mindfully and consider the gem that is KFP.

That my party of 3 had never been there and we would need a minute to look at the menu, but we'd like to start with a drink, she snapped at me and said "food first" with a nasty look and tapping her pen on her order pad. 2 of us quickly ordered the 3rd ordered something that apparently wasn't served after 10:30, and it was 10:35, but we couldn't tell from the small type. Ordering the drinks wasnt much better, and when we paid the cashier tapped the sign about preferring cash tips after we tipped on our credit card. All in all it wasn't a great experience and I wouldn't go back.

Submitted a prescription for a controlled medication in June and was informed that it would not be…read moreavailable until mid-August. Called in July, and was told the same thing. Visited this pharmacy on August 8th, and was informed for the first time that the prescription expired 30 days after my doctor sent it in, and that I would now need my doctor to submit a new prescription. When I asked if the medication was now available, the pharmacist looked into it and indicated that it was not until further notice. She also disclaimed any responsibility for past actions of the pharmacy since she had not been there. So in the end, I waited three months as directed by this place twice to learn: 1. My prescription was no longer valid, 2. My doctor needs to submit a new prescription, and 3. Even if I followed this new information, the pharmacy still could not obtain the medicine I need. I know that modern life is complex, but I draw the line at farcical, inconsiderate and incompetent.

More recently I have found that when my prescriptions were complete, the text messaging system drives us crazy to pick up but then, when you drive down, it's likely the pharmacy staff won't be there. Once, I arrived at the store at opening (as advertised online and on the door of the store) and the place was empty except for myself and another annoyed patron who drove down only to find that the pharmacy was in fact closed and there was nobody to inquire as to what was going on. That day I made three trips to get one prescription, 8:15 am and then 10:30 am and was able to ask the person at the register when I might be able to pick up my order. They said, I don't know, maybe after 12 noon? I actually found them open at 3:15 pm. Yesterday I went at 8:30 and the same happened, four patrons, no staff and pharmacy closed. Clearly, there had to be someone there because the door was open and the lights were on but everyone who purchased anything used self-check out. Went to pick up groceries, came back, same thing at 10:05-I'm done! I will be contacting CVS Corporate and letting them know that they should note on their site that the pharmacy may or may not be open depending on whether the employee's decide they wish to sleep late or show up at work. Either way, I'll be sourcing a new pharmacy tomorrow morning. Someone should make this establishment aware that they won't be in business long if they continue to do what they are doing and I'm sure Corporate will love to hear that Salaries are being paid for people who don't even put in the hours for their wages.

I went in with 2 of my friends and we were just "looking" to see if there was anything we couldn't live with out. I ended up walking out with a Montauk sweatshirt ( mind you the selection here was smaller than the other stores but better quality!) , a decal for my car ( in a color that none of the other stores had), and some zink oxide face sun block( because apparently in my 30's I am starting to get dark spots on my face ). This is the only store that had a different selection and had everything I had been looking for! The girl on the sales floor saw myself and one of my friends holding some things and looking at the clothing. She pointed out that there was a mirror that we could use to see how they looked. Once we had decided on what we wanted, she offered to hold all of our items up at the register. She wasn't pushy, she wasn't hounding us like most staff members do at these types of stores. When we were waiting at the register the gentleman( possibly the owner), was on the phone. He sounded as though he was speaking to one of his employees from a different location. We waited about 2-3 min before he hung up. He apologized for the wait and was very kind and concerned that we were waiting. He quickly rung us up and engaged in conversation with us. He was friendly and made us feel comfortable and as though we were valued customers. Summary: Check this place out before going to any others! The staff made our visit an experience and the items we got were 20 times better than the stuff the other stores carry.

Those who run this pharmacy, however, seem to have rediscovered that you can gain customers simply by doing your job, doing it well, and treating the customer with courtesy and compassion! When you call this pharmacy, the phone is promptly answered by a human being. You don't have to sit though tons of advertisements / being put on hold for a long time. The staff are friendly, courteous, and helpful. Most importantly, though, they operate well when filling a prescription. With my previous pharmacy I'd worry whenever a refill was coming up, since there would almost always be some kind of a problem that the staff would do the minimum of work to solve. When you called the pharmacy, after a long wait, you'd be responded to by someone who seemed to find your call a nuisance (Not every person in the pharmacy was like this, but it was common). I only wish I'd known how great Nutmeg Pharmacy is earlier, since it saves me so much hassle and stress. Half the time when you call them to fill a prescription, they've already done it! I hadn't known that pharmacies like this still existed. Overall, Nutmeg Pharmacy is a wonderful small business that can still give that personal touch to their work.
